  1. If youre not using the injection system, I don't see why ANY 2.5 mounted flywheel wouldnt work, assuming the clutches are the same. Even the 91 and up should work as you wouldnt need to use the tone wheel portion of it for anything. I personally wouldnt spend the money on it because you have a perfectly good one in the truck already and it don't take long to swap it over. The compatibility issues youre reading I think have more to do with getting the engine to run with the computer, than they do about it actually bolting up.
  2. I too have the trac bar and all 4 control arms. Nice product so far and you can get them in multiple colors.
  3. I grab them whenever I find one, but I don't seek them out. I have a real Hawaii plate (I'm in NC), and a bunch of others mostly east coast/midwest. Then theres my personalized plates I had when I was in Michigan. "GHIAPET" on a 1972 Karmann Ghia.
  4. When I converted mine to 4x4, I just did a toe and go because I didnt have time to check caster. I got my first death wobble after that while doing 60-65 on the interstate in the middle lane. The traffic around me was not happy as I tried to limp over to the shoulder with people trying to go around me on both sides. With no other changes, I took the time to adjust my caster. It was at 4.5 degrees pos. Spec is 6.5-7.5. I got it adjusted as far as I could, which only got me to 6.0 degrees, and I never had it again.
  5. I pieced mine together. Rubicon Express 5.5 springs, RRO control arm drop brackets, Bilstein shocks, Core 4x4 upper and lower adjustable control arms and track bear. I wanted it to ride more like stock so I insisted I get the drop brackets as long as it stays short arm. Its not exactly like stock, but its not bad or loosey goosey like a bunch of others (Wranglers) Ive ridden in. Not that it means much now that youve sold the XJ :)
  6. At least three of them appear to be stock photos with the bar name changed on the front of the building.
  7. All that money on a paint job, and they didnt fix the peeling black paint around the windshield trim.
  8. Ive always thought that a stepside bed from an earlt to mid '80's ford F100 would look good. They have the angular look that our MJ's have. Might be too wide though, but might look good with a full width axle.
  9. Installed sway bar drop brackets to get the sway bar off of the bottom of the radiator. It was getting pretty tight when I put it on a lift. All good now, I even got to shorten my adjustable sway bar links. I still have a bunch of stuff to do to it. I have a cable front axle disco kit to install. I have a new carpet kit to install. Still havent installed my Scarfab hitch, or my front hitch I got for Christmas. Still have some Hella off road lights to install that I got two birthdays ago. I bought an Azzys tcase shift lever kit to install, only to find out it won't work on a 2.5 AX5 setup, so the OEM shifter still needs to be installed. Ill do all then when I do the carpet, or vice versa. Bought new bushings for the original tcase linkage as well.

  11. Jeep is showing a 2 door version at Easter Jeep fest. https://www.allpar.com/news/2019/04/jeep-j-6-should-the-gladiator-go-two-door-44307
  12. Ive seen those front bumpers for sale on Amazon. The price is good, but they don't follow the curvature of the front end and that to me makes them look bad. I love where youre going with it though. Good luck with everything!
  13. There is no ONE go to place for parts. Most general repair parts can be had through the normal auto parts seller channels.... parts stores, rockauto.com, etc. Not to mention the multiple places for custom and lift parts. Any questions about anything specific will be gladly answered in this forum if someone has any experience with it.. Theres only one place to buy a new trailer hitch. krustyballer I think it is on here makes and sells them. Brandon Scarborough is his name. Scarfab is the company and can be found on facebook. The factory rear bumper is terribly weak. If truly no rust present, you might be OK, but if want to preserve this truck and its original rear bumper, Id get a new hitch. For any small lift, stock size tires and wheels up to 31" are fine. 31's will bolt up with no lift with stock wheels but a couple inches aint gonna hurt it or make it look weird. I can't comment on toppers. Took of the one on my truck as soon as I got it. Gave it away to a neighbor.
  14. In my experience doing body work, just adding more clear over top of what you have won't make it go back to normal, it will just make what look you have now shiny. Any new topcoat will give added protection to what is left, but it will still need re color coating to make it look normal again.
  15. 37''s involve far more than just a lift kit. You really need bigger axles from a full size truck, 1/2 ton or larger depending upon your intentions, not to mention piecing together all other parts needed and fabbing them to withstand the added forces involved with tires and axles that big and larger. Also not covered is the proper axle gearing needed for tires that large. It gets expensive real quick.
  16. There isnt any info on your door that the VIN wouldnt give you through the mfg like what I gave you.
  17. Neither of those engine codes are correct. The codes have been recycled for modern engines. The 1.4 turbo is a Fiat engine found in many Fiats and some Dodge Darts and Jeep renegades. The 3.6 V6 is in a lot of other cars and vans.
  18. I did some more research on the 175mm. It may be that the build code has been recycled for something else. The service info doesnt show a 175mm axle option, that and the Dana 30 is 186mm, so that code probably applies to something else now, and not the ZJ any longer. A lot of the MJ codes have been recycled the same way if you get a look at a build sheet. here's your Comanche... 21. WJ and Late TJ 4.0 had the mounts in a different location. The points may be on the block, but won't be machined or threaded.
  22. The 4.0 from the WJ won't even bolt into your MJ, the mounting points on the block are different. Theres almost nothing from a WJ that will swap to the MJ.
  23. I have a 3.4 swap to do in my 86 project truck, and Ive been wondering about keeping the original fuel injection or just going with the edelbrock manifold with either a carb or a FiTech type system. Everything Ive read about the factory 3.4 intake says its very restrictive. Not to mention the heads which are holdovers from the early 2.8. I don't like messing with carbs and Id lean toward a 2bbl FiTech setup myself for your setup if you can afford it.
  24. And supposedly, ZJ rear coils put on the front of the MJ or XJ will lower the front 2- 3 inches and not have a stiff spring rate. Ive yet to try it, but might do that as well to the 86.
