Bend the float arm a bit.

4 switches is correct. Power locks, passenger window lock-out, driver window, passenger window.

And you don't want the Peugeot transmission. It's a piece of poo. Get a 4wd AW4, the transfer case that's behind it, speedometer cable, the front drive shaft and the front axle from a 1987-1990 4.0 Cherokee. Then have your current rear driveshaft shortened.

If I read the ad correctly, this truck is advertised as a 1993 model year. I though production stopped early in 1992?
-
No probably about it. Unless this is one of those fabled southern trucks that never rust, some of them will definitely snap.

Either way if you want to retain 4wd, the transmission will need to be out of a 4wd. You can't bolt a transfer case to a 2wd transmission.

Need to swap out your flexplate for a flywheel also.

I just looked at my flywheel (off to get resurfaced today) and the for my 87 2.5 the pilot bearing is definitely in the flywheel.

Plus with 3.55 gears and 31" tires an inline 6 should easily be good for 90-95 mph. I think you might have other issues. Check you speed with a gps. The vibe at 60 could be an out of balance wheel, or it could be a driveshaft problem (bent shaft, worn slip joint on front shaft if you don't have a disconnect front axle, or a bad u joint somewhere). Eagle, one small detail you're forgetting: most 31x10.50 tires run small. Most are only about 30", some are as small as 29". Going by a BF Goodrich Rugged Terrain T/A, which lists 682 revs per mile I come up with 78mph on 5th at 2500 rpm. Looking at other brands for with revs per mile are available in the specs I see 684, 679, 682, 683, 683. A true 31" solid tire that does not deflect under a load should only run 647.

As far as I heard (no personal experience) Rocky Road == crap.

Any Advantages In Steering Stabilizers?
mvusse replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Steering stabilizers are good for hiding death wobble.Yes, I said HIDING, not fixing. They are also good at preventing loss of control or a broken thumb when you hit an obstacle too fast and at just the right angle. -
Since clutch install should mean resurface the flywheel, and I believe the pilot bearing is in the flywheed and not the crank, just pop it out when you have the flywheel off.

I have some sort of 4.5" lift coils plus a 1.75" spacer and the rear still sat a bit higher.

Never checked it out on my 94 I do not have anymore, or my (daughter's) 96, but if it has the boss for it, I assume it could be drilled/tapped to accept it. If it doesn't you'd be screwed.

Is it flammable? A friend's TJ burned down to the ground a number of years ago after coating the undercarriage in bed liner a few months earlier.

Still Clanking Sounds During Right Turns
mvusse replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Do you have a disconnect axle housing? If so, you need to add an oil seal inside the diff housing next to the passenger side carrier bearing. Napa Oil Seal 11800. If a non disconnect housing, the stock seal (same part number as the driver side) in same said location. -
Lift In Front For Clearing 37" Tires
mvusse replied to Whisslaren's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I ran 6.25" out front with 35" tires and ended up hacking the crap out of my fenders to clear the tires. Moving up to 37"s now, but will have a full width axle, low backspacing wheels and the way the springs mount will give me an additional 1" lift. -
Non-Cad D30 Shaft Options
mvusse replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes, the seal goes next to the carrier bearing in the diff housing. The axle tube has been pressed inside the diff housing and stops right there. On a non disconnect housing it has been machined to accept the stock seal, on a disconnect housing it has not and the stock seal will not fit. So you pull the cover and carrier and try to put the factory seal in and it simply does not fit. And that is an issue. The first time I did this I scratched my head over it for 20 minutes and then spent 4 hours researching it on the internet. I have now converted 4 disconnect housings (two of my own and two friends') to use single piece passenger side shafts and they were all the same. Napa Oil Seal 11800. -
How did you deduce it has a 13.5 gallon capacity?

I did too. Even contacted the county auditor to check the gas pump.

Very Clean 88 Mj From The Rust Belt
mvusse replied to HOrnbrod's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Odd, I was under the impression all Pioneers got bucket seats, floor shifter and chrome front bumper. I agree, though, very clean MJ, -
To use XJ leafs in an MJ, the center hole does need to be drilled a little larger. Adding more leafs will give you stiffer springs which will help when carrying loads, but I don't think you'll get much if any lift. XJ leafs are much flatter than Comanche leafs, so the XJ ones will try to flatten out the MJ ones, lowering the truck.

Front Driveshaft Rotates Completely Free
mvusse replied to stevenmckey's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That's my guess. When I got Sparkles it was clanking. Turned out all 4 had come loose.
