  1. haven't forgotten. only recently did the weather break and it's no long 95* every day. I need to spend some serious time in the upstairs of the barn in order to organize and have any hope of finding a small piece of trim.
  2. yeah, he's got some skills for sure. I managed to find his albums on Spotify too!
  3. any mj can rust under the carpet because any mj can leak rain into the cab. it's an all too common problem. love that interior!
  4. we've made it to florida. staying at Lake Louisa state park tonight. I'll see you gentlemen tomorrow evening.

I would have though they'd have bigger tires on an offroad recover trailer, but it seemed to do pretty good.
  6. If anyone with more brain cells than me can put together some sort of go-to for fuel pump knowledge, that'd be awesome. I know there's a company that referbs them, but I can't recall the name. I know some guys have made due with other pumps and some minor mods. I know that Dakota pumps work if you do a 97+ swap. I know there are even more solutions out there, but I'm not able to combine it all with details and such. I only remember some vague things.
  7. doesn't an MJ tank have a side mounted pump assembly and an XJ has a top mounted pump assembly? Shouldn't you be able to get a pump assembly for a 91 MJ still?
  8. do you have a flat multi wire connector under there? something that looks like it would plug in to the photo in rylee's post?
  9. If money were no object I'd already have one in one of my MJs.
  10. it might be that the intermittent box has gone out. it's a little black box right above your feet under the dash and held up with with velcro. just pull it out, plug the 2 wire connectors together and bypass the box to see if your then have 2 speeds.
  11. extra grounds are always a good thing. how'd the drive go?
  12. 'tis true. it's been 30 continuous years of headaches.
  13. could be. there is usually a lot of drag on an old windshield. have you improved the ground for the wiper motor yet? do you have intermittent wipers on the stalk?
  14. dang fuel pumps
  15. your front axle has a 2-part passenger side axle shaft. It's a silly gimmick that Jeep used back in the day in a futile attempt to gain mpgs (it doesn't save any calculable amount of gas). what it did do was provide a very common failure point for us 30 years down the road. when you pull the 4wd shift handle, in addition to shifting the t-case into 4wd mode, it sends vacuum down a line to the front axle that engages the CAD up front that pushes over a collar that makes the 2-piece shaft into one. It is common practice to bypass the CAD by engaging the collar all the time. this does not mean you're in 4wd all the time, but rather it means that your Jeep will be like all Jeeps after like '92 when Jeep got rid of the CAD and went with a traditional 1-piece shaft. Your 4wd shift handle still controls 2wd-4wd-lowrange. there should be a writeup or 2 in the link in my signature for a couple of the ways you can bypass the CAD and fix the lack 'o 4wd.

I haven't yet gotten to modifying my own headrestless bench into having headrests (using the back frame from a later seat) so while I want to say grab the whole back frame, I'm not yet 100% that it'll bolt to earlier benches. not yet at least. maybe when I get back from florida.
  18. have you bypassed your CAD yet?
  19. also this and everything like it
  20. saw another truck creation online today and decided to start a new thread. what have you guys found out there in internetland that seems more or less like it came out of junkyard wars or the mad max movies?
