  1. That 454 snow blower is awesome.

    SCAM WARNING!

    :clapping: :rotfl2:
  3. The picture in the catalog shows multiple patterns so my guess is both 5x 5.5 5x ?.? Maybe it isn't an actual picture of said axle shaft. Is it possible it has the same shaft lengths as described in the catalog? Maybe just a wider pumpkin and different length tubes? :hmm:
  4. I got it for practically next to nothing, not to mention I had a hard time finding one. I specifically needed a 2wd model so the pinion was centered in the axle. The axle is for a RWD replica Lotus 7. Hell, I'd use a Dana 35 if I could but the pinion isn't centered and they are too wide. This axle is about 52" from WMS to WMS which is what I needed. Didn't need a beefy axle anyways since the vehicle only weighs ~ 1100 lbs and is mated to a T-5 / Zetec 2.0 L 4cyl.
  5. That is what I thought but I just took a look at my Yukon gears catalog. The AMC20 for the widetrack CJ7 and the Wagoneer have the same part numbers for the axle shafts. If those two are the same, the MJ has gotta be the same right? :D
  6. So I have a GM 10 bolt 7.5 rear-end I'm working on for a side-project. Came out of an 84 S10 2wd pickup truck but it appears someone made a half-assed attempt at a gear job. I know this because: A) Horrible wear pattern on the ring gear. B) The pinion shaft lockbolt had a broken head. Had to drill it out. :fs1: C) The bearing cap bolts were cross-threaded. Anyone know if I need a "special" bolt or can I just replace with a Grade 8 bolt? Also, what type of machine work does this thing need now? Does this need to be drilled and retapped for a larger bolt? Thanks.
  7. I'm partial to Weber carbs but they can be a PITA to tune properly. A lot of times to properly tune them you have to swap out jets. If you want a weber, I'd highly recommend these guys. www.carburetion.com I've bought from them before and they have the cheapest prices for webers, parts, and conversion kits anywhere that I've seen. A Holley would be a good choice too, they are easy to work on and you can get a lots of parts, jets, valves, etc. at auto part stores.
  8. For a stock replacement, I've always used RAM Clutches. The kits come with the throwout bearings and alignment tool which is nice. They are always by far much cheaper than kits available at the local part stores too. Jegs and Summit carries them. http://www.ramclutches.com/Applications/jeep_2.htm Just a word to the wise about their clutch discs. Not all of them are stamped ENGINE / TRANS. The one for my Cherokee was. The set I bought for my CJ7 wasn't. I installed the clutch sometime after midnight after working non-stop all day...long story short I wasn't paying attention and installed the disc backwards. :shake: If you are going to do a clutch job, inspect the flywheel while you are under there. If it needs replaced, now is the time to do it. Whatever you do, don't re-surface the flywheel.
  9. Only thing I can think of is you might need a SYE. I don't have the longbed version but all I know is when I went from a 2" lift to a 3.5" lift on my Cherokee, I had BAD vibes. AA SYE kit and new Tom Wood driveshaft fixed that problem. Money well spent considering it was only a tid bit over $500 for everything and I got a heavy duty 32 spline shaft. Maybe someone with a similar lift and longbend setup will chime in.
  10. Improperly surfaced flywheel, bad pressure plate, oil/grease/dirt can all cause clutch chatter. My guess is the latter since it was machined. Did you also replace the throwout bearing? When they go out they can make similar noise. Since you are probably going to need to open her back up, I'd replace the throwout bearing (if you haven't already, they are fairly cheap) and buy a new flywheel.
  11. Discussion about Comp Cams and stock springs here. http://www.jeepstrokers.com/forum/viewt ... ?f=5&t=848 Looks like you'll probably end up with valve float. Seems a lot of people are happy with the mopar camshaft and springs. Seems like that would be a better option or just button everything up as-is. You would have to run higher octane fuel though to avoid ping.
  12. I've been planning a stroker build for my 2001 XJ when it reaches around 200k. Mine also involved the same setup as yours with stock parts except for .030 over pistons. You could have your pistons dished to yield a lower static compression ratio. As for the dreaded quench everyone talks about over at jeepstrokers, you'll have to have the block decked to lower it.

    Xbox Live

^ LOL :rotf: Seriously though I do have a 360 but I don't play online. I refuse to pay M$ just so I can play a game online when I can play it for free on a PC. Not much of a console gamer anyways, I use my 360 more for playing DVD's than I use it for my whopping collection of 4 games. :shake:
  14. jeep4x4center.com appears to have the parts. I think that is where I bought my replacement shifter parts for my CJ7's T5.
  15. Going out on a limb here but anyone who buys a 200k JK is out of their god-damned mind. Bolt in kit for a YJ starts at 60k....
  16. Ran across this one today. Looks like it is in good condition however I can't say I like the paint job on the body or engine. whiskey tango foxtrot over  30mpg? :hmm: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-Jee ... 35a4df6ed0 I also love the 1st Battalion 7th Regiment id on the front bumper that was photo-shopped.
  17. I'm just one of those practical guys. I would never buy any vehicle for "showroom". If I ain't gonna drive the damn thing except on suny Sundays what is the point? To each his own I guess.
  18. I think 800-1k would be reasonable. I'd be very careful about the rear though. If one of those welds breaks the gears are toast. Would be a nice project though if it is rust free. Get rid of the monster lift, lower to around 3, get some 31s or 32s, new spider gears...and some TLC.
  19. I'm with 87warrior but that price a bit high. This jeep would still need some proper tuning done. POS carter carb needs to go, as does all the computer junk. Need a nutter bypass, HEI ignition, headers and a weber carb. Best thing I ever did to my 85 CJ7 which reminds me...makes me wonder what gearing this jeep has. Someone at AMC apparently thought putting 2.73's in Jeeps for "economy" was a great idea. Even with a bunch of performance mods and a freshly rebuilt 258, my CJ7 dogged on stock tires. It really sucked, never touched 5th gear and would have to stomp on it to pull through gears. 2.73's... :shake: . . . idiots :wall:
  20. :ack:
  21. Not to be the party pooper but I could care less what Chrysler does. The dream was shattered in 2001 when they stopped making the Cherokee. The shattered dream was then flushed down the toilet when they stopped putting the 4.0 in the jeep line. :fs1: I'll be driving my "old" jeeps until I'm buried in them. *sigh* Damnit I miss my CJ-7. :D
  22. Call of what...???? j/k :brows: There are very few games I've ever bought upon their release or paid $50 for. Just too expensive for my tastes these days. I'm usually at least a year or two behind the curve. I just got CoD4 about 6 months ago and it was free with my video card. I never spend more than $30 for games, console, pc or otherwise. Too expensive....as is everything once you have kids.
  23. Wasn't quick enough. Apparently some guy is going to put a down payment on it tonight. Hoping he doesn't show so I'll get a chance at it :D
  24. Sorry, I forgot to link the post last night. Looks really nice but obviously it will need a closer inspection. Interior seems to be intact. Clicky http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/1450597498.html
