  1. do they even try?
  2. well, it's what I call it. others too. not sure what the "official" term is. once you see it, you can't un-see it
  3. go get a plane ticket! https://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/cto/d/silverdale-1986-jeep-comanche-xls/6989837300.html
  4. If I understand it correctly, they are going for the look of a desert race truck. it's way sillier than even the skateboard look with the wide low profile tires (at least that could possibly lead to better on-road handling). all the truck pictured above is doing is pointing the headlights at the sky and making it look like it's got a load of bricks out back. I shall now write out a similar note so I can have one on hand.
  5. the speeds are controlled by the switch on teh dash that's run through a resistor bank inside the ducting above the passengers feet. but usually a bad resistor pack results in only highspeed, not everything but highspeed.
  6. If anyone is bringing their MJ, my thought was to all park on the roof of the Lime garage so there's a hope of the trucks being close to each other.
  7. a lot depends on how much food people are looking to need. I'd be perfectly happy getting a giant pretzel and a beer at Jock's. Is there enough on that menu for you and your wife?
  8. be patient. the right one will surface.
  9. that's why my first choice was Jock's. Nothing is set in stone though. I'm open to other ideas, plus we have to stay flexible because we don't know what the weather or the crowds will be.
  10. dang that's a big truck. ready for the hurricane flooding I guess.
  11. there are practically infinite choices for food in Disney Springs, but a nearby option is The BoatHouse which is right next door and has a much bigger menu but is kinda pricey (I think it's $18 for a burger). I do like their dockside bar which is out on the water but still lets you order the same food. I've got no idea how busy any of these places will be on a random Sunday evening. Not sure which should be higher on the priorities list, "food options" or "quiet setting". Some of the restaurants can get quite noisy around mealtime so I'm trying to avoid those.
  12. be sure to add in a signature that reflects the new awesomeness
  13. I always suggest posting future meet ups int eh Pub as it gets more eyeballs.
  14. I've read that the 3.4L's original EFI system is rather simple to swap from the donor car.
  15. how extensive or adaptable are you looking for? you can make a simple brace on the floor made from 2x4s. On my old MJ I built a tiedown system made from industrial channel (galvanized with holes). There are tons of aftermarket tiedown rails with fancy adjustable loops. My buddy has a system similar to this for holding groceries and such. Has one milk crate in it for capturing smaller items.
  16. I get the feeling there's a frame and axles buried in there too.
  17. the menu: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/disney-springs/jock-lindseys-hangar-bar/menus/ It's more or less fancy bar food.
  18. the bus to Disney Springs picks you up right from the hotel. Everyone else should aim for the Lime parking garage as it's the closest. For anyone that doesn't already know, Jock Lindsey is the pilot that saves Indiana Jones at the beginning of Raiders of the lost ark.
  19. hot water isn't hot enough to melt the wire insulation. but a short surely can.
  20. thunk you might be able to get away with a good soaking/cleaning of that injector?
  21. bring it on. I've long since gotten tired of these 90*+ days.
  22. In a world before modern smart phones, affordable car GPS systems, or reliable cell covereage... at a time when I was still quite sick all the time and had to take rest breaks from driving every hour or 2... in a far simpler time (way back in 2005) I went on a 3k mile adventure to Moab (and Colorado and Rockport ORP in illinois). Just a guy, his dog, his Jeep and the open road. More than one person said I was nuts. in hindsight they were probably right. But I met a lot of friends, had a lot of fun, only got lost a couple times, and the truck ran nearly flawless (my C-bushings tried to escape at one point and then the water pump self-destructed on the last day 2 hours from home). Sure wish I could remember more of it than I do, but such is the fun of being me. It's why I tend to take a lot of pictures.
  23. that looks like a mouse wearing a snake costume. lol.
