the o2 sensor won't hurt but leaving the coolant temp sensor unhooked can cause it to deliver too much or not enough fuel.

right side wheels rubbing brake hose and rear cable
ratrapp replied to ratrapp's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
ring on frame is still there.i tried bending the hose some but it didn't help.it puzzles me because everything on the left side is fine. -

i've got some 5 spoke factory cherokee wheels,i belive from a 99-01 model cherokee.ever since i put them on at full wheel lock it rubs the right front brake hose.also the rear e-brake cable flops close to it after you use the e-brake and release it.i replaced the the cable and it still does it.it didn't do this with the factorry steelies or when i had 15x8 black spokes.does anyone else with these wheels have this problem?wheel spacers are out of the question as there aren't many threads hanging out of the wheels as it is.

Closed to Open Cooling System Conversion
ratrapp replied to LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
yeah,i done away with my heater control valve as well.i've put 3 of the thingd on in 10 years.grand cherokee zjs don't use the valves anyway, they're really not that important. -
i replaced all my injectors with the multi orifice mustang 19lb injectors.i didn't get 1 more mile per gallon or any noticable power gain.the only reason i replaced my stock injectors was because 4 of them were seeping(replaced o-rings and still seeped).the only improvement i seen was i didn't smell fuel when i cut it off.i did use new injectors, not used ones.

Rear Suspension/Bed "Thunk"
ratrapp replied to comanche09's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
i've got the same thunk as well.i don't even have a spare tire reciever on mine and have new shocks as well. -
yeah,i've still got to put a light on my bumper as well.i've only had mine on for a month and i don't drive at night very often so i haven't seen if i'll get stopped for it yet.i was thinking of the little universal round bulbs that snap into a whole and use the bumper as a ground.i just ate drilling a whole in my bumper but it's better than a ticket.

i got the jcr rear bumper as well.i liked it so much i ordered the stage 3 front bumper to go with it.

i don't know about the hesco w/p.i bought one and it didn't last a year.even the cheap advance auto pump lasted 4-5 years.i got the hesco pump, hesco high flow t-stat housing and 180 t-stat.the t-stat didn't last 6 months before it stuck on the way home from work.i replaced it with a good mopar t-stat.the temp gauge no longer flucuates.the water pump is seeping but i haven't changed it yet.you'd think for what they cost they would last longer.hesco does state none of those parts have any warranty as they are high performance.

i just ordered the jcr stage3 front bumper.pics coming as soon as i get my bumper and it on.

MJ Rear Bumper Reviews...
ratrapp replied to Str8OuttaBallard's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
i just got my jcr rear bumper yesterday and had it painted and i put it on.i like it alot and the price was very fair.hopefully next month i'll have enough coin to buy the matching stage1 front bumper as well.the only thing i would offer different on the rear is give an option of no reciever hitch and mount the plate bracket in the middle as i'll never use the hitch hole. -
i just got my jcr offroad rearbumper on.i like it alot, but the gf thinks it's ugly but i really don't care.i also replaced my wiper pivot bushings and they really helped the sloppy wipers.still haven't replaced my timing chain set or done my 97 up cherokee wiper jug but it's coming.i do promise pics soon.i got my gf a digital camera and as soon as she figures out all the buttons i'll get some pics up.i think when i get alittle more money put back i'm getting a jcr front bumper as well.

Aftermarket Axle Shafts - Your Opinions
ratrapp replied to 500 MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
i put a set of alloys in my friends 04 rubicon.he's pretty destructive as he broke the stock left front axle(not the joint but the axle)see i'll see how this alloy usa set holds up. -
Cherry Bomb/Glasspack OR Flowmaster
ratrapp replied to jeeplover88's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
2 1/2 flowmaster 40.sounds good to me,probably not the neighbors in the morning. -
i just done the browndog motormounts.i cheaped out and classic style which are alot harsher than stock.i suggest getting the softer of the two for an everyday rig.on the plus side i don't think i'll have to worry about them failing as they supposedly have a lifetime warranty.hopefully i'll have time to do the timing chain/gears next weekend.

i pulled mine out a while back.i didn't seem to help or hurt anything.
-
that's exactly what i'm talking about.does anyone know if new armrests come with the clips?
-
the difference in tanks is the 23 gallon uses 3 straps to hold it up and the smaller tank uses only 2 straps.
-
if you have the hockey style armrest there is a threded stud at the top of the armrest.when you take the 2 screws out of the bottom of the armrest you have to rotate the armrest to remove it,unless the clip has broke that sets on the threaded stud.it locks in a plastic insert in the door which i have new ones for.if you have a good one,i'll gladly buy the whole armrest(color doesn't matter at this point).
