  1. Got mine from Ebay years ago, so no help. Try here: http://www.bodykits.com/Reflexxion/Hoods/Jeep-Cherokee-Reflexxion-Domination-Series-Steel-Cowl-Induction-Hood-_-731800/829453/ Maybe Marcus (Gojeep) in Victoria will sell you his. :D
  2. Using the stock frame stud mounts up top? If so the shock should mount fine on the stud w/o using a sleeve. What shocks are you using?
  3. I don't know what shock mounts you are using, non-stock obviously. Can't you ream them out and use the correct 1/2" bolts that fit the shock bushings w/o using sleeves? As in the stock shock mounts.
  4. Not to be insulting, but there's not a thin metal sleeve in the rubber bushing eye is there? I remember with some OME shocks I had to press these put before they would slip over the mounting studs.
  5. NO. :grrrr: Somehow I thought that the trans oil pump filled it as it was turning. :dunce: I have run my XJ dry before...as in I spewed tranny fluid for about 2 miles down a dirt road and it took 8 + qts to re-fill it. Sooooo,...I filled the new dry trans with 8 qts. of Dex, checked it again, read just under full, running, in Park the dipstick reads normal. So, how screwed am I? Does this mean I have to pull the tranny again?? It's a good idea to pour a quart in the TC first but not mandatory; it should fill up when started up and in PARK. If the pump is working. Do you have a tranny cooler installed? Pull the return hose from it (or disconnect the return line from the radiator) and start it up and see if it's pumping fluid.
  6. :hijack: UK fan living in Nashville? Not a good idea. Maybe you should move a bit further south and become a 'Bama fan. It's a lot more fun. :clapping:
  7. My opinion based on appearances only, FWIW. Walker = Flying High. Captures the intended theme perfectly. Love it. Breaks the sound barrier. Perfect. Unicorn = Grounded. No theme, a multicolor rainbow clash. Too many decals. Doesn't flow, doesn't fly. And most importantly, super congrats to you and uncle for saving this 92 as we all agree. That effort alone makes all the posted negative comments insignificant.
  8. It shuld still shift manually w/o the TCU. Me thinks your shift cable needs adjusting. Rather than explain the procedure, I'll send the AW4 manual to your Paypal email address.
  9. Looks like you tuckered them out a wee bit. :D Good story.
  10. Check the plug, connector, and wiring on the speed sensor, left side of the tranny, on the AW4 transmission extension piece.
  11. Sorry, fat-fingered it. 88 and 91 4.0s use the same pump. You can use the 91 fuel gauge assembly in the 88, but depending on the tank size and the length of the float arm, it may not indicate correctly. Also the fuel gauge will read backwards unless you reverse the polarity of the potentiometer. If by "tank assembly" you mean swapping the 91 tank into the 88, that depends on the size of the respective tanks.
  12. The 89 and 91 MJ 4.0s use the same fuel pump if this is what you are asking.

    Yahoo Mail

Anyone having problems with Yahoo mail? Lately it's been down more than up. It's down right now for me. :fs1: All other sires working fine, even CC.
  14. :agree: So what else is new. Don't we always take it in the shorts? Such is life. But we are a bit better off than our European friends, at the moment.
  15. I'm sure some exist somewhere, the problem is finding them. The part number is 4637184 (Stamped 52017559) and they fit only 91-92 MJs, all tanks. I was lucky finding a NOS unit for a spare on Ebay awhile back, but haven't seen once since. An older sending unit from a Renix Jeep will not work correctly in the 91-92 HOs w/o modification since the signal polarity of the sender rheostat is opposite that of the HOs and the fuel gauge will read backwards.
  16. On the 2WD MJs, the one piece rotor/hub shown above (w. the wheel studs) was used through the 1992 models. Starting in 1993 the 2WD and 4WD rotors became the same. The 2WD calipers were the same up to midyear 1992-1/2, after that they changed to the same calipers as the 4WD models. I'm sure there was overlap too.
  17. To add to that, on either axle (D44 or D35 non-c/clip) you will most likely need a shim kit when you regear. They're not expensive.
  18. You rang my bell. I think this is it - goes on the YJ cowl. Right shape and has six holes.
  19. Saw THIS on Ebay. Anyone know what it is or what it's used for? :hmm:
  20. While I'm not a big fan of Fox News, or any of the others, this wasn't created or put on by Fox news. It's a report on opinions regarding Obama's politically motivated proposal that calls for a 5 percent annual increase in fuel economy for cars from 2017 to 2025, and to double auto fuel economy by 2025. All the news media are reporting on this "proposal".
  21. Roger that, but I doubt Mitt the Twit is going to do it. This plan makes perfect sense. Utilize advanced technology to build more fuel efficient cars, then pay for the technology by increasing the fuel tax. Sounds like a lose-lose proposition for us taxpayers.
  22. What's a Comanchie? Have not seen that one before. Might be a good idea to spell it right on your first post, si?
  23. Glad you found it. The MAP sensor is more sensitive to vacuum fluctuations than any other vacuum device. That's the reason the OEM vacuum line from the intake to the MAP is not shared. Also it should be a rigid plastic line which also helps maintain the exact vacuum to the MAP. The use of a flexible rubber hose to the MAP isn't recommended and can cause vacuum fluctuations especially on hard deceleration or WOT applications when the vacuum really changes fast. A lot of newer vehicles now have the MAP sensor bolted directly to the throttle body to eliminate the vacuum tubing and maintain a steadier vacuum. This isn't possible in our rigs unfortunately AFAIK.
  24. Then why don't you start off by replacing the sagged out coil springs then go from there?
  25. Sounds like you ran into a tool BS seller. It happens, just as it does in real life. As long as the seller responds to the Ebay emails related to the case it could go on ad nauseaum. 99% of the Ebay sellers, especially with a close to 100% number of positive feedbacks are honorable. Hopefully you checked this out before you made your purchase. I've had no probs like yours in the 12+ years I've been buying and selling on Ebay. Lucky I guess.
