I'm all for math and all, but for my 9" I assembled everything loose-ish, put the truck's weight on it, aligned the pinion, and tacked the perches in place. then pulled it out for welding. or did I get it welded in place? I can't remember that part as clearly.

does Novak or Advance Adapters have a kit for the sm465?

I think the hole has a round bottom and if so the bushing won't be touching in the middle, only at the outer edge. can you confirm?

is the bushing bottomed out in the hole? It's been a few years so I don't remember how mine looked, but I used the same bushing and had no problems.

that seal doesn't look at all like it would work. is it for the 4wd AX-15?

I don't mean to sound disparaging and I wish you luck in your search, but I've only seen a couple diesel gauge clusters pop up (separate from a whole Jeep) in the last few years and the owners wanted serious money for them or weren't willing to sell at all. the allure of that boost gauge is strong.

according to my parts manual, the 2 in the VIN equates to a base model.

so there's a learning curve and an art to these things, but I'm getting the hang of it. knowing when to add more and where to set the thermostat for fresh wood vs coals, when to empty the ash tray, and the insane importance of having enough heat in the pipe to create the draw and prevent smoke from escaping right into the room when you pop the lid to load more. definitely different than an outdoor fire pit. but I love having a legit warm spot in the house for quickly shedding off the chill after being outside. wish I had one of these growing up in michigan! oh, and yes I bought a metal teapot for boiling water. I don't even like tea! next up is some cookware to make some good use of this hot spot.

an overheating XJ has issues that won't be magically fixed by letting in the rain.

yes, 4wd cable would be a bit longer to get to the t-case. can a 2wd cable be stretched to fit? I dunno. probably safe to assume you'd need a 4wd version.

a factory MJ engine does not require even a hood at all to get up to operating temperature. and doesn't need any extra holes in the hood to stay cool. a factory-spec functioning cooling system is all these trucks have ever needed. keep in mind that the engine bay is not a sealed box. there are gigantic holes on the bottom of the engine bay and fans up front that are constantly pushing air through the system.
