  1. Damn Jim, how many of your nine lives have you cashed in? Sixteen? Tenga cuidado mi amigo.
  2. :agree: You should send this to Novak so they can make appropriate mods (or at least let customers know) for those in the future using the shift cable on a NP242 case.
  3. With that setup on an 88 (3.07 w. 31") the correct speedo gear is 27 tooth, p/n J3212727, long shaft. http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoSpeedoGears.htm
  4. Excellent Laredo. First 91 I've seen.
  5. I went with the 4 AWG mains cables, 150A ANL kit, and the Nippon Denso 134A Dodge V8 alternator. Runs everything well. When you get it done you may have to change the volt meter sensing point for it to read actual charge voltage to the battery regardless of voltage drops caused by loading from dual fans, H4 had lamps, etc.
  6. Get it if you want, don't get it if you don't. If you are willing to spend the time and sweat and $$ to get it right, then be proud to own a unique truck unlike the rest of the herd, do it. If not, look elsewhere.
  7. I find it hard to believe how people can be concerned how salmonella and E-coli ridden mice invaders die. They cause thousands of human and domestic animal deaths around the world annually by eating and/or contaminating food supplies and cause massive destruction to infrastructure. They are not cute freaking hummingbirds, they are useless destructive vermin. Their only beneficial function in life is to provide a reliable food supply to animals like hawks, owls, snakes, and other animals that reply on them for food. But now they often die because the mouse food supply is contaminated by vermin pesticides. I kill all the bastids I can and don't worry if it's merciful or not.
  8. I have the Hesco double roller timing set (uses the Cloyes chain) with the stock cover on my stroker. No problems with fitment.
  9. I just checked the article I stole the pic from - it's from a 4.0 TJ, not a 4 cylinder. The TJ upper starter locator plate and lower inspection plate is shaped differently than that of an XJ, but similar. The point is the inspection plate comes off with four bolts w/o messing with the starter so you can check the flexplate for cracks and the flexplate bolts for tightness. http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread.php?t=171577
  10. That's a pretty common one Joe. It's usually caused by sticking worn alternator brushes and they stick worse in colder weather. Clean up the mains cables; if no help it's probably the alt on way out. I'd say it's a good time to switch to Jon's mains cables and replace the alt. I did the same about two years ago.
  11. That's a picture of the upper plate on the bell housing. The inspection plate is below this plate. To remove the lower plate there is no need to pull the starter. The inspection plate is held on my four bolts/nuts (two are M15 and two are M11), and it slides up to the upper plate and fits in a channel. Takes about 5-10 minutes to remove it. Here's a pic I found - the arrow points to it. EDIT: Thunderbear, looks like the upper plates look different between your pic and mine. My 91 is exactly like the pic on the bottom. Maybe they changed the design when the AW4 went to 23 spline?
  12. Poor Gus tries like hell to catch them, but usually ends up charging headfirst into a tree when they jump up at the last second. It drives him crazy. I end up plinking them out of the trees with a pellet gun. Silent, deadly, and no complaints from the neighbors.
  13. :yeah that: Except I wouldn't dignity these asshats employed in anything. More likely funded by ignorant parents or bilking the system on welfare. But I doubt they have the brains to do even that.
  14. Did you happen to check this rig out since it's in your area?
  15. Yes, they are supposed to be round where the two clevis bolts mount through the bucket holes. I really don't see how the rear LCA could move at that point, because the clevis' function in life is to keep pressure on the shims so they don't fall out. Were they elongated horizontally or vertically? I'm also getting a bit of clunking that recently started when going over those little reflectors they embed in the middle of the road I'm trying to track down. Sounds like it's coming from the rear somewhere though. I hate when I can't find annoying stuff like that......
  16. Got the dictionary add-on installed Sam? Must have it for spellcheck to work. United States English Spellchecker 6.0
  17. The majority of Cowboy fans live in Texas. Always have, always will, and theres nothing wrong with that. But the arrogant "America's Team" self-proclamation has always pissed me off. I'm enjoying watching the carnage and self destruction. The Cowboys are not even Texas's Team now. Sad.........
  18. You never know what you're going to get with the Cowboys, probably the most inconsistent team in the NFL. Great Detroit/Houston first game today. I was really pulling for the Lions to win their first Turkey Day game in nine years, but wide-right in O/T. Sorry Pete. I think the Texans are by far the best NFL team now in Texas.
  19. Some ideas: http://comancheclub.com/topic/6048-corbeau-moab-seats-in-the-mj/page__hl__corbeau
  20. EDIT: Just upgraded FF to ver 17.0, added the SpellcheckEverything addon from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/spellcheckeverything/?src=api and spellcheck is now working. :clapping:
  21. If you find a way to make it work Sam, let me know. It works on everything except here. http://comancheclub....-spell-checker/
