  1. I was running 5 1/4ers and an 8" sub in my 88 and it sounded great! But I had an amp in the mix. the more power the better. :D
  2. ask neohic. he's the one that did them before.
  3. what was in that square hole?
  4. also could be corrosion in the wire harness connector just behind the rear drivers side tire.
  5. the pop forum is mostly for new guys who can easily find the older "share your story" type of threads.
  6. It's all of 6 bux here. and considering all the attention I seem to get from my city, I do pay it.
  7. I wish I had some artistic talent. :( my brain is just too logical and form-follows-functionie.
  8. lemme dwell on it a bit. got a long day of packing and whatnot ahead of me today and tomorrow is even longer (driving to georgia again). I just don't think there are enough threads to split off a tool section. but it might be nice to separate the mods from the repairs.
  9. what you got is a happy lady. :D
  10. hahaha! :rotf: awesome pose there! :D I fill up the floor for carly so she has a bit more space for long journeys.
  11. anyone volunteering to separate the entire forum into different categories?
  12. I thought the DIY section was for detailed descriptions of finished how-to projects (be they repairs or mods). for this new forum are we talking about "talking about tools"? or are we talking about "showing people how you made a certain tool"? I'm now confused. :hmm:
  13. I don't think we've got enough interest to create a whole forum, but you're more than welcome to start a bunch of threads in the pub. or if they are auto related tools you can stick them in the tech section too.
  14. my roommate has the screwdriver. It does exactly as you think it does and does it well (afterall, it just drives screws). I don't see it ever failing (but if it does, it's guaranteed for life) but it's a bit heavy for my tastes and I get by just fine with a regular one. The double drive ratchet on the other hand should fix an issue I frequently have on cars; not enough space to properly ratchet a regular ratchet. :fs1: I cannot wait to try it out!!!
  15. Since I don't see the rest of my family 'til Friday, I'll try to live vicariously through you guys. :D So far I got Kobalt's double drive ratchet. It's AWESOME!!! and a voltage/current sensor. It's even MORE awesome.
  16. oh, and I have a 3'x5' crate in the basement if you want it.
  17. Even Carly was crate-trained early on.
  18. I can tell you for sure that I put a tiny nick in the new seal the first time around and figured I could get away with it. Eventually the second RMS was the winner (it's not like I blew through 5 RMS's) but it kept dripping after each try for reasons I couldn't pin down. I just dropped the pan and re-did it. in the end I used gobs and gobs of silicone on the back of the pan and an overnight cure in a last-ditch attempt... and miracles of miracles, it worked. :dunno:
  19. It's certain that some will find it annoying, but technically he's done nothing wrong. I find it hard to fault him for passing on info he thinks is important. having said that, I do believe this thread has run its course and needs to be locked before it gets even more argumentative.
