  1. "A fix from my old days as Service Manager at a Jeep dealership follows. Information was provided to me from a buddy at JeepTech during those days. I don’t believe it ever came out in a Technical Service Bulletin." I'd like to emphasize that hacking off the valve cover vent towers should be done only a last resort. I've never had to do this. As Cruiser states, first clean and/or replace the original CCV lines, elbows, valve cover grommets, and clear or replace the metered orifice elbow fitting. If this doesn't help, upgrade to the larger ID HO 1994 and up CCV system. This has always stopped blow-by problems for me w/o resorting to hacking the vent towers.
  2. Rotella is good, but I prefer Chevron Delo 400 LE 15w40. Year round. It meets the API classification SM for older engines, and still has a 1300 ppm zinc count, unlike Rotella, and is one of the few motor oils that still do. Higher zinc content is beneficial for our flat tappet 4.0 engines, whether during cam break-in or maintaining longevity because it reduces the metal-to-metal friction no matter what the age/mileage. Chevron Delo 400 is a diesel spec motor oil and I've been using it for years in my Jeeps, but especially in the stroker with a mild cam. Filters? I use the extended length Purolators.

    Question

Chunk of wood blowback while splitting? Read between the lines mate.

  5. Bama ROLLS 32-28 over the Georgia to win the SEC. Just another day at the office - NOT! The Bulldogs were moving in for the winning TD when time ran out. The GA receiver should have dropped the ball to stop the clock, but he didn't. Thanks mate! Great game. Hit list on schedule. Who's next? Notre Who?
  6. The console outlet on my JK is 115VAC. Image Not Found
  7. Yes. Connector is correct, but the image does not show the must have wiring pigtail.
  8. Yes. The 91 clock "guts" is all up top. I've also got the Benz ambient temp LED display mounted in it too, but with some creative surgery I think a 2-1/8" gauge will fit too by modding the faceplate and cavity.
  9. Yeah, Mike Leach designed and provided headers for Mopar Performance. I was lucky to get one of the last ones from Kolak. It's long extinct now......
  10. For a dash electric fuel pressure gauge I've had forever and never mounted. Plastic surgery like you have done has given me an idea w/o doing the Autometer A-pillar dual gauge pod.
  11. Has lasted 4+ years on my stainless Mike Leach header - no bluing.
  12. Looks pretty good - please post pics when completed. You have given me an idea...........
  13. Agree with all the above. Hi-temp coatings are good for exhaust headers, but not needed for stock cast manifolds. Mounts? I prefer the stock AMC/Mopar mounts. Cost 4x more, but last 4+ times longer than the offshore junk.
  14. I'm purely a NOS guy Jimmy, and it's all packed away and would be difficult to break out and take pics just "to instill jealousy in all of Comanche-dom". Guess I'm older and don't see the point. Once in awhile I'll list some NOS goodies on Ebay when I feel like it and/or need some shelf space, then I take plenty of pics. This is a good thread and I am enjoying seeing some of the stuff y'all have collected, especially the large advertising items. She looks kind of bored though...........
  15. The headlight delay module is tucked up under the dash on it's own connector, and is not plugged into the headlight switch. It's the silver module hanging down in the pic below. What you see with melted contacts is probably the headlight switch connector. It looks like the below. AIRTEX Part # 1P1190. Available at RockAuto and other places. Cut the old one out and wire splice the new one in.
  16. Check what out? :hmm:
  17. Been thinking of something like this for a long time. Too bad the RE brace requires the RE track bar bracket. Also a shock tower brace like the original Mustangs had would be worthwhile I think to rigid up the unibody, which is always good. Anyone ever heard of an aftermarket shock tower brace on an XJ/MJ? Besides the ones used on the SCCA MJs?
  18. No way! Love the sign Jim.
  19. Makes sense. I'll be going with the stock Mopar motor mounts. Gracias.
  20. It did. Like a pack of vultures on a dead dog carcass.
