I bought an aftermarket one and epoxied it on. For better or for worse, it's never coming off. :D

Have someone turn the wheel back and forth while you watch/touch the various components. Especially keep an eye on the upper end of the track bar.

I sleeved my steel whip with vacuum tube to make it look like a military antenna. Does that count? :D

I got my antenna, spring and cable from the local hobby/electronics shop. After snapping off 2 fiberglass ones, I finally learned my lesson and added a spring base to my new 102" whip. Shoulda done that from the start. :roll:

I believe the YJ yoke is 1/4" or maybe 1/2" longer than an XJ/MJ yoke. Don't remember for sure, but I know it's not "inches". :D

Yeah, I love bugs. :D Oh wait... but back on topic, the closest I get to VWs is my neighbor owned a VW dune buggy when I was young. It was sweet ride.

Am I the only one that finds it a bit ironic that the club discusses this particular topic every once in a while. :D If everyone searched, we'd have nothing to talk about because they'd have already read most of our thoughts on it. :popcorn: But anyways, one last thought on searching. Searching effectively is a learned skill and made harder by the fact that there are a million ways to refer to various parts on Jeeps. Heck, there has to be 20 ways to (purposely) misspell Peugeot! :roll: I tend to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. There are plenty of ways to politely nudge someone towards using the search feature. And there are way too many individuals in this world that seem to derive great pleasure from saying it in the coarsest manner possible. :roll: Oh, and I can't wait for the day that Jeepco passes me in post count. There was a time at the Yahoo group where I was practically every other post. I felt bad that sometimes it would take days before somebody that knew the answer to a question would stop by and so I bought several shop manuals and what-not and did my best to answer everything. I think it says a lot about how far the group has come. I may still stop by a lot, but it's no longer because I'm worried about getting timely info to members. I trust that the group will take care of it. :bowdown:

I built my brackets so that the bumper came straight off of the frame rather than dropping down. May particular design made me lose use of my tailgate, but I was planning on ditching it anyway. If you look closely though, you can see that I caught a log right in front of the bumper. I regret not building the wrap-around protection right away. :( You'd think I'd have learned my lesson after smashing my rockers before building the rocker protection. :roll:

We'll see. I'm still working on the garage. Once it's cleared out, I'll be hauling the truck over and starting work on the rear axle, springs and shocks. At least the weather is nice. :D

I undid the upper rad hose from the engine and poured the poison down it and into the rad. That got the bulk of the fluid in.

Comanches are unique no matter where they go. I say build a high clearance bumper and leave the sheetmetal be. 8)

I had experienced plenty of those types of sites before and when I felt it was time for the yahoo group to grow into a forum-based site, I didn't want it to go down the path that other forums have blazed. That's why we have the 3 rules. :thumbsup: But then again, as Admin I can make all the rules I want and it makes little difference. Yes they did sorta have an available Dana 44, BUT it's not a desirable Dana 44. It's actually a Dana 44a and has an aluminum center section. Not considered very strong and I've read that there's not a ton of aftermarket support. If I remember right, it's under 96-98 (maybe 95 too) Grands with a V8.

Your numbers are perfectly normal for a truck that sees such limited city driving. :thumbsup:
