'72 Nova, 305/TH350, was my mom's old car....got rearended in a minimart parking lot during a snowstorm one winter and buckled the frame above the rear axle so it went to the junkyard :shake: If I knew then what I know now I'd still have it. I've been half-seriously looking for a shell Nova for the last couple years to rebuild and recapture my youth :D All I want/need is a fairly straight body and good frame and glass (cause everything else is gonna go anyway) but can't seem to find anything even remotely in my price range....

the AT pattern is called the Warden, I was gonna go with them since I've been running the BFG AT's on mine for the last three years and was very happy with them....but I'm gonna start having some fun with the TJ and went with the MT tread. Buddy of mine has a set of Wardens on his Chebby p/u down here and has been more than pleased with them so far :cheers: Dismount/mount/balance/new valve stems cost me $15 per down here, YMMV. If you're thinking about ordering trreadwrights, be advised they are backordered on at least the 31" size and it'll take them about 3 weeks to ship out. I ordered mine on November 20th, and they got here yesterday :clapping: Jeff

yeah, Goodyear not BFG :oops: Took 'em up to the local Firestone place early this morning (pulled the wheels/tires off the TJ and threw them and the new tires in the back of the MJ). I had the TJ there last week to get an inspection and they tried to sell me a set of their MT's, and I told them I had new skins on the way and would bring them up to have them dismount/mount and balance....they said "cool". Got there and after waiting 15 minutes to be helped, the writer said they couldn't mount those "big tires" I had. I said not the 35's on the MJ, but the 31's in the bed.....he said "oh, well maybe we can do them but you'll have to leave them here, and it may be tomorrow until we get to them". Mind you this was 0915 this morning. Left there and drove to an independant shop that I should have gone to in the first place, and had them swapped over in 10 minutes. Ran 'em around town a bit and then up to 70 mph on I95, they're like driving on a cloud :yes: Typical MT drone, but not as bad as the Kuhmo's on the MJ. I'm a happy camper..put a new softtop on it last weekend as well, it's like a new Jeep again LOL Image Not Found

Wade, ya gotta do what's best....it's understandable. But just remember, sometime in the future when you realize what you've done and buy another MJ just to be cool again, we're gonna make you sit on the tan couch over in the corner all over again :D j/k...it's frustrating for me to read your posts on the new engine that you worked so hard on getting and the difficulties you're having. If you were closer, I'd help you stab it in over a weekend or two with help from my local junkyards. You'd just hafta buy all the beer 8) Jeff

I was gonna get the Wardens, since I've been running BFG AT's on it for the last couple of years, but for an extra $10 I decided to go with the MT's. They're on BFG AT carasses by my request (C load) so they should do pretty good...plus the pattern "outchannels" so they should do better in the rain. Jeff

negative....I've used the bottle jack trick on small spacers and even the ACOS when I installed them on mine. Tried it on the 5.5" TJ coils I'm running now, but they were a bit too much.....had to resort to spring compressors for them :D edit: here's what I'm talking about.... Image Not Found

for only 1" pucks you don't need a spring compressor. Jack up the front end as high as you can get it and block it at the LCA frame-end mounts and let the axle droop. Unbolt the shocks, sway bar links, bumpstops, coil spring retainers and calipers and place a bottle jack between the top of the axle tube and framerail. Jack up the jack, which will push the axle down (and hold it there) while you remove the spring. Remove the stock isolator, slide the spacer up the bumpstop post and reinstall the spring. Bolt everything back up and repeat on the other side. Jeff

I've read on the internets that the HO block has the hole cast in it for the knock sensor but it's not tapped...... I can't say this to be certain because I've honestly never checked, however I do have an HO block down in my storage shed. I need to run down there in the morning to pick up some stuff, and I can take the camera along with me and see. Jeff

buddy of mine just sold his DD ZJ and flew to Florida and bought/drove back home a 5.9 a couple of months ago. The thing is a beast, and gets surprisingly (at least for a V8) mileage if you keep a brick under the gas pedal. They tend to eat motor mounts, so check yours (his were shot). Jeff

until you can find one, you can use a 1/2" transfer case drop kit with a "regular" xmember to make up the difference..... (basically stack 1/2" worth of washers between the xmember and the framerail and use some longer bolts ;) ) Jeff

yup, swelling went down a bit overnight so I just buddy-taped it. 2 percocets and a bud light, I slept like a log last night :D

I've not been having good luck with my feet/toes lately..... this morning, I caught the very edge of the bedroom door frame with the tip of my little toe getting dressed. It's now about 4X normal size and BLACK/BLUE, and I think it's broken (no, I'm not going to the doc to spend ungodly amounts of $$$ to confirm the diagnosis either). I swear I've severed digits and limbs off that hurt less than this toe does right now. How can something so small and insignificant cause so damn much pain??? Seriously thinking about taking a couple percocets I have left over from when I chopped my other toe tip off a couple of months ago :banana: Jeff

The largest functioning pipe organ in the world is located in the Macy's department store in downtown Philadelphia. The organ is played daily at noon while shoppers visit the store, as well as for many after-hours special events and concerts. On Saturday, 10/30/2010, a special event "happened." While the store was filled with ordinary shoppers, more than 600 "shoppers" burst into a full chorus of the "Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel's "Messiah." The "happening" event was staged by the Philadelphia Opera Company and engaged volunteers from just about every school, church and singing group in the city. This little 5-minute clip really deserves a look and listen. The organ is known around the world as the "Wanamaker Organ" because John Wanamaker installed this 28,500+ pipe instrument in the "Grand Hall" at the center of his 7-story department store. The cross-shaped store opened in 1909 and fills a city block. The entire top floor is set up as a pipe organ maintenance and repair shop and once engaged 40 employees to expand and maintain the instrument. Yeah...it was a staged event.....but how awesome is that??? The whole PC "happy holidays" crowd can choke on it.....it's MERRY CHRISTMAS where I come from :thumbsup: Jeff

there's two little plastic "tangs" on either side of that white plastic connector there.....squeeze them and the white piece will disengage from the back of the speedo. Jeff

to be safe, I would grab the whole setup (flexplate, torque converter, tranny) and possibly the TC. Check the output shaft on yours first, should be 21 spline since you have a 207. Depending on the year of the donor, it could be either 21 or 23 spline (almost certain it'll be 21 if coming off an XJ/MJ) Jeff

automatics......the 904 is a 3 speed, 909 is the same tranny but has an OD you just have to make sure that the TC snout OD and length are the same :thumbsup: Jeff
