  1. IF you plan to run crossover steering on an XJ/MJ 30, Clayton offroad makes the steering links and sells other parts for WJ/crossover steering setup.
  2. IF anything, you may need to use some flat plate to make an adapter for the ZJ seats to bolt on to the MJ brackets.
  3. http://rigshowcase.com/pic.php?u=207TohUw&i=15269 Better wheels on her. These are still temporary since I do not have the utility bed removed or lift on her yet. I was able to finally pick up my set of JK Moab wheels the other day. Should have one of my used sets of tires M+B soon. Still need wheel adapters. But, I have my annual Big Bear trip coming up at the beginning of next month. So, that will wait until after that. Hopefully by then the utility bed will be off and the factory style bed on. The tire size I have for them currently is 265/75/17.
  4. Not sure how much shipping is from this place, or where else these can be found. But I found a site that offers different length rods that have both LH and RH threads at the end. Which would mean easier adjustability, Instead of removing one or both ends on the apparatus, all you would need to do is loosen a couple jam nuts, adjust, and tighten jam nuts, Or maybe even a turnbluckle that has RH/LH threads. Here's link I found. Going to search amazon and other places. If I get a chance to get to my local Fastenal I will check there as well. http://www.midwestcontrol.com/series.php?id=79
  5. IIRC, the early xj mj used a twist type cable on both ends, not clip on gauge
  6. Should be picking up a full gauge cluster, MJ 44 rear with track loc, and a few other parts from a friend soon. Installed my bored throttle body the other day. She has smoother idle and better throttle response. Hoping to get exhaust put on it soon. The person who wants to buy/trade my utility bed does exhaust and stocks some spintech mufflers. I have one on my xj with a turndown and I really like it.
  7. They will not work. The only door items I know swap late model to early model is the mirrors and the door seals between the cab and the doors. Maybe the late model stock tweeters (other that wiring/crossover).
  8. What I did with mine, since there was some plastic left. I used a length of rubber vacuum line, and used left over bits of the plastic "hardline" to connect to the TB and the MAP sensor.
  9. If you have an Auto, then that is most likely the fuse for the TCU,
  10. JK Rubi shocks are going to be too long for the front at stock height, not sure about the rear.
  11. Others have already said, 4.10's at least for 31's and above. If you can get that 8.25 SOA setup for a decent price, and you want to go that route do that. Gear it even. The nice thing about 8.25 is that any gears you would want to MJ/XJ doesn't need a new carrier, unless you want a full case locker.
  12. Definitely better than the other way around. I'd rather have fuel and think it's low, than think I have more fuel than I do. My MJ fuel gauge reads backwards, I'll have to talk to my friend/PO of my truck as he swapped in a new FP assy. and see if he ended up with an HO pump or wired it wrong.
  13. Swapped in a 3/4 gauge cluster and speedo cable. Also swapped in oil sender unit so that the reading is correct. These were from my friend's parts XJ that is sitting in the back of my property. I still need to swap CTS for gauge. Wish I had a tach, but most other gauges are better than idiot lights.
  14. Trim and run flexy flares
  15. Need a new coolant temp SENDER, and a new oil pressure SENDER. Not a switch! Although, there could be a wiring issue perhaps. Unplug the connector from the oil sensor, start up the jeep. Oil gauge should be zero, (or pegged to the left). Now, ground the connector. You can do this while it is still running, . And it should peg to the right. Remember, just because a part is New, does not mean it can't be defective. Consider renting/buying a mechanical pressure gauge to see/confirm correct oil pressure.
  16. Duplicolor makes a spray "rubberized" coating with sound deadener. Not sure how well it works. Thought About doing that with my MJ, then gettings some of the Q-tec or Weathertech floor liners. But, since you have the product. I would use it, and either re-install carpet or Maybe pick up some marine-grade carpet to swap in.
  17. Well, if you can afford it, consider swapping in an ext. slave ax-15.
  18. Or make sure the bed goes to a really good home.
  19. Your grille is upside down.. haha. IIRC, EcoMike over at NAXJA forums has some kind of Nissan Diesel in one of his XJ's not sure what trans he has. But you could always contact him and ask?
  20. When you raise the steering links, the track bar needs to be at the same angle. You WILL need an OTA axle side mount, and modified/new track bar. I recommend either TnT or Ruffstuff for the OTA mount.
  21. I take it that the frame of the 86 doesn't have the holes for it? but the ealier engine/trans use the crossmember further forward than the later/4.0L/ The later models I believe have all the holes/nutserts in the frame. There are basically 3 sets of holes. Glad you got it figured out.
  22. Decided on a color for my MJ. Got a good deal on amazon for some Valspar Husqvarna Orange paint
  23. I work at a Carquest Auto Parts, and we sell that "Guaranteed to pass" crap. That is one of the few "snake oils" I do not believe in. Did some tinkering the other day, decided to top off with premium fuel and add some acetone to the mix. Runs super clean now! Was ~25 HC and .1% CO!! Max HC @ idle is 120 and 2500 is 180. Just need to deal with the DaMnV now.
  24. Taps are cheap
