  1. the arrow points to leaf #3 (the bottom thin one).

    2 for 1

  3. a more serious issue is if the floor is so rotted away that the linkage can't get enough leverage to shift the t-case. :(
  4. any change in height will knock the front alignment out of whack.
  5. car DASH part.com those aren't replacements for your broken leaf. In fact, you're likely to break other leafs if you install those in place of the #3 leaf in your pack. they won't properly support the #2 leaf.
  6. the dash really isn't that big of a deal. you just need to gut the truck and swap over everything one bit at a time. several guys here have done it and I'm sure they'd love to help you along. if it hasn't cracked yet, it's probably fine. also, tech Qs should really go in the tech forum so more guys will see it and the answers will show up in the searchable database.
  7. if you add it in, it pulls the booster arm towards the front of the truck and that in turn pulls the pedal up off the floor.
  8. pay no attention to the front of my truck :D (unless you wanna try to adapt the ford radius arm suspension) everything up there is custom. f-150 coils are too stiff. mine are aftermarket MJ/XJ coils. 150 bucks is stealing. did you try car-part.com ?
  9. it's really not that bad. I'm running 2wd leafs on my 88. 4wd leafs in good shape can net closer to 6" of lift depending. you can make up any loss of lift by cutting the eyes off your current main leafs and inserting them right under the new mains. (also helps combat spring wrap) If the 2wd leafs are in good shape, I'd go for it.
  10. there's a huge difference between stupidity and plain ol' ignorance. at least now you know (and you didn't spend hundreds on brand new gears and bearings (which could easily be ruined by now).
  11. did you swap in the aluminum spacer that goes with the booster?
  12. nice photos :D I'll be linking to this thread when people ask what it takes to put a 4.0 in their 86.
  13. is there something wrong with the current 4.0?
  14. yes, you can use those 2wd leafs. They will sit slightly lower than 4wd leafs but not much. I'm running modified 2wd leafs on my 88 in SOA fashion.
  15. How much of a project are you looking for? You could swap the entire XJ guts into your 91. Or you could swap just the drivetrain hard parts of the XJ into your 91.
  16. several of us have reused the stock shocks be relocating the mounts above the axle. It's not ideal, but has been proven to work. I think the easiest version I saw was to flip them upside down and swap sides left to right.
  17. If I was him, I'd wrap them up carefully and stash them away for safe keeping. :D If I had a black interior that nice, I'd probably freak out if I couldn't put it back to original.
  18. if you're already bored, then it's possible that you need a new hobby. :D drinking makes for a poor hobby.
  19. how much lift? what parts did you use? did you align the steering after the lift?
  20. welcome to the club! :wavey: for introducing your MJ: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15 for a photo of yourself: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1777
  21. in that case, right click, then click properties and copy the address of the photo itself (rather than the address of the webpage) and use that here. p.s. firefox is infinitely better.
  22. firefox or explorer? are you clicking on copy image or copy image location?
  23. I worked on the 88. that's right, I actually did something productive to one of my MJs. pulled the spooled 3rd member out. Hopefully tonight I'll get a chance to put the open diff in.
  24. no need for the bushwackers. if on Jeep rims, the 31s will fit a stock MJ. on a side note, the bushwackers may look a bit funny with on 31s under them.
  25. do you want 5" of lift?
