While it's sound advise, that'd be like 50 trees and that just can't happen. It's simply too costly.

If it were my place, there'd be one in there already. :D But it's their place (I have to keep reminding myself of that) and I certainly hope that 3 years from now I have a place of my own. I may even go down ahead of them if I can find a decent job. The economy here in Michigan sucks. :( Likely in 3 years there will be a half disassembled TR-6 in there.

220 is normal for a 4.0, but "in the red" is, well, in the red. And that's not good. :D No you don't have to change to an open system. I swapped the rad into my 88 but kept the rest of the pressure system. I love the addition of the radiator cap. I think it actually saved my pressure bottle on the dunes when the cap popped after the engine overheated (needle was pegged all the way over).

I'd say they are blocked. Time for a new one. Be sure to get a later model one with the radiator cap. They are a direct replacement and it makes filling up much easier. How hot is it getting?

They aren't moving down to Georgia (from Michigan) for another 2-3 years, but a house popped up on the market that they just couldn't pass up. It has 2k square feet, a pole barn, about 1.5 acres, and is only a half mile from my sister's place. :D We've got a couple hundred pictures so I'll try to hit just the highlights. Front of the house. It's a cute place, but that awful green has got to go. It just doesn't look right in a woodsy setting. (this shot was an older one from back when the previous owners were still moving out). Back of the house. Nothing special here, but I drew in where dad wants his garden, and the chimney will eventually be getting a stone facade on it. Poll barn. 200 amp service to it and lots of parking next to it. The inside has plenty of room for a project car and the upstairs has lots of room for storage. As you can see, my sister has already taken advantage of the free closet space down the street. :D Some highlights of the interior: That fake butcherblock and those ugly handles are first to go. My parents are not into the "country" decor. The living room: Closeup of the fireplace. The glass wall of the sunroom: just outside the sunroom is the treefort The sunroom exits to the deck. In the foreground you can see the current fire pit. Dad has plans to build that up with stonework. Looking out off the deck into the backyard: Walk back far enough and you eventually reach my favorite part of the property, the creek: Right next to the water is a clearing. Probably the previous owners leaf burning area. This is part of the flood zone, so we're not sure what we can do with it with regards to landscaping. Dad saw some little fish one day and I caught a glimpse of this guy. There are deer tracks all over, and there are gray squirrels, lizards and chipmunks. More wildlife. This time inside. In case mom needed any reminders that she bought a house in the woods. Here's an overhead view that'll help show how truly awesome the property is. The yellow is their property. The blue is the river. The green areas north of it are fairly undeveloped, but I don't know which neighbors own them. The red area in the bottom left is a new subdivision. There are built roads all over that area of Georgia that are built but it takes a long long time to take the next step. Some never do. Regardless, that chunk of road is up on a steep hill and so the view from the back yard will never change, neighbor or no neighbor. The area to the bottom right is a huge radio antenna. The path coming off of it is a service road to one of the guywire anchors. Everything else in their area is just woods. The area directly to the right of my parent's place is all forest in a 100 year flood zone. It'll never be developed and is all mine to explore. :D Essentially they are partially surrounded by wilderness that should stay wilderness for quite some time. Just too good to pass up with being so close to my sister.

FYI, the wing windows are prone to leakage and whistling. Cool as they may be. :D Whether or not you can deal with the seats not folding forward is entirely up to you. 2-door XJ seats do fold forward.

Oooo, maybe he could hook up the unused switches to something else? :brows: And MJ bench pedestals are identical to MJ bucket pedestals. You'll just need to fab up an adapter to go between them and the XJ seats.

The power pedestals aren't going to work well, if at all. They are huge and the floor of the MJ isn't flat like in a cherokee.

Are you thinking you need more backspacing because of rubbing on the lower control arms? More backspacing can cause the rubbing to shift from the arms to the flares. A better solution to rubbing on the control arms is to swap in lower control arms from a WJ. They are the same length, but have a bend in them to clear bigger tires. Yup. Can't ever be certain when it comes to Jeep. :roll: Just going by the number/years of axles listed on car-part, there was a huge dropoff in the number of discos after 90 and 91.

As far as I can tell, the disco survived in XJs through 93. Then was abolished in 94. There are junkyards in car-part.com that have 92s and 93s listed as disconnects. Although there are way more 90s and 91s listed than 92/93.

I think bronze is what you're looking for Mini. Brass is too soft and will likely adhere itself to the engine and transmission.

Those are trip computer numbers. Typically they are a couple mpg higher than actual, but the only way to know for sure is with careful tabulation of each fillup, and there's little chance of that happening. :roll:

My plan (and it was a very unofficial one) was to yank the entire CRD harness and dash and stuff it all into the MJ as whole as possible. I was never going for looks, just functionality. Wiring just isn't my specialty. :roll: I can do it, I just don't like to. (Which is one of the reasons my 90 sit there. It needs a new fuse box. :( )

Yea, but whats gonna happen when they go back UPHILL :brows: I usually seem to get better mileage going downhill into Florida from Georgia :dunno: From Atlanta to Florida it's pretty much all "downhill". But technically speaking, Atlanta is at a higher elevation than Detroit. (~800 vs 600) But anyway, the 33.3 is unofficial, but on the return trip on the flatter sections of Ohio we were getting 32.4 mpg. And that's with 3 adults, 2 dogs and a rack on the back of the Jeep. It's on the tail end of the oil change interval, so it might have been even better with some fresh 0w50. :D

I had a similar problem and squirted in a whole bunch of silicone and let it sit overnight. :roll:

Oh, you're going the other way. Bummer man. To my knowledge, no one has yet located a stock replacement. Take your calipers to the store and poke around and you might be the first. :D Don't forget about length if you find a bearing. A stock bushing could be easily cut down.

The bushing will work for swapping a later AX-15 in to an early 4.0L. As far as I know, you don't need to lube it (I didn't when I swapped a 99 AX into my 88 ).

So you're swapping an 93 AX-15 into an 89 Jeep with the stock 4.0L? Or vise-versa? If the former, have you tried the CJ pilot bushing yet?
