match that late-model grand waggy front axle with the rear axle from a mid 90s Isuzu Rodeo or Honda passport. It's the same width, same wheel bolt pattern, it's a Dana 44, and it comes with 4.10 or 4.56 gears and disk brakes under a v6 model. You just need to swap out the pinion flange with a U-joint flange.

I'd take the opportunity to convert to power. :thumbsup:

I'd swap the trans for now, but retain the XJ donor for future use. :D

how much of a project are you looking for? You could swap over the trans and be out driving the next day, or you could swap everything over and then not drive your new truck for the next 6 months or so. :dunno:

all rust is serious. once it starts, it will not go away completely. Most procedures for dealing with rust are mere bandaids. :( POR-15 is the best bandaid of the bunch. :yes:

the perspective makes that box look HUGE compared to the t-case. :clapping:

you might want those spacers regardless of wheel choice. even with a stock MJ axle, the bed is wider than the front.

TJ rims stick out 1" more than the regular 15x7s since they are 15x8. :D wheel spacers in the rear will make the rear match the front.

Welcome to the club! :waving: just expect that the rust will come back. Huculiner will simply mask the growing problem. paint will immediately show you any bubbling spots. Probably the best will be POR-15, which chemically bonds to the surface to prevent oxygen from getting to the steel. But even then, rust in the seams can exist. I hate rust. :(

A piece of advice from a relative newbie to this, I would not throw away the donor until you are 100% complete with your swap. you never know what little part you are going to need. Having my donor beside mine while the swap was going on was invaluable :agree: x eleventybillion

nope, sorry. the ford is a high pinion, the chevy is low. the gears are cut in opposite directions.

is picturetrail.com blocked? they have a free-host version too.

the 2.8 would never pass emissions. shame too.
