  1. welcome back be sure to start a build thread on that firebird! we need pics!
  2. money can be made elsewhere. hard to get another MJ that nice. easy decision.
  3. an SYE is a good upgrade in both strength of the t-case, but also strength of the new rear driveshaft. but it's not all that necessary.
  4. if you're new to MJs: https://comancheclub.com/topic/13447-what-is-the-most-important-tip-youd-share-with-mj-owners/

  7. and of course, thank you all for making me feel "normal" and less like a complete addict.
  8. the windshield is the same throughout the entire XJ/MJ run.
  9. totally doable. the hitch would use the same 4 bolts as the bumper bracket. personally I like to integrate that giant shackle bolt that's right there, but that's hard to do without welding.
  10. keep in mind there are less than 19,000 left on the roads. there's no need to go crazy to make yours unique since a clean OG example is getting rarer and rare as we go. but it'll look cool with the mods too, so it's entirely up to you. it just goes to show that it's important to own multiple MJs. one for show, one for work, one for 4x4 trails, etc. I bought my latest MJ specifically because it was insanely original and that way I won't be tempted to go nuts like I did with my first one.
  11. I ask because a guy on FB was going on and on about the "BE Colorado red" that is supposedly a bit darker and he thought was 87-only (but both my 88s have it too). looks like 89 does not have that "BE" in the tag. if this is all true I guess that's one more thing on my 88 that hadn't yet been touched by Chrysler.
  12. out of curiosity, does your firewall tag have a BE in the corner?
  13. even better. if you could just fold that up into a usps flat rate box and ship it to me, that'd be swell.

off a title. no pic of the truck yet.
  15. huh, I really thought I'd have an update by now with pics of the new truck, but what ya gonna do. so the in-transit one was still, um, somewhere... when I discovered last week that the interior was the bright red leather. oops. seems they list that option in a place that's not under "options". so we backed out of that and pursued one in Illinois. the guy wanted more than msrp. screw that. so I called up a nearby dealership that wasn't asking way-too-much for cars and tried to get a dealership swap going, but that fell through too. after all that I discovered that Dodge was finally making 2022 models, so we decided to screw all the 2021s and that brings us to the present, where on sunday or monday I'm going to stop by the local dealership and inquire about lead times for just outright ordering one. at least that way my folks can get what they want and not have to pay for other things. we'll see. I'm still learning what the diff is between the R/T and the new "R/T plus" package in relation to our needs.
  16. impressive engineering for sure, but I'll stick with my 242. AWD for the win!
  17. classic good looks with some great upgrades. love it!
  18. fixed the typo for ya
  19. fresh picked 30 year old southern leafs for the win
