No, 4.10 ratio with 31" Michelins (actually 30.5" dia) @ 65MPH = 2150 RPM for me. Everything's calibrated to a gnat's azz. Actual, not from some table. But who's counting.

Anyone seen one of these?

I can see your pic is an XJ. Factory security systems were an option during the OBD2 years and up for all Jeeps I think. I had one on a 96 XJ I bought new in Guam. It had the same hood switch. The system was a POS, went off all the time and I had it disabled. The 96 I had was nearly underwater at one time from a typhoon and I got it very cheap from AAFES at the naval base. I figured it went off all the time because of salt water corrosion. The Jeep ran great for the two years I had it, then I sold it to a local for a bit more than I paid when I left. -

Hood Ajar Switch for 96-98 ZJ Security System, and others......... -
53005429 and 53005428 ECUs are for the 89-90 manual and auto transmissions respectively. What exactly makes them different than the 87-88 ECUs to give an "instant 9 horsepower increase"? I'm guessing a timing advance?

Is that your doll collection in the background? Yuk yuk. The wife does ceramics.......... -
Do you have the correct speedo gear installed? Your tach should be reading ~2100 RPM with that combination.

Check the FPR first. If okay (31psi w. and 39psi w/o vacuum). If okay, pull and read the spark plugs for rich and/or lean operation. You may have a regulator(s) stuck open or one that's not working at all, and reading the plugs will give you an idea. If they all look good and are uniform, I'd swap the old injectors back in. An A/F meter is very helpful in diagnosing problems like this. I've been running one for years and can tell at a glance if the air/fuel mixture is within specs from idle to WOT. I don't know if FL has emissions inspections, but they can check the mixture for you. -

New MJ, have a few questions.
HOrnbrod replied to will7798's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Have you been under there to eyeball where it's coming from? Unless you have a hole in the tank, the fuel will be coming from the submersible pump access hole (1) or the rear vent grommet/hose (2). Most likely #2 - rotten hose and/or grommet -
According to the parts manual, the only AMC 20 axle available in the 86 MJ's were 4.10 ratio w. or w/o limited slip. Only the XJs had 3.73 and other ratios. Check that out Eagle if you get a chance - I may be reading this all wrong............

Get a set of gauges and check the fuel rail pressure. When exactly did the backfiring start? When you swapped the injectors in? -
Glad this was reincarnated. I'm grateful to Krusty for all he's done and will continue to do and will support him 100%. My reasoning for the "armchair fabricators" comment was to kill the unneeded suggestions, warnings, and the negativity that was starting temporarily at least until a prototype was presented. It was going in the same direction as the the original hitch threads went. And that was nowhere. I didn't want that to happen again. Just leave the guy alone until the prototype is ready for a critique. That's usually how it works.

Nope, the emissions timer isn't even listed in the 91 and up parts manuals. . Maybe the Canadian export models junked them later - I don't know........... http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/products/RELAY--TIMER--Emission-Maintenance--TIMER--Emissions/4390292/56002460.html

Exactly.

Only for Renix. The timer for the HOs is in the ECU..........

The dealer can clear that nag light - no other way that I know of. I pulled the bulb on mine......
-
Plenty of threads about it; it looks like a 1996 thing only. It didn't happen in the 91s so you don't have the original cluster obviously. That light slot is wired for the MAINT REQD light in your 91. It's just a timer that comes on at about 85K miles that reminds you that it's time for a new O2 sensor. I'd just pull the bulb. Do a search for Jeep GEN light to see what it means in the 96..........
-
I do have the 91 FSM and there is no GEN light on any of the instrument clusters used in the 91's. The indicator above the CHECK ENGINE light is the MAINT REQD light.

You can still get most of it. OP, what p/n's are you looking for?

Welcome, and good looking long bed. And congrats for figuring out how to upload pics on just your second post. We have guys who have been here for years and haven't figured it out yet. Looks like 30's or 31's for tires? The 3.07 ratio must really suck with that size tire. -
