it's not the rims or the axles. the bed of a comanche is wider than the front. check for a recent thread in the Tech forum about wheel spacers.
with an "open" diff such as yours, if one rear tire loses traction, all of the power is sent to that tire and it spins wildly but gets you nowhere. a locker forces both tires to rotate together.
the 88 and 86 got tagged for removal today. :fs1: so I brought the 90 out of the garage and put it in the driveway then stuck the 88 in the garage. tomorrow I'll need to find a home for the 86.
on the plus side, now that it's in the garage I can start working on the 88. on the short list: I'm swapping the spooled diff for my open diff and then replacing the u-joints in the rear driveshaft.
item 151 on today's glitch list... :(
although I found a post at the phpbb forums that says the one admin link won't work if the software wasn't properly updated (i.e. we were at version 3.04 and updated to 3.07 with the 3.06 patch instead of the 3.04 patch). might be a clue since that link doesn't work properly for me.
If you can make it a day, you can make it a week. If you can make it a week, you can make it a month. and if Ben tries to offer you a drink, punch him in the gut. :D
I'd start by calling it a "light bar" or a "sport bar". ain't no way that's going to do anything but crush like an empty pop can in the event of a roll over.
bonus redneck points to you though. it's free and it might kill you. :rotf:
