  1. Hey Rob, you need a bigger garage. But don't we all.............. :(
  2. Head 0331 is the problem child. This is true on some of the early 0331 castings (not "self-destruct", as Eagle, the consumate Renix dinosaur pointed out as always :D ) but the 0331s were eventually fixed and are generally recognized and proven as the best stock flowing OEM heads ever, especially for low and mid torque. The earlier 7120 (91 to 95) and 0630 (96 to 99/2000) HO heads had no such problems, and had far superior flow numbers than the Renix heads. Not rumors, facts. As far as the Renix knock sensor enabling a more efficient/advanced timing curve, yes and no. It did the job in it's day, and might have worked better than the early HO ECUs in regulating precise timing that resulted in slightly better mileage. BUT (there's always a but :D) they are prone to failure as all the Renix hodge-podge sensors are, are tough to troubleshoot because they all interact, and are getting more and more expensive to replace and harder to find. The Renix sensor supply will dry up eventually. So all you Renix guys continue to on the Renix horse until y'all have to park it. Nope, give me the HO platform anyday. Easier to troubleshoot, much more receptive to HP/torque upgrades, and more plentiful and economical parts replacement. For a long time to come.
  3. It didn't come wiyh one (it was an option) but the plug for it is wired in behind the dash. Pick up the correct clock for your model from a donor at the yard and plug it in. http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoDashClock.htm
  4. You may have a hard time. The departure angle of the wheel well legs is different between the LWB and SWB, so it's not just a matter of cutting it down. Let us know how you make out. Good luck.
  5. Yes, good job mate. While some might disagree, I always use a small dab of anti-seize on the plug threads when installing new; it does not affect the heat range if used very sparingly. Saves aggravation in the future as you just went through. :D
  6. Jeeesh. You would think a seller would take the time to post a decent picture ON THE SPECIFIC VEHICLE THE PART IS DESIGNED TO FIT if he/she really wanted to sell the item. I mean, how hard is that? I'd pass...........
  7. I don't know when I'll have time to get up there. Basement has started leaking water (needs foundation work) and I need to paint the house. It's best at this point for all who need a tailgate to give Jason a call @ 800-633-2990 and see if he will ship. Sheite happens...............
  8. My thoughts exacerly. I don't care if the seller spells it Kemmanchee or any other variation. How is Reno weather on vehicles anyhow? Gotta be less corrosive than anywhere in the rust belt I would think. :hmm:
  9. This is true. :D The correct method for the 2WDs is to tighten the bearing nut to 17-25 ft. lbs while rotating the wheel to seat the new bearings/races. Then loosen the nut 1/2 turn and retighten to 19 in-lbs of torque.
  10. Buy it up Don! Rob L. If it were closer I would. That's a rare animal.
  11. That's an Eliminator too. Well worth the $$.
  12. Man, it's great to see the recovery of the rockfish in the Bay. When I lived up there Gloucester, VA in the 70s and 80s, they were nearly gone. Lots of blues, croakers, and gray and speckled trout, but you hardly ever caught a striper. And when you did, you had to release them. :(
  13. Since I live on a lake here in 'Bama I do a lot of fishing. Ain't no monster rockfish like CW gets though. But plenty of bass, crappie, bream, and channel cats. The below is a 8lb 9oz largemount my six year old nephew caught out back last year on a Manns 6" motor oil worm. I had it mounted for him. I've only caught two bigger, a 10/01 and a 9/09. Nothing over 7 this year.........yet. Image Not Found
  14. And you're not too far from the AL yard either mate. It's pretty close to the TN/AL border.
  15. I generally enjoy the Animal Planet channel, but one show, River Monsters, while mildly interesting at first, is obviously running out of fresh water monsters. After the Brit host has exhausted the not-so-obvious man eating fresh water species like piranna, catfish, sting rays and sharks, they are preparing a new episode of killer largemouth bass recently discovered in the Everglades. Damn, hope they don't make it up into my lake..................
  16. Yeah, by the small pics it kind of looks like it's been SOA converted. If so, that jacks the rear up 4"-6", but usually can be fairly easily undone. Well worth $400 IMO by the limited pics seen. :D
  17. Naw, there's not much lift on that MJ. Those are just 12" wheels from a Mini Cooper. :D
  18. Because of my wrecked off/on gimpy knees I have to pick and choose my yard runs. I went up last week to p/u a new front bumper and some other odds and ends for a front end mod I'm doing. This yard is prolly the best Jeep graveyard in the SE for 70s - late 90s Jeeps. Typical inventory includes XJs (always 75+ there), MJs (usually 10+), FSJs (many), XJ Waggys (nice front end clips I'm seriously thinking about), ZJs, WJs, even a few postal old/new style RHD Jeeps. I don't know what their shipping policies are at all. I have absolutely no affiliation with them, just have been dealing with them for years, and have a good rapport. Give Jason a call @ 800-633-2990, tell him your needs, get a price, and no matter what he says, tell him MJ Don from Arab referred you and said you would get a discount. Then he'll jack the price up. :D JOKE! He's a co-owner and an oldtime MJ guy. Seriously, good rust free stuff. And Pete, on your next run down south, let me know. I'll meet you there and you can see for yourself. You WILL be impressed.
  19. Off topic. akamcbird-man, I may have asked you this before, don't remember, but can you provide details/pics for the recessed lights in your bumper? I likee! Am gathering parts for some front modified front-end work and am looking into options for recessed lights in the front stock bumper. PM would be fine. Many thanks.
  20. Agree with that. Repo also has the ugliest fat woman I've ever seen as one of the leads. Another literally nauseating show is Man vs. Food and it's copycats. Who needs to see gluttonous slobs ramming 40lb. burgers into their pie hole?? I'm going to change the topic of this thread to "World's Worst TV Shows". Be interested in the responses from our learned CC members. :D
  21. U-joints should always be greased with a hand grease gun mate.
  22. How can anyone NOT like Chumley? He's not playing an idiot, he's playing himself. He's a true moron with an IQ of -5.9. :D He only looks like he's playing for the camera because he can't remember his lines. Dayem Pete, I bet you don't even like the Pawn Stars old man. He's my hero.
  23. And get the greasable joints, Spicer 1310's, they'll last forever if you keep them greased.
  24. I really like the History channel, and most everything they have I enjoy. Why they picked up this klunker of a show I can't figure. :hmm: I'd like to see this guy take his leg off while he's cutting steel with a chainsaw or some other moronic act. But they probably wouldn't air that episode..........
  25. Went to my local Jeep yard last week, and there are about twelve MJs there at present. Looking around, there were several very nice tailgates and pickup beds (LWB & SWB). I know you guys up Nawth need these. Shipping for the beds of course is too expensve, but I can get the tailgates for $75/ea including all the hardware. Don't know what shipping would be at this time. Anyone need one? BTW, the yard is in Brownsboro, AL. And no, I don't have pics, but they are nice.
