  1. There are no rules about who can post where. Feel free to post in both.
  2. It's difficult to enforce black and white justice when the rules have a certain measure of ambiguity. I've seen what can happen at other sites when the ban-hammer is used. I'm not about to pick that kind of fight. It is my continuing belief (blind hope?) that all of our members can regulate their own words as they type. It's not like talking, where the words form in your head right before you spit them out. In a forum we all have the ability and the responsibility to proofread (and maybe use spellcheck  ).
  3. If there is a way to change it, I haven't found it yet. :dunno: But if I do, I'll make an announcement about it. :D If you have a mouse with the roller ball, clicking the roller ball will open them in a new tab (at least with firefox it does, I don't know much about explorer anymore).
  4. Swapping the backs outright is pretty straightforward. I just helped dfreeman616 do that a few days ago.
  5. Where's the fun if it's not a challenge? :D
  6. Some of the big choices to make when looking for an MJ (organized roughly in order of difficulty to change): -Solid body or rustbucket -long or short bed -4.0 or 2.5 -stick or auto -A/C or not -2wd or 4wd Anything else is fairly easy and you can parts-shop XJs and MJs in the junkyards to build the comanche you want. Don't think that you need an Eliminator to get all the goodies. A solid base model truck will usually suffice. Be sure to ask before buying anything. There are a bunch of minor changes over the year that can make for major headaches later on.
  7. I'm not sure what would be involved with adding headrests. I've never torn into a bench to see. But in theory it should be possible to reskin the new bench with the fabric from your current bench.
  8. Is your current trans even capable of handling the 360? That's a LOT of torque there. A good 100+ ft-lbs over a 318. What are you using for axles?
  9. When you say "maxed out", do you mean the tire won't go up any more? Or is something bottoming out (like your shocks or bumpstops or something else that's touching and preventing upward motion). A super stiff coil can hurt up-travel, but if you've got some sort of physical restriction, you might want to find out what it is. :hmm:
  10. Riverview MI
  11. The MJ/XJ Dana 44 or the '97+ XJ 8.25 needs perches welded on (I'm assuming you're going SOA in the rear to fit those 33s). Explorer 8.8 needs a bit of work but is still doable. The pluses to the Exp 8.8 are disk brakes (95-01) and available factory 4.10 gears.
  12. I wonder what those "fixes in a can" do to the rest of the engine. It doesn't just target the RMS. It affects everything.
  13. Oh yah, that was the "Category created for Pat", right? Sorta. Anyone that gets over 5k will have it.
  14. I did that for him (or is it "to him"?) after he misspelled comanche and then fixed his misspelling with another misspelling. :D
  15. Or you can email it to me and I'll do the rest. :D petermontie@hotmail.com
  16. Are you sure it isn't leaking out the back of the valve cover? Frequently a small leak there can look like a RMS.
  17. Keep in mind when looking for tailpipes that longbeds are different than shortbeds and both are different than Cherokees.
  18. The Eliminator contains more standard items, like the full gauge package and bucket seats. But a buyer could order pretty much everything added to the Pioneer. Jeep was funny that way. :dunno:
  19. Are you referring to the rod that switches from headlights to brights?
  20. Good luck. Fuel pumps are expensive. And sometimes short-lived. Make sure it has a good warranty.
  21. We all go though those burned-out periods. I haven't touched my trucks all winter. As long as you don't do anything drastic, it'll come back. It's cyclical. I'm actually sorta looking forward to rewiring the fuse box. Any reason why you can't just grind down the rust and POR-15 it? And what the heck makes you think your engine or trans is about to go kaput? :hmm: Maybe you just need to come over and see my 90. That should cheer you up about your truck once you see that yours isn't all that bad. :D
  22. Due to apparent popular demand :dunno: I've added some "regional" forums to the wheelin/meetin forum. Nothing fancy as of yet, just enough so you can go check them out and provide input. If we keep them, I was thinking that upcoming trips/meetings would go in the regional folders, and then once they happened, it would get moved to the main wheelin/meetin folder with pictures. So go check them out and tell me what you think. Go on. I'll just sit here patiently and wait. :typing: Actually, I'll probably just go fire up the DVR and watch the Simpsons. :D
  23. More "progress". I brought my 97 grille down with me last trip and strapped it to the front with some wire. :D
  24. If anyone wants to swing by, you'd better plan for a whole day. There's a LOT to see. :D I forgot to ask how long the yard has been in existence.
  25. -Can spell Comanche 25 -Comanche fan 50 -Comanche aficionado 150 -Comanche Addict 500 -Obsessive Comanche Disorder 5000
