  1. That looks great! Bone pull handle on that wagen? You have a lucky daughter. Super work mate.
  2. Then you need one specialized for each and a good income. Looks like you're working pretty hard on it. Overlanding's fun on 2-wheels also.
  3. Depends on your priorities mate. If you're into off-roading, agree it's a damn good kit. If you're into street performance, the Sprintex supercharger is a super buy; take a look at Hesco's prices. Me, I'm waiting for Alex to be the supercharger test pig and if it all pans out, I hope they have one left over for moi.
  4. No brainer. The 92 Elim. Not even close.
  5. Unbelievably this part sold for over $70 from the dealer when it was available. It has more surface area to spread the load better and may help prevent twist and shearing? Maybe.........
  6. After you get the new bumpers in, it might still be loose. You can fix this by bending the tabs on both sides of the tailgate back in slightly to tighten it up.
  7. Thanks very much Ben. Going through ALL my parts manuals, some models had the stud bar on top of the TB bracket, some on the bottom, and varying throughout the years. And some models with the 2.5 or diesel had it on the top and bottom. Which makes absolutely no sense to me. Unless the 2.5 and diesels vibrated worse than the 4.0? Anyone know?
  8. So the stud plate is on the outside (wheel well), and the studs point inward through the frame and TB bracket and are bolted up in the engine bay, correct? :hmm: Kinda slow today and the parts book looks nothing like how my TB bracket is fastened. Snap a pic of the inside wheel well if you can Ben - thanks. This is how the parts manual shows it - #14 is the stud plate and there are two of them. Also part #13 isn't there either. Confused........ Jim - glad you found that busted sway bar link.
  9. Like the below? The stud plate replaces the two upper bolts where the track bar bracket attaches to the frame? Jim, the 86 uses the stud plate differently than the later models as it has an additional reinforcement bracket, thus my confusion. Inside: Outside: Image Not Found
  10. According to my parts manual, the below stud plate(s) are used to mount the stock track bar bracket to the left frame on 2.5L MJs and XJs. Part number 52001493. It's unclear if one or two of these plates ar used. I don't have these plates on my 91, just through bolts. Has anyone seen these on your T/B bracket, and how are they mounted?
  11. Factory rated @ 2000 lbs. Of course, that's if the bumper is in tip-top shape and structurally sound. You don't state where you are from, but if the MJ rear step bumper is a 20+ year old original and you are from a rust-prone area, I wouldn't tow a bicycle with it. These bumpers rust out fast. I tow a similar sized trailer with motorcycles occasionally with no problems towing or stopping, but have a frame reciever hitch, rear disk brakes, 31s and 4.10s with the D44 and an AW4. The key is the receiver hitch, and as airspeed says, very tough to find now for an MJ.
  12. It's on the AW4, left side. On the 4WD adapter unit in your case.
  13. Well, you can always beat on the speedo. Continuity testing time from the VSS to speedo, if good pull the VSS and check it for make/break with an analog ohmmeter. That being said, I had to finally replace mine as 1987Comanche did for intermittent speedo operation. Didn't throw a code either. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-1987-97-JEEP-CHEROKEE-XJ-WITH-AW4-TRANSMISSION-REPLACEMENT-SPEED-SENSOR-/190857033371?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c6ff7369b&vxp=mtr
  14. Pretty girl. ^^
  15. Looks so nice seeing the white birch in front. One of the few things I miss about living up Nawth.
  16. What's Georgia? Renix? If so, doesn't apply.

  18. The VSS feeds the speedo, and the ECU. It's just a rotating reed switch that makes/breaks continuity based on it's RPM. You can pull it, turn it by hand, and check them with a meter, analog is best. It will not throw the "check engine" light either on an OBD1 system. At least not on mine. See if you have a code 15 first.
  19. Have you checked for codes? 15 is the VSS circuit. http://comancheclub.com/topic/28111-reading-obdi-91-and-92-mj-fault-codes/
  20. ......as a heart attack.
  21. Beat the Cards!
  22. I think you could have used even larger font Charlie.
