  1. be sure the leak isn't coming from the rear of the valve cover or some other location. You don't have to pull the trans to change the seal in a 4.0, but it's still a huge pain in the butt and there are other leak locations that can look like a rms has blown.
  2. any luck?
  3. only an inch? that's not so bad.
  4. width is still different. If I remember right, the Isuzu axle is narrower.
  5. yup, but no disks. :(
  6. Var-mint! Var-mint! Var-mint! Var-mint! :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump:
  7. it matches up well with the grand waggy front axle. assuming you've got the money or skills to do a gear change and then weld up the right bracketry.
  8. our latest software update didn't go quite as smoothly as it should and the polls are one of the things that stopped functioning properly. :( hoping the next update will clear some stuff up. TJ dana 30 gears will not work in MJ/XJ/YJ axles (low pinion vs high pinion). plus used gears are generally seen as a poor choice since trying to match up the old gear pattern is tough (meaning it could be pretty noisy). unless you meant swapping in the entire axle, which will work.
  9. gears, gears, and more gears.
  10. one filament should be the parking lights. assuming it's the correct bulb, check the condition of the socket and then the connector in the harness. the connector is located behind the drivers side rear tire. corrosion in there can cause some weird problems. also, check for any evidence that someone spliced in a trailer harness.

    An even dozen

I'd settle for a shot of the new one. :dunno:
  12. Agree. Would assume the emblem and the front license plate holder are removed on the speed runs? Prolly just an old pic. that photo is actually a chop. early on they needed a photo to send in to the bonneville guys and so they chopped the truck onto the salt flats.
  13. I can do that anytime I want with a scroll ball click on the mouse. :dunno:
  14. not necessarily, but it does have to be a 21 spline input. any modern 2.5 jeep will have that, plus 87-89 4.0 MJ/XJ/YJs. try to get the linkage if you can. I'm not certain if there are any differences.
  15. only difference is the t-case and shortened rear d-shaft. try car-part.com for a t-case. you'll need a 23 spline input t-case, so any 4.0 case after late 89 will work. if you get limited years returned in your search, then bump it up to a later year. you could also go with a 23 spline 242 t-case and have awd available to you later on. :D don't forget to get the bellhousing with the trans. It may sound like common sense, but I've seen transmissions sold without it and just want to make sure your project goes as smooth as possible.
  16. are they 2 speed fans? to me that seemed like the big draw of the taurus fans.
  17. what are you doing for gearing?
  18. if your truck is still rocking the original 20 year old coil, you should get a bump from a new stock one.
  19. got a stock e-fan?
  20. another possible cause of slow wipers is corrosion in the wire harness. might be as simple as cleaning up the connections.
  21. is the axle complete with brakes?
  22. the 95 wrangler axle will require extensive welding.
  23. we've had a couple members who experienced a loss of power when switching to platinums. don't remember which kind of tip though.
  24. got any photos of the parts truck's rear leafs?
  25. the old rad has an in and an out. the newer rad has an in and an out in the same locations. the rad was the only thing I changed.
