  1. I own a pair of brand new ones that have never been installed. I can vouch for that. :)
  2. I have seen "Blazer Type" fog lights in sales literature. If I had to bet my life, I say they are factory. They are not Marchals or ROL but I think Jeep put just about any light they had sitting around on their vehicles. After the ROL lights went away, there was a light referred to as "Blazer Type".
  3. It is nice but since there is rust on those door skins, I bet there is rust behind those rear fender flairs. She can't live in Chicago too long before she starts developing problems.
  4. My humor is so unappreciated.
  5. Dual SU carbs from a '70 - '72 Datsun 240z. You gotta get some. Really cool.
  6. Mine is very solid. Bulletproof in fact. But I don't think I would trust it enough to stroke it.
  7. The chief is the superior model. The stickers and carpeted door panels make it the most capable for off roading.
  8. How about this one. "Not while a president is in office that thinks the military is part of the problem"
  9. I don't mean to disappoint you but those are not the factory decals.
  10. It's as if he is say "I am dreaming so don't try to test the bottom line. I really don't want to sell it but I really need to sell it. So make an offer". "I put a lot of money in this. I wonder if I will see any of it?" He won't.
  11. Yes I know. My IE just doesnt like it for some reason and life is simply too short to figure out why. I have chrome installed for emergencies but I was too lazy at the time.
  12. A few years ago, I found a set of black leather cherokee buckets. I believe black leather was only available in '86 & '87. After that, they were charcoal rather than absolute black. Plus they were in fantastic condition for being 25 years old. Anyway, I wanted them in the worst way. The guy wanted $200 for the fronts and rear bench but he wouldnt ship them. I offered him $200 for the fronts only plus I would pay for shipping. He replied that he wasnt born yesterday and that I was trying to scam him. I sent him a link to the truck I was restoring and I finally convinced him that I really wanted them. :rotf:
  13. I wanted to let everyone know there is a pair of black bucket seats that look like they tilt forward for sale on ebay. Very difficult to find. My browser doesn't seem to like the new forum too well. It doesn't let me insert links so you will need to do a search. "Jeep Cherokee Bucket Seats" should get you there.
  14. BTW, a 2 door chief is pretty sweet. Black interior too?
  15. I have one too. But my truck hasn't had the crap beat out of it and it has low miles. It works like new. I have no intentions of swapping it.
  16. And as was mentioned previously, don't sweat the excessive cranking of the engine. I am one of the few on the forum that bought a Comanche new off the lot. It did that when it was new.
  17. I just celebrated Halloween in Las Vegas. I can't post the pics I have. :brows:
  18. I have stock 235 wranglers on my 87. The ones I have now are "Silent Armor". I am very happy with them. I get a slight rub when my steering wheel is fully turned. Not a big deal though. I just don't turn that sharp. Goodyear has a few different types of wrangler tires and I am sure some are better than others. I ran some variant on my previous generation tahoes and had good results. When it came time to replace them on both tahoes, I bought the same tires again.
  19. I can't tell by the pics but it looks like that rare 5 speed short bed is a long bed. I wonder if it is an automatic or a stick?
  20. I just hate vehicles with bicycle wheels, especially pickup trucks.
  21. To put it into perspective, I have an '87 with factory 3.07 and I must be going at least 60 before I can put it in 5th gear. Factory gearing was way too high. In my youth, I always thought that poor 4.0 was a dog until I put a tach in. Then I saw what was really going on. Also, I Ignore that shift light. It was never accurate, even when new. I treat it as a piece of nostalgia.
  22. Hey not funny. With the exception of those rims, that could be my truck. I would bet if you would walk behind that thing, there would be a couple of things dragging the ground. :rotf:
  23. Nope, they are (were) not unique. I bought my '88 XJ new -- it came from the factory with standard AMC 1/2x20 lug nuts with the stainless steel, crimped-on caps. A long time ago I saw some that were the same type (crimped-on caps) but a little taller -- but they were aftermarket, at a Pep Boys. And I've been back several times hoping to find them again, because I liked them. Alas, they have disappeared. "He who hesitates is lost." The key here is that they were/are stainless. Most aftermarkets seem to be chrome plated steel. With a little patience, I was able to find NOS factory on ebay a couple years ago.
  24. btw, I have two seats with that fabric. Those covers can be removed. It is difficult but doable. Run them through the washing machine with a scent free soap and let them air dry preferably in the sun. They will look like new.
  25. Just be sure to use only rich corinthian leather. Not the regular stuff.
