  1. Anyone have any more info or a link to the mentioned Keith Black pistons?
  2. When I got my truck, it would intermittantly act like it had a horrible miss, I tried almost everything to get it to stop, before replacing the O2 sensor. Hasnt done it since. This wouldnt cause the tach to drop out, but when it acts up, it can certainly be misconstued as a miss. If I were you, I would start with the Crank sensor. They are a common problem and fairly easy to fix. I'm not sure about the renix years, but in newer ones they come with a cardboard spacer on the tip. When you install the sensor, you set the spacer down against the flywheel and when you start it the spacer gets ground off leaving the proper gap for the sensor. If you pull yours out and reinstall it be careful about the spacing. If you put your old one in this way with no gap, youll chew up your sensor. Just FYI
  3. Lol will you do mine as well? Please and thank you! <IJ7FJ26S4NL177579> You VIN comes back as not found. Is yours an 86??? And I did change the ist digit to a "1" instead of an "l".

  7. ^^^^ That one is NOT an M715!
  8. Thats all Chrysler has on your 87. The build codes are the three digit (Letters) in between all the "descrition not available" things. Like I said, you might be able to look the codes up somewhere. Hope this helps. Sorry, can't give you the original or last known owner info.

  11. The 86, 87, 88 build sheet info is sketchy due to being under AMC ownership and not all the info transferring over. If you post your VIN here or PM it to me I can probably get you a little info, like where it was sold, when, and build date info through Chrysler. If there is a build sheet it will only be codes with no descritions. You might be able to find a Chrysler build code book in that case and translate the codes.
  12. I don't think anyone here is bashing anyone elses education. I have seeen way too many time where something was engineered so wrong that there is absolutely no reason for it, other than the fact that the engineer doesnt have to work on anything he designs. There is some really stupid stuff out there! Stuff that doesnt have anything to do with the constraints of an engine bay, or parts availabilty. The only common sense answer for some of this stuff comes down to an engineer that doesnt have any hands on mechaincal experience. Ive had Chrysler tech trainers, guys who have an inside scoop to all means of the company, tell me the same thing. I know it takes a skilled person to design this stuff and that there is tons of comprimise to made in many facets of car building, but for some of these things there is no excuse.
  13. Ive been saying this for years. One of my biggest beefs being a Chrysler tech, is that on most PT Cruisers one of the AC port fittings is way down near the compressor. You have to take the grille out and the upper core support out to get to it.... freaking stupid!
  14. Get the sta-bil that is made for gasoline with ethanol in it. Ethanol will rust a tank out if let sit too long and most gas nowadays has ethanol in it. I too like the idea of getting the tires off the ground, but for 6 months only you probably won't have a problem as long as they arent leaking out slowly already.
  15. I think I like the keep it orange but do the trim and badges in black and lower edge camo. Do a search for orange and black camo. I did and there are some really cool patterns that would set this truck off nicely!
  16. I think you need to start going farther up the ladder with this inspection thing. The people you are dealing with have no clue what they are talking about. You CAN NOT be failed for something your vehicle was not built with or not required to have when it was manufactured. Either these people or you may just be getting lost or confused about terminology for certain parts. Are we talking about a true auto trans style nuetral safety switch which allows the engine to only be started in park or nuetral, or are we talking about the reverse light switch, which has nothing to do with the manual trans being in nuetral. Are your reverse lights working, and if not, is that the reason they are failing you and they are calling it a nuetral safety switch??? Something isnt right here. I hope we can help you figure this out.
  17. Ive always loved a red or burgundy interior. Though the black one in my MJ fits it nicely.
  18. Those bus drivers are bat shiznit crazy. Ive been run off the road more than once by a tour bus like that that was in a hurry or just not paying attention. I have no idea where they find their drivers or what pressure those companies put the drivers under, but it aint good!
  19. Are the "DECALS" going to be a-la Dukes of Hazard?
  20. WOW thats orange! Welcome to the club. Go through the DIY section and Projects sections and youll find more mods and updates upgrades than you ever thought were possible. Start a project page too, to keep us updated on your progress with the build. And don't forget to go to the registry and add your VIN. Keep up the good work and ENJOY!
  21. Mine goes all the way back too. I'm 6'1" and I'm comfortable driving in that position.
  22. Mine were free because I work at a Jeep dealer that does lift kits on wrangler. They basically throw away the leftover stock suspension parts.
  23. I have regular JK shocks on my MJ. They were about 1 inch longer total than the OEM MJ shocks. That worked out fine for me going from 2wd to 4wd, though I think I could have used a little more length in the back. But they ride good for being free take offs and I have no complaints with them otherwise. As was stated the bar pin for the rear top was removed and installed in the front lower to make them work.
  24. Sent the Beretta back because of the broken frame, and just received my replacement from them, a Beretta Nano 9mm. The Bersa had a couple of fail to loads in the first couple of magazines through, but has since stopped doing that. Seems to put decent groupings up and has been nice to concealed carry on my right hip. I still need to some more rounds through it though just to be sure. A good cleaning and lubing is in order as well. Probably should have done that before I put the first shot through it! Ive read the Nano should be cleaned and lubed before shooting as well, so I will definitely do that before I shoot it.
  25. At Chryslers training center in Charlotte, NC, they have a table up front by the main entrance of free stuff to take. Last time I was there they had a set of rear brakes set out there. They couldnt really remember what they came off of, but at the very least they would have gone in my scrap metal pile. They didnt appear to have been disassembled multiple times like the diffs and other parts, just look like they were on an axle for training and were removed and never touched again. I found out they came off an 07-13 JK wrangler dana 44 rear. They include the caliper mount backing plates, calipers, pads, and drum/rotors. all brand new looking. They are too nice to scrap. I'm thinking I might sell them to a JK person in need. Is there anything else I could use these for? And if not, how much could I sell them for?
