  1. They are quite different. On mine I just bolted a short extension to the cat and added the muffler and a downpipe after. No fuss, no muss.
  2. This may help out. But never underestimate the CAD's power to ruin the day. :D
  3. A v8 ZJ swaybar is what you're looking for.
  4. Ballast resistor is bypassed upon start-up so the pump gets full power.
  5. I washed mine yesterday. :D
  6. XJ shackles would drop it about 1/2".
  7. 27 spline versions are a bit above the Dana 35. 29 spline versions are a bit below the Dana 44. I would rate the MJ version of the M-20 just a bit below the MJ/XJ Dana 44.
  8. If you have no need for the charcoal canister, then you can simply cut it off from the system. But regular gas tanks like to leak vapors and those vapors need a place to go rather than just stinking up your truck.
  9. This is a C-clip. It is used to retain the axleshaft in the housing by anchoring the shaft from the carrier instead of at the outer ends of the axle using the bearing retainer plate. The reason no one likes them is that, in the Dana 35 the axle shafts are pretty weak, and when they snap in a C-clip axle, this happens:
  10. Early MJs/XJs had the non-C-clip. Later MJs and XJs had the C-clip. I forget what the year cutoff was.
  11. My almighty M-20. :D
  12. They are only "cold air" if they close off the intake from the rest of the engine bay. Otherwise they are more of a "hot air".

    Scumbags....

    Busted!! :D
  14. All you have to do is nip off a bit of the bushing sleeves.
  15. fixed it for ya. :D
  16. Did you mean to give the option of choosing 2 things in the poll? :hmm:
  17. Doing what? I assume there's a story here?
  18. It only takes a small bit of grinding to mod the WJ arm. It's really easy. :D
  19. Yeah I saw that. Not sure why since I thought I had unlimited. :hmm: I haven't sorted it out yet. Just use you imagination and picture the parking cable wrapped around the parking brake lever on the 8.8 with a cable clamp holding it tight. :D
  20. No, they are not the same. sorry. Sounds like a sweet idea though.
  21. The only axle that will "bolt-in" is another MJ axle. To the best of my knowledge, none of the popular axle upgrades have perches in the proper location for either SUA or SOA, so as CamJeep said, some welding is required. It's not hard and any local shop can do it for you if you don't have a welder or have a friend with a welder. Brake lines are pretty close and can be made to work. I'd suggest getting a 95 Dakota rear flexy line to replace yours. It's longer than the MJ's. The driveshaft flange adapter on the Explorer is the wrong size U-joint. I think the Aerostar or Ranger or Crown Vic would have the proper size (only if they have an 8.8 underneath). This is my favorite adaptation for the parking brake cable that I've seen so far:
  22. Heck yeah! 0 and 16 baby!

    Wish me luck

No, I also updated my project thread for the 90 shell. :D Plus shots of my dogs sleeping. What more could you want? :laughin: I'm mad that I missed all the snow. :( But no matter, I talked with my MI neighbors today and the snow is gone already. One 60 degree day and a bunch of rain was all it took to melt 8-10 inches. Some of the grass is green, but the tress are all bare. Looks like Michigan, but with the occasional lizard. I'm not far enough south for anything interesting.
  24. You don't have to, but a SYE is a good upgrade. XJ's are much shorter than MJs and it's that wheelbase that makes the difference in rear driveshaft length. But while we're on the subject, the AW4 is about an inch longer than the AX-15 and Peugeot manual trannys.
  25. Looks good. The XJ rear driveshaft will be more than a foot too short, but it can be lengthened with a new tube.
