  1. @ work also. Until 9:00. Bleagh!
  2. Is your truck 1990 model year? If so the 90-98 brakes are what you have. Also, you can install 99-01 brakes on a 90-98 axle by using the wheel bearings and rotors from the 99-01 on the 90-98 axle. That's the only differnce between the two style axles.
  3. I've been running 4.10's and 31-32's for 200k on my 98 XJ. I have no problem running it 80mph on the interstate for hours. It has 433k on the original motor. I've been spinning that motor good for a long time and there are no issues with the engine. Get's 17-18 mpg too.
  4. 1991/92! Not to hijack, but how do you like that rear suspension setup? How much lift do you think it amounts to? Pics?It amounts to an inch or so more than a metric ton leaf pack. I mainly built it for load capacity.Although I don't think it has quite as much capacity as the MT packs. Although it's a little sketchy because of the light duty 2wd main leaves. But it suits my purpose and I've been running them like that for almost 5 years. Doesn't ride to bad either.
  5. 12 years ago I was happy to find one for $200. Couple years later I found a set out of a 98 XJ four banger for $300. They're still under my 98 XJ with about 350k combined miles on them.
  6. That's what I did. 92 MJ with 96 XJ AX15 and NP231, 1997 D30, 1988 MT D44, 2000 TJ Canyons. 1992 2wd main leaves with Rusty's offroad 3.5 XJ spring packs with the main eyes cut off. 1995 ZJ front coils. 1994 XJ Country chrome grill, headlight surrounds and front bumper. 1987 XJ Wagoneer Limited steering wheel. 1986 MJ buckets to be switched to 1994 XJ Country cloth buckets.
  7. 92 for the interchangeability with 92-01 drivetrain parts. 91 has a smaller pilot diameter on the input shaft. Although you can easily swap in a 92-99 drivetrain in place of the 91 4.0 HO.
  8. Lever itself may need adjustment. If it hits the shifter opening before disingaging it won't come out of 4wd. Go underneath and see if you can move the lever on the Tcase into 2wd it should only have to move a little bit. The adjust to suit. The adjuster on the linkage is probably rusted up though.
  9. 1310 U-Joints are for the drive shaft. Axle shaft U-Joints from 84-95 are Spicer 260 sized except for ones that had ABS. All ABS and 95.5-01 Cherokees have Dana 44 sized 297/760 U-joints.
  10. Stock 92 4.0 stick 2wd on 205/75/15's I had the needle past straight down and on its way up to 0 post. It was running really smooth with no shakes. That was when I first bought it 5 years ago. Since then it has gotten a D44 with a not quite stock drive shaft that vibrates. Also has been converted to 4wd. I don't think it'll ever go that fast again.
  11. The ZJ 242 doesn't have a viscous coupling in it. The ZJ 249 has it. It's in the quadratrac which is just 4 hi and 4 low. The 242 is nice in slippery conditions. It may not match up to the ax15 or aw4 because it has a slightly shorter input spline. A spacer may allow it to match up.
  12. Drove there from Rutland VT in 2013. Ohio is a lot closer. Lol Great time and lots of cool rigs. The rest of you guys go if you can because next year may be the last one.
  13. @streetwedg, Why would he go from a 4 speed auto with overdrive and a transfercase to a 3 speed auto? The 44RE already has a T-case. I bet the 44RE is much more common now than any 80's setups. Lots of old ZJ's around with the 44.
  14. Spring over will give you 6" or so of lift. That's not a little. That's a lot.
  15. Slow build. That way another MJ won't disappear. That's what I'm doing with an 89 eliminator. All I'm starting with is the shell, only parts on it are the pedal assembly and front control arms.
  16. The other thing I don't like about going with a Mopar V8 is being stuck with a Mopar transmission.
  17. Could you use the Novak GM conversion radiator to ease the radiator trouble? Are the inlet and outlet on a Mopar V8 same as they are on a GM V8? I didn't care for the radiator hanging down so low on your build.
  18. You don't have obd1, you have a renix system. That's pre obd1.
  19. ZJ and XJ uni-frame are the same at the engine mount bracket location? Interesting.
  20. 84-96 4 door front doors fit.
  21. Show picture of transfer case output and how drive shaft attaches to that. 96-01 Tranfer case is different than pre 96.
  22. Best bang for the buck would be a 4.8 or 5.3 vortec. They can be had for $500-$800 for good running engines. To get them in there though is where the cost is.
  23. I bought a 98 XJ that had similar problems. Guy went through the whole system and everything was in good shape. New steering box bushings everything. I watched him struggle with it online for 6 months. He finally gave up and sold it pretty cheap. I bought it and drove it home and parked it nose to nose with my 96 XJ and looked everything over. When he lifted it he unbolted the track bar at the axle and when he reinstalled it he bolted it back to the front of the box it bolts into which allowed it to wander because now the track bar wasn't in double shear. Check your track bar thoroughly.
  24. Novak-adapt.com for LS/Vortec swap info. If you have cubic dollars you can put the LS7 out of the Corvette in it. 427 CI
  25. I have a 96 XJ that came with the little armrests in front. Only one I've seen.
