  1. Wunderbar!
  2. But the emissions defeat devices had backward compatibility.
  3. True, the 86 MJ 2.1's didn't have cats. Buy VW TDI-engined cars used them. 8) Or are you going to use one of those TDI engines with an emissions defeat device like VW did?
  4. Part numbers are different so I doubt it..........
  5. Did you open the low side service valve, start the engine, then turn on the A/C?
  6. Any warranty it might have had is null and void if the header has been wrapped. The best way to repair that header IMO is to get it brazed.
  7. Will do. Won't happen though until I have to open something up on the brake hydraulics somewhere. Everything be working fine at the moment unfortunately.
  8. I have a rear D44 but with Ford Explorer disks. The Ford caliper uses the same bleeder screw size as the front stock Jeep caliper. Also, according to the 87-90 parts manual, the front MJ/XJ bleeder screws are the same p/n as both the rear D35 and D44 rear wheel cylinder bleeder screws. So either the parts manual is incorrect, or your guy is incorrect Tim. My money's on the part manual being correct. I'm going to install my speed bleeders and see how they work.
  9. Thanks, but I'd like to hear about the speed bleeders.
  10. The MJ was Lot #621 scheduled on the docket for today, and they started the broadcast with vehicle Lot #623. So I guess the MJ wasn't worthy enough to televise. Bastids........... EDIT: Searched Palm Beach Event Results; the MJ sold for $10,450.00. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1989-JEEP-COMANCHE-CUSTOM-PICKUP-207031
  11. I have a set of these and have never installed them. From those of you that have used and/or are currently using them to bleed your brakes, what's your real world opinion on how efficiently they work? The old helper/pump/stop/hold/pump/etc. system is getting, well, old. I've searched and haven't found anything worthwhile here regarding using speed bleeders.
  12. Yes, saw it all. Even on my craptastically slow ADSL connection after it loaded. Audio was real weak, but it was watchable.
  13. Thanks Mike - I missed that one. Surprising it went for $10.5K.
  14. There can be anything in there after all the years and owners. Just pop the cover and take a peek. The gear oil needs changing anyhow.
  15. It's your money, but don't waste it regearing a D35 mate. Look around for a good used D44, 8.25, Ford 8.8, etc. first. What ratio are you looking for?
  16. That's a good question. I don't know it's factory shelf life but would prefer it over any of the aftermarket junk and would have no qualms buying it since it's never tasted fluid. I purchased a NOS master cylinder older than that (1993) and it's been on my truck for over five years now with zero problems.
  17. Congrats on finding a very scarce 1992 4WD Eliminator. They only made 4WD Elims in 91 and 92, and 92 was the last and least production year of the Comanche, so it's a rare bird indeed. To verify it truly is an Eliminator, run your VIN HERE. Also check the paint code by looking at the Primary Paint digits on the body code plate on the right side firewall in the engine compartment. It looks like the below. Your code should be (if original) DX8 or PX8.
  18. ^^^ Fixed it for you. Are you in Germany?
  19. You answered your own question. :)
  20. Would you by any chance have experience on how good they work together with their 2930 springs? Yes. I am using these shocks with OME 930 coils (the 2930 predecessor) up front. I haven't found anything better.
  21. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CLUTCH-SLAVE-CYLINDER-87-92-JEEP-CHEROKEE-WRANGLER-COMANCHE-WAGONEER-04728737-/182483447129?hash=item2a7cdc6d59:g:TCYAAOSwsW9YwcPD&vxp=mtr Offer him $100 or so.....
  22. By all means add the aux fan if the wiring is there. And yes, "less engine load can't hurt", but the load you save by ditching the mech fan will be negligible and you most likely won't notice it. And to do it right you should upgrade your alternator including it's wiring and the mains cables to safely handle the extra 20A-25A or so pulled by the second fan.
  23. True, the "Power On" LED won't work if you are only switching ground. This includes the factory dash toggles. Spot on switching the ground side of a circuit to control devices if you have a choice. A big difference between Renix and HO factory wiring is that the Chrysler system uses ground switching almost exclusively while the Renix system normally switches the hot lead for device control. Probably because the French electrical engineers who designed the Renix "system" were trained on positive grounded automotive electrical systems like Renaults, Citroens, Simcas, Peugeot, etc etc. :shake:
  24. I thought the same........ It's 2WD and still has the fat rubber-sheathed 2WD driveshaft also.
  25. That's the hose set for an XJ. Pretty much the same, eh? Close enough for new hoses with bends with cutting like 2" off the one end. I didn't have the hose clamp tight enough oringally and my first fill up was messy... luckily it was in the drive way with a can. Thanks - good info.
