I took one look at that Phoenix mini and :ack:

So I just got the final part for my P/S conversion which was on backorder. Where does this remote reservoir mount? I never was any good at tetris..... :rotfl2: it doesn't seem to "fit" anywhere and I'm having trouble finding some engine bay shots with the reservoir.

To answer the question in your post.......I'm lucky if I can hide $3.70 from the wife...let alone spend it. :rotfl2:

If you want a high quality 2.5 header go with Banks Power. Jegs and Summit should have it. Cheaper route would be Pacesetter.

Serpentine belt whining & sliding off.
kar120c replied to MJRemi's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Sounds like you already diagnosed the problem. Easy job to replace the pully as it should be held in by four studs along with the fan and clutch. -
A buddy of mine just gave me his 85 ranger for free. Did a 302 w/ C4 swap and runs awesome. Definately has seen better years though and needs a couple things addressed. Overall not a bad truck through I definately prefer my Comanche. My only real complaint with the ranger is the front suspension design.

The CJ series has always been my favorite line of Jeeps. They are so much fun to drive and work on but can become money / time pits very quickly. I spent close to 3 years and almost 10k restoring one. If you have space, time and money to rebuild one of those I say go for it.

Finished assembling the engine....well mostly anyways. Image Not Found

Could be a number of things or combination thereof. Alignment out of wack, loose suspension, sticky brake caliper, air in brake lines, etc..Is your truck stock or lifted? Helps with diagnosing problems.

Thanks, just got a PM. Might have a seller....

Anyone have a power steering pitman arm off of a cherokee or comanche? Only part left I need to complete my power steering conversion. Thanks.

Yesterday I installed most of the interior and did the gauge cluster swap. Thanks to club member Shane for the carpet! Good quality carpet from ACC but did have to do quite a bit of trimming around the endge. Better to have excess than too little right? Interior is still rather dirty from sitting around for two years and I still need to wired up a new stereo and fix some wiring. Couldn't finish / test it as my battery is dead, will need to buy a new one. Image Not Found Today I installed the cylinder head I ordered from Clearwater. Did some minor electrical wiring here and there. Image Not Found

swapped axles-which gear oil weight?
kar120c replied to comanche12's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If the truck is going to see regular street use I'd go with a 90w oil. If you are going to tow with it, I'd go with a 140w oil. Regardless, go with synthetics and your gears will be much happier. A bit more expensive but it's not like you are changing the diff oil every 5k. -
If your backing is in good shape, you can just get new cloth. I spent a whopping $2.44 on about two yards of plain gray cloth at Wal*Mart. Spent another $10 in some headliner glue. Picture here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14925&start=30 Much cheaper than buying a whole replacement.

lol, that is why I didn't bother with painting the block. I guess I could have painted it black to help mask the future self-lubricating / anti-rust feature :D

The rear retainer / tail housing comes off individually and will give you access to the bearing. You'll need a good pair of c-clip pliers to remove the snap rings.

Figured I'd throw batteries into the "dead" camera and give it one more shot. It works! Must have dried out finally from the water damage. Anyways, the headliner isn't too shabby for $2.44 :D Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found

Clutch and transmission installed! :clapping: I was also going to install the transfer case however the nuts had seized to the studs. Hoping I can find a hardware store that is open tomorrow so I can put that sucker in.

NW Oregon. Looking for a pair of sun visors for my 91 Comanche. Prefer grey-ish / charcoal color but black will work too. Mine are completely trashed, fabric is gone and the padding has turned to dust.

Project has been sitting idle due to work, life, kids, etc..Hasn't stopped me from buying parts though. :D Had a couple hours to work on the MJ, pulled the old cruddy sorry-@$$ looking headliner out and put new material down. 10.99 for the headliner spray and another 2.44 at Walmart for the material. Not bad for under $15 bucks and it turned out great. Sadly no pictures, kids broke our only digital camera. Transmission, transfer case ready to go in and clutch parts on order. Drivetrain will be bolted up next week. :clapping:

My reactions in the order they happened:  :ack: :hmm:  :fs1:  :shake:

If they were removable, I'd send you my decals.

If nobody posts by the time I get my driveline in, I'll definately post the numbers.

I know, I know another driveshaft length thread. :brows: I checked the driveshaft length thread in the tech section and didn't find what I was looking for. I didn't want to post there either since the thread is already long enough and I had no numbers to contribute. I'm ordering parts to finish my rebuild / 4wd conversion and need the rear driveshaft lenth. I don't have my clutch yet so I can't put the driveline back on to measure. Thanks. Oh, and I know there was talk of making an excel spreadsheet with driveshaft lengths. Did anything come of that or do we need someone to do that? I'm more than willing to help in that regard. stock height, 2.5L, AX-5 / NP-231, SWB, Dana 35

You can order Redline online through jegs or summit but you get hit with shipping. I've found best retail place to buy Redline is Baxter's. For Royal Purple, Napa seems to be the best bet. O'Reillys, Autzone, etc.. don't seem to carry that stuff anymore. At least not any of the local stores in my area.
