Since I'm buying used, I'd probably take the first thing that comes by in decent condition. All I really want is for it to be super aggressive. :brows: Potential sizes are as follows: 29x10.5 SSR 29x10.5 SX 30x11.5 SX 29x8.5 TSL bias 215-85-15 TSL radial (29x8.5) 30x10.5 TSL radial I'm not sure I could convince my dad to do what's necessary to the KJ to fit 31s. At least not until the warrantee is up. :D

Anyone here run a 29 or 30 inch TSL or SX or SSR? How's that been working out for you? I'm thinking of selling my 29" trXus STS tires (all they do these days is prop up my 86 and that can be done by any ol' tire), then buy a used set of baby swampers for my "spare" set. This set would mainly be for use under Dad's new Diesel Libby when he wants to go offroad (hence the size limit), but I could also bring them to wheeling get-togethers to loan to someone who only owns car tires. Also, does anyone have a pic of said tires on a rig? Google hasn't been much help. :(

I have the fullsize 44 and 9" with 15x8 rims and 4"' backspacing and this is how far the 33x12.5s stick out (that's house door flashing I used to make some removable 2" flare extensions)

Dunno 'bout that. The 350 has its own set of complications that need to be overcome. Neither option is "easy" by any stretch of the imagination. At least the 4.0 stuff will bolt in (most of it anyway) if you get a complete donor Jeep. Trying to piece it together with junkyard parts could be a nightmare.

If I remember right, in MI you are only allowed to pass if: There is a dashed line or no line (for when you're going into oncoming traffic), there is an official lane to do it in (for when you're staying on your side of the road for the pass), and you aren't exceeding the speed limit to do so. That means you can pass on the right if some slowpoke is in the left lane, but not on a shoulder.

My reverse lights in the 88 didn't work at all, that is until I install the AX-15. :D My guess is that the switch was bad in my BA-10.

Back when my 88 was a 2wd daily driver, I could notice the engine getting noticeably sluggish around 2500 miles. Changing the oil felt like adding a super charger! So I change the oil at 2k in all my old Jeeps. Also, cheap oil is fine, cheap filters should be avoided.

Until my 90 MJ is finished, my driver is a 97 Chrysler minivan. Pluses: we are the original owners so I know its entire history, gets a consistant 25 mpg on the highway, accelerates and handles great for being a minivan, heat and A/C function just fine, can load a couch or fridge into the back and close the hatch, hauls axles and tires with aplomb (could also carry 7 people if I ever put the seats back in it). Minuses: only a couple hundred miles from 200k, needs a new wheelbearing, rear hatch no longer stays up, drivers side middle door doesn't open, lights no longer come on when you open the front doors, stock foglights long ago died, stock headlights SUCK, gauges mysteriously shut off, engine mysteriously shuts off (but no relation to the gauges), various fluids leak, wipers are haunted, radios likes to pop or go silent at random intervals, and some other minor issues. But on the whole, it's aged better than any of the MJs I own. :D I love it and I see myself owning a minivan for the rest of my life. I can't get enough of the stow-n-go seating and power doors in my parents' new van. :D

If someone handed me the keys, I'd have no problem thrashing the pavement in that, Jeep or not. Word to the wise, get a Jeep with a diesel. It can make up for the other shortcomings. :D

Some of them have gone as high as $2, but usually they are between $0.85 and $1.50 to ship. Of course, then there are the overseas packages I've sent out. :brows:

MJs never got a center mounted overhead light. I've long since forgotten what the lights behind your head do. But I do remember that the SUCK, even when working properly. I use a flashlight in the 86, a battery operated "touch" light (center-mounted overhead) in the 88, and a 500 watt halogen lamp in the 90 (it's still only half-built and in the garage so I use the garage lighting). :D

Dunno. We certainly have "discussions" over points of difference, but nothing like I've seen on other sites. Maybe Comanche owners are all just simply nice people? :dunno: But then again, the buck stops at my computer and I will NOT tolerate truly mean spirited posts. And you'll notice there isn't a smilie flippin' the bird. I'm all for the freedom of expression, but there has to be a balance so new members aren't turned away by a bad atmosphere.

Yeah, about the closest thing to flaming here is when the "all Jeeps should be lifted" guys whine about an owner dropping his 2wd MJ. :roll:

Nope, you are right. The fullsize ford axles will make the tires stick out more than now (especially up front). Of course, that didn't stop me from putting 78 Ford axles under my 88 MJ. :D Plus, if you tried to install only that Dana 44 front, then you would have mismatched axles width AND a mismatch in wheel bolt pattern.

I'd ask for proof of that engine work. Heck, I'd ask for proof of any repairs or replaced parts he claims. New cigarette lighter? Where's the receipt? :D

The tubes are, well, I don't want to say good, but at least they have proven to be stronger than the box thus far. The one time I sent a rolled up sticker in a box, it got crushed. :( The tubes I use are wicked strong with a 4" diameter and like 5" long with custom ends that are securely taped on. Never had a problem before now. :dunno: Hopefully it'll show up soon. I'm thinking of adding something to the tube so it can't roll around. :hmm: I'd hate to lose one because it simply rolled away from a worker. :(

Look to see if both filaments in the bulb are out. :D
