  1. No one can escape the addiction forever. These trucks are just that cool.
  2. Interesting thought. Adding the subforums into the pub. Or maybe into the wheelin' forum. Hmmm....

    Gas prices

Yup, about the same here. Saw one station at $2.30 Diesel is holding stead at $2.10. :D
  4. If you right-click on an online image, you can save the image location. Paste it here, highlight it, then click on the IMG tag right above the text box. Be aware that not every website allows this hotlinking and so it won't always work. To post your own images, see this thread:  viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11077
  5. Absolutely meet-n-greets are cool. But those can be set up in the wheelin'/meetin' forum or even the pub. We have it a bit rougher than naxja. Our membership is far smaller and/or far more spread out than other clubs. Meetings are just that much harder to arrange. My concern is that we'll have these new forums created, but no one will look at them and we'll be back where we started, but with twice as many forums on the front page. What if we started stickying any post about an upcoming event in the wheelin/meetin' and then after it's done un-stickying it? Or maybe allowing them to be posted in the pub so people will notice them?
  6. Gas might be toast. :( I would pump it out and fill with fresh before doing anything drastic. By the way, that webpage does have the proper firing order.
  7. Yeah, need more front suspension shots. I'm curious how you've worked around some of the issues I ran into.
  8. Well, we're glad to have ya. That sure is one way to make a shortbed out of a longbed. :D
  9. Done a tuneup on the 2.5 yet? Maybe it's not putting out its full potential. You might try a rebuilt fuel injector. Other guys have found improvement there. Is your cat OK? fuel filter? You can dump the mechanical fan for an electric one to free up a few ponies.
  10. I'll help ya out. Just bring that over to my house. :D
  11. You were rotating them the right way, yes? I only ask because I watched a friend struggle with a fitting yesterday. Doesn't loosen very well when you're tightening it. :D What makes it even funnier is that I asked him if he was going the right way (sarcastically, as I already knew the answer) and he snapped at me, "Yes, dang it!" and then realized his error. :clapping:
  12. Personally I don't wait for the Dana 35 to give me trouble. I've replaced every one of them thus far (except for the empty MJ in GA, and I already have a replacement for that one, it's just up here in MI). I learned my lesson after the first one blew up. :fs1: Go with an Explorer 8.8 and never look back. :D Keep in mind that running over 3 grand on the freeway isn't harmful to a Jeep inline engine.
  13. Sweetness. Needs a spacer up front though. :D
  14. Out of curiosity, did you already swap in the 3.73s? Did you swap in the axles or just the gears? 4.88s would be the best match for 33s and a 2.5.
  15. Did it run at all when you bought it? Did it sit for any length of time? Could be old gas.
  16. The 4.0 never came with any sort of "granny gear" in any trans. Do you know which trans they have? What size tires do they run? Gears in their axles? All of these thing together give you the final drive ratio. Also the 4.0 has way more torque than the 2.5.

    new tow rig

Nice buy. Is it supposed to be that high in the rear? Or low in the front?
  18. As hard as any other swap that requires a whole new drivetrain and custom everything. :D
  19. Shortbeds only had an 18 gal tank. Longbed had either the 16 gal or the 23.5 gal (which in the later years became standard)
  20. I still have my original schwinn hanging up in the garage. Yellow banana seat and everything. :D I too will restore my ol' bike to its former glory (though I might change the colors). I think it's getting time to break out the mountain bike. Maybe this year I'll buy some "street" tires for it. It's a bit too much of a workout with those dang nobby tires. :rotf:
  21. I just can't get past thinking that we'll still be fighting the same 2 issues, namely getting people to put locations in the titles and the fact that few people seem to actually look at the forums below Tech and the Pub. It's not like there are dozens of daily posts in the wheeling forum to cause recent threads to get bumped off the front page. Are you guys thinking that having regional forums will get people to look at them? To post in them? I've always been a big advocate of simplicity, and adding another handful of forums just doesn't really strike me as a solution.
  22. Nope. They work on completely different systems. You'll need one from an 84-90 XJ or 86-90 MJ. 84-86 are direct swaps, 87-90 will take a bit of swapping the speedo cable retention clips or something like that.
  23. Used gas tanks are notoriously difficult to ship (being hazardous cargo). Also, I'm not sure if a shortbed tank will easily swap to a longbed. :hmm:

    ICON 4x4

I saw a blip about that in a mag a while back. I seem to remember the price being astronomical.
