    club meetings

I have good news! The rumors are concerning RORP rather than the Badlands. It's on the western edge of Illinios so that'll save you a whole state of driving! :D
  3. But the choice isn't between "I love all bars" and " I hate any bars". At least I don't think it is. :? The choice is between "no bar", "this bar", or "that bar". Still plenty of time and people left to vote.

    Hood Ties?

I thought about that and eventually went with hood pins because I couldn't figure out an easy way to make the Jeep ones work. They hold "down" and our hoods sit flush with the fenders. Jeep on! --Pete
  5. Ok, I've been contemplating the color have come to the conclusion that having the most-eye-catching-color-possible might not be as important as I originally thought. So I'm letting y'all pick which one you'd like. These are the best colors I've been able to coax from 'Paint'. (As before, just ignore the "quality" of these pics, due to the aforementioned Jpeg isssues). I'll let this poll run till Sunday and then Monday morning I'm paying a visit to the graphics guy. Although, if enough people choose the last option... I'll start a whole different poll for whether or not we should have a rollbar.
  6. I'm guessing 3"? I love that color! I can't read a lick of the webpage though. How much is the seller asking?
  7. That site looks awfully suspicious... :?
  8. Um, pipe wrenches are *designed* to handle cylindrical objects. (cough-PIPES-cough) :D
  9. I've recently found out that I have access to the welders at school, so I have all sorts of little projects that should come to fruition this summer. :D
  10. It's been said that there's no point in rebuilding an AW-4. They seem to last forever and take any abuse, but if it does fail, they are still pretty cheap in the junkyards. As long as the junkyard one isn't already dead, it should just need new fluid. Jeep on! --Pete
  11. I lopped off about the same (not as neatly though) and still managed to mangle the sheetmetal on something (you can see the dent right in front of the bumper). I added a piece of sheetmetal underneath to keep debris from going up inside the bed sides. Later on I plan to add some armor to the area. Jeep on! --Pete
  12. I ripped out my headliner and lined the roof with a sheet of automotive foam (and then speakerbox carpet so it looks nice). Gained a couple more headroom inches for my 6' frame. Jep on! --Pete
  13. Or you can just take the CAD cover off, slide the collor over to the "lock" position, and then re-install the cover upside-down. Haven't tried it yet myself, but it's gotta be the easiest fix out there. :D Jeep on! --Pete
  14. I have 180# and I love them. Unfortunately, I haven't a clue how much lift I actually got and have even less of a clue if I lost anything over the last 2 years. It's not something I've really paid attention to since the truck is pretty level front to back. If you have a heavy bumper, I think they should have sent you the 180s.
  15. Cabz, what spring rating did you get?
  16. I would get a long AAL. They aren't that much money. Don't forget that any change in front height will throw the alignment off.
  17. I can make it into just about anything, but the longer it is, the smaller the truck becomes on the magnet because we're already maxed out on width. Later on I should easily be able to customize the logo for use online or maybe even vinyl stickers, but not until the semester is over. Jeep on! --Pete
  18. I know I read something sorta negative about using the dodge axles a while back on another 4x4 site, but for the life of me I can't remember what the reasons were. :( There's gotta be a reason they aren't very popular.

    Clean slate

I can't argue against using the RE kit. They make high quality stuff and if you can afford it, I'm certain you'll be happy. :D I went with 33s on my 88 rather than 35s because 33s fit better, are easier on the drivetrain, and work well with 4.10s. Don't forget to upgrade the shafts/Ujoints in the Dana 30 to the later model XJ units that use Dana 44 sized joints and delete the CAD. Also, if you go with 4.10s, it may be cheaper to get a 4.10 geared Dana 30 form the junkyard than to have yours regeared. Get one from a 96+ and get both the 4.10s and big joints in one purchase! :D (the big joints are found earlier than that in XJs that have ABS, but few 2.5Ls were paired with ABS and 2.5L are where you find the 4.10 gears). What will be your trail-to-highway ratio? What types of terrain do you visit? And you might want to research the AX-15 conversion. Jeep on! --Pete
  20. Just to see what happens, I added a slight background color to eliminate the white. Jeep on! --Pete
  21. I had a rollbar in one of my renditions, I think I'll put it back in. Keep in mind that it's the intensity that I was after when I choose red. If I was printing an actual business card, I'd definitely do it differently. I'm still screwing around with it though. Jeep on! --Pete
