Yepp. thanks eagle! should i use bigger bolts and just drill out the frame mounts? Which control arms? Upper/Lower? In either case. replace the arm bushings and/or the arms themselves. Do not drill out the frame mounts.

If it's not in his driveway when I drive by tonight, I will do just that. It does seem strange to pursue something like this, but is has so much to offer for what could be a very small investment. Not strange at all; I fully understand and say pursue this 92 to the ground; I would. If you get it, you'll will have one of only 952 produced in it's last production year. GO FOR IT!! :D :D

31s with only 2" of lift?
HOrnbrod replied to 500-comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Using 15x8 Ravines also, but still rubbed on the LCAs on normalsteering lock, like just turning around in the driveway. I could live with that no problemo, but the difference in handling made the WJ LCAs well worth it. -

X2 - well said. The biggest problem of course is rubbing on the LCAs at full lock. Using the currved WJ lower control arms fixes this problem and is easy to do. Best of all is that they are exactly the same length as the originals, so your alignment specs will not be affected. The larger bushings also provide better lateral stabilization. -

At least you have a boy to escape with. Closest thing I have is a fixed female cat, who does keep me company in the garage and is learning how to pump the brake pedal quite well. :D

My wife hates the MJ because of jealousy. Says I should marry it. The whole house is filled with clamshells; wife, two daughters, even the damn cat and dog. To get away from them for therapeutic reasons I play with the MJ in the garage (except if I need one of them to pump the pedal for brake bleeding or something). But the cat does these jobs the best of all of them. :D  :D

Reason I used these is because they use a 211-2 bulb. These bulbs are available in several wattages and also in LED. Plus the Porsche light lens is glass and will not melt or yellow from a higher wattage bulb.

Why thank you mate! BIG dinner today, lots of xmas  , then went to test my bro-in-laws new 270 Winchester. Before we even got targets set up a big coyote came strolling out of the woods about 300 yards away. They are are big problem here killing dogs and chickens. Grabbed the gun, sighted up, and dropped it. Unfortunately, I also dropped myself, gourd too close to the scope, four stitches in the emergency room and another great scar to talk about. Overall, another great redneck Christmas :D :D

Bleeding my brakes all at once?
HOrnbrod replied to jtdesigns's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Don't know, never tried it. I'd wound definitely never introduce anything other than brake fluid into the system, might damage the seals. I still use DOT 3 as recommended for my brakes. Mopar does market a brake system cleaner fluid, never tried it. I always use fresh DOT 3. -
Bleeding my brakes all at once?
HOrnbrod replied to jtdesigns's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes, that's how the FSM says to do it. Did try it, but I got better results doing it as posted when I had stock brakes. I have disks on the back now; still do it the same way. -

I've never tried it, but wouldn't recommend it. You're just recycling possible contaminated fluid back into the system. I like to gravity bleed the system for a couple of hours first by opening all four valves that are connected via plastic tubing into a jar w. about 1/2" of brake fluid in it; the plastic tubing below the level of the fluid. This lets the bulk of the air our of the system w/o allowing any more in as long as you top off the m/c periodically. Then shut all the bleed valves and bleed the conventional way starting at the RR, LR, RF, then LF wheels. I still have my load leveling installed, and this works for me. :D -
Good god, let them drive and kill a few people   You need to check into someplace and get some help  You are one sick person :D Don't even dignify this asshat with a response CE.  "Tis the season to be jolly"

I've been following this post and both agree and disagree with both the younger and the older posters. Good points by all. I am of the latter, an olde farte like Eagle. :D I was driving on the backroads of NH at nine (by myself) in my grandfathers Chevy, propped up by a pillow, practicing power slides on the ice. NO cell phones in those days. Today, it's a hell of a lot tougher for novice young drivers; more traffic, more distractions, more drunks and druggies on the road, more speed because the roads are better, etc. etc. Plus you've got more REALLY olde fartes on the road today, most of whom can't even see or hear let alone drive. The road slaughter is higher, and the youngsters are doing their part maintaining the numbers for their age group in increasing annual numbers . Why - because they are insufficiently prepared for the onslaught IMHO. Insurance companies dictate to the individual States basically what their respective driving laws are. Some are good, some are useless. BUT they all are designed to save lives, because by doing that the insurance companies make more money, and it's an ongoing never-ending process. What's the solution I haven't a clue, just opinions. One thing is certain: if you do not obey and practice your State's driving laws, you'll either be dead or you will not be able to afford to legally drive anymore. The insurance companies will see to that...........

I can get addresses for anyone interested in sending care packages, Christmas cards or just a thank you note, to deployed soldiers. PM me. Been doing this for years. Anyone can obtain addresses simply by calling or emailing a military base of your choice PAO office (public affairs office) and they will be happy to oblige.

Agree 100% CW. Watched the clip, dayem, never got anything like that back in the day passing through CONUS (or any other) airports. My ultimate sincere thanks to the present day troops for doing their patriotic duty, carrying on the tradition as all your brothers and sisters did in the past. :USAflag: :USAflag:

No problem. I steal threads all the time.  15" Ravines w. 31s. -
Know there are mulitple mounting holes in the cross members Eagle, but there are different part numbers for the cross members depending on the tranny. In looking at the parts manual again, I see that the AW4 and Peugot tranny cross members carry the same p/n (52002328), but the AX15 cross member is different (52003929). Maybe this is the problem?
-
It's not the XJ/MJ interchangibility, it's the type of tranny. The cross members for the XJ/MJ w. AW4, AX15, or PukeGoat trannys are all different and are not interchangible.

EURO Side Repeater Lights
HOrnbrod replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
Yes, the corners alternate flashing with the parking lights. I think this started with the 1991 models. There is a writeup somewhere on how to do this; I'll try to find it. The writeup for this is in the Electrical section of here: http://www.madxj.com/ -
