  1. I just removed it 2 weeks ago, and had to buy a socket.... I "Think" it was 18mm... I'll go check my tools in a bit and post again the size I got
  2. I was selling some items on the book of faces awhile back. I was expecting people to ask questions by replying to the post. But most sent message requests, and apparently I never saw em. I eventually figured it out, months later. When I was browsing the other buttons on the book of faces. So I missed out due to poor design of site. I was able to sell some items though
  3. There have been a few HEMI swaps to XJ's. Same engine bay. There are hood clearance issues, however, I think if they swapped in a 5.7 truck intake it may solve that. The ones I've seen wore using the 5.7 car intake. I was thinking of doing a Hemi in my jeep, but then decided on just stroking the 4.0
  4. I was getting ready to ask the same question, if there wore ever actually liners for the rear. I'm mounting some items under the rear of the MJ. Battery, air tank, air compressor(s), transmission cooler, lights,,,. I think liners may help limit dirt / mud.

    6x6

Yea, sadly I agree. You can only get so much with nuts these days... I was also thinking about a Comanche 6x6, I don't know if it would actually look good. The proportions would be odd. I think it would have to start out as a long bed to fit the tandem axles. I wish someone with photoshop skills would make one up for a visual.

    6x6

http://www.trucktrend.com/features/1602-hell-hog-hellcat-powered-2012-jeep-wrangler-unlimited-6x6/ This would be cool to own This is my dream truck here... I would literally give my left nut for it.

    6x6

Funny you posted this. I was actually just thinking about this. I looked up 6X6 conversions and suspensions. I was researching on how the power both rear axles. I even looked for pictures of MJ 6X6's, I didn't find any. I have a 78 Dodge PW, I may do a 6X6 on that truck. I'll be building that later this year. I live near the border, I see a few small / mid size pickup trucks with 2 rear axles. They are not 6X6 off road though. They use them to put heavy loads on small trucks, and only one axle is powered. kinda of cool
  8. Very nice!
  9. I'm looking to buy some 2X6 or 2X8 boxed steel and make rock sliders. By cutting out original rocker panels. I'd like to use them for air too. Anyone on here do that? Pictures?
  10. The more I see these, I think how cool it would be to have a clone of mine, a "mini me" :) Think a clone of this MJ can be made in scale? What something like this cost ~$800 to $1500? Image Not Found

  12. Very nice. I like seeing RAM trucks pulling nice trailers!
  13. Yep, exactly how I did it too :) I was expecting it to be more difficult
  14. Humm, for the Jeep? It was a simple bolt in. no modding or cutting needed. I replaced the steering box at the sometime. For the Dodge trucks, modification is needed.
  15. Borgeson for $150. http://www.pscmotorsports.com/shop-by-brand/borgeson/steering-shaft-telescopic-steel-jeep-2034.html I installed it, but honestly, it is not much better then factory on the MJ/XJ applications. It is a little more beef, but over all same design. Borgeson shafts for other applications, like 73 to 93 RAM Trucks are much better then factory.
  16. I'm getting ready to do the same. I'm going to buy a complete :"kit". They sell on Amazon and eBay for between ~$200 and $240. I'm going to use ~91 and up kit. Requires different compressor mount. The compressor bolts "Down" instead of "side" on the earlier MJ/XJs. The newer bolting method makes it easier to install compressor with electric fan conversion. http://www.ebay.com/itm/351500259842 "Jeep Cherokee 1991-1993 4.0L Full AC A/C Repair Kit with New Compressor & Clutch" I just re read your question: I'd visit a salvage yard and pull a complete system. You should see if the evaporator is at least on the jeep that came with no factory air. Look at the firewall passenger side for 2 un used pipes, near the hot water pipes. If there is at least an evap, then the hard part is good. Personally, If I wanted a jeep with AC, and and found a Jeep with no factory AC, I'd keep looking.
  17. Looks cool :) I "Think" the Chinese version of the XJ is called a 2500... Imagine if they saw a RAM 2500? Its a monster compared to my MJ
  18. Ive searched, and found some old threads, with dead links. I need to replace the window channel on my jeep. Any ideas where to buy?
  19. There are at least 2 on the market, one is from MSD. I can't recall who makes / sells the other.
  20. I'm getting ready to redo the wiring in my jeep. I started off with a plan and ran the wires clean, but as the build grew some things got added. I'm going to build something like this : But I think you may want something like this :
  21. Well, they don't call em "Whips" for no reason  On the subject of handhelds, I keep one in my Jeep too. That way I can loan it on a trail ride, or if a rider walks away from the jeep, we can communicate.
  22. I've been racing for years. I've been modifying for decades. Adding a performance coil to a stock, or lightly modified engine, the owner my not notice a difference. It is a mod that is supposed to go hand in hand with other mods. Like most mods, by it's-self will yield nominal results. However, with the right recipe of mods, a coil (or another mod) will result in improvements. Most performance coils use extra coil windings to get a "Hotter" spark that can jump a larger spark gap. So, you can increase your gap to achieve better cylinder ignition. If your engine is modified or you plan on gong that direction, I'd spend the extra coin on a performance coil.
  23. bolted through the tail gate. avoid the rods in the tail gate used to open gate.. used these : http://www.amazon.com/Hi-Lift-4X400-4XRAC-Mounting-System/dp/B000CMHNY2/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1462154357&sr=1-1&keywords=high+lift+mount http://www.amazon.com/Hi-Lift-Jack-HK-B-Black-Handle-Keeper/dp/B000F285EG/ref=sr_1_6?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1462161204&sr=1-6&keywords=high+lift+mount

The only place I can see is on the passenger side hump, near the floor shift
  25. Not a bumper jack, but this is a good jack for off-road use http://www.amazon.com/Powerbuilt-640912-3-Ton-Bottle-Stand/dp/B003ULZGFU/ref=sr_1_10?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1461978542&sr=1-10&keywords=jack But when I feel adventurous, and having a scary time, I'll use the Hi-lift :) I mounted the hi-lift on the tailgate Image Not Found
