in michigan it's illegal to fab your own suspension pieces (didn't really stop me from doing it, I just didn't drive that MJ much afterward, well, except for that 3000 mile trip to Utah). I'd wager it's also illegal to fab up a hitch, but that sort of thing might waffle from state to state.

fords are drivers side diff. you'll want either dodge or chevy for a passenger side diff. car-part.com may be of help for hunting junkyards. look for 1 ton trucks. chevy went ifs in I think 88, so you'll want to look for older than that.

she had found a company that will handle the entire thing; packing, shipping, customs, etc. the price is outrageous and I'm hoping to find some more affordable alternatives. :( and yes, they have 240 over there. she'll be selling the TV rather than taking it.

what are you looking to use your truck for?

a good friend of mine is moving to Germany. She's convinced that she wants to take pretty much everything with her. I'm trying to convince her otherwise, but in the meantime does anyone have any experience with sending a large amount of stuff overseas?

there's no easy answer unfortunately. I can set a character limit and a picture size limit, but to the best of my knowledge, there's no automatic way to limit the overall size. :(

car-part.com might be of help finding a front 4.10 dana 30. be sure to look for various years since the site organizes things by part number, not interchange possibility. or you can snatch up a busted 2.5L XJ and part it out.

straight answers: -the stock unit isn't all that bad. -aftermarket intakes are not a panacea of performance. -don't do it because you might save money. do it because you think it's cool, or it looks better, or whatever. -individual results may vary.

all that stuff should be the same. be prepared that used gears can be a real pain to set up right and in the end may never run quiet. gears don't like changes to their operating conditions. what was it that was wrong with the 4.10 axle? I didn't quite understand that part.

brakeline length won't make any change to pressure. look into the dual booster swap. :thumbsup:

there is adjustability in the system. could just need a tweak. This isn't on the XJ that was in the accident is it?

There's nothing on god's green earth that could make me go back to 3.07s. even 3.55s are well worth the effort. :thumbsup: Don't regear though, just get a pair of 3.55 axles and spend a weekend swapping. late model or ABS front axles with the 297 U-joints would be icing on the cake. :D

if you've already got the hellcreek 4.5s, you can probably get away with a longer shackle for that extra bump.
