Howdy all. Seems this is the place to go for group therapy so here I is! The other groups threw me out... My names Alex and I'm from Marion, Ohio.

There are springs that hang from your frame above the rear axle and holds up the emergency brake lines, make sure there is one on each the left and the right. If so then I'd second Jeepco about it being from your seat, in which case I think you have bigger issues if you are dropping stuff from inside the cab. heh The cable I have no clue on sorry. ~Alex

Here ya go, hope these help... They are sort of outdated but still show everything but the fact that I have em in reflective like JT said. In hindsight I wish I would have put them on level, but maybe when it gets repainted I'll do that if I even bother. ~Alex

Lookin good, just got one question... Are the hoodies made like the Tees or are they embroidered? Alex

:agree: That is all. :D Alex

heh I hear ya man. I been looking for a nice 75 Camaro or 77 and back J-Truck for awhile. But anymore I think I am trying to find something that I can just buy and drive and not worry about having to do anything myself to. I no longer have the space to work on anything, even had to give up A LOT of spare MJ parts I had when we moved. Use to live on a farm so having something that needed work wasn't an issue. Or being able to do projects on the Jeep was fine. But now where I live I can't have that and I only have room for one car so it can't be a fixer upper. If I could find a nice 75 Camaro Z-28 I'd be happy. Doesn't need to be showroom quality, but run and not have a rusted out body. But, I do like this thing and since they refuse to fix the issue I see with the new wranglers, or build the Gladiator, I think it's time for a car that my girly won't have to climb in and out of... and not have to be seen in her Cavalier. *shudders* lol Alex

lol Thanks for the heads up on the interior with the orange. It is made to compete with the Stang, I'm not a Ford fan in the least bit though and I think this is the nicest rendition of the muscle cars that have had to be brought back (not counting the Stang since it never left). Yea, my life has been rather hectic, but I'm starting to pull it together once again I think. I just wish it had been before Nov 24th that I pulled it together, that M-715 I was wanting awhile back went up for sealed bid and I didn't have the time to get to it. My mom wants the Challenger, but she figures by the time she can get one they won't be made anymore. She likes the Camaro too, she use to have a 69 Hemi Orange Challenger and a 76 Z-28 Camaro I believe, so she just wants to see either in our drive. lol Alex

Niiice. I'm sort of undecided on color. That jewel red sure is nice and rich though. But I'm torn between the Blue, Orange, Yellow, or Black. I'm thinking of going Black with White race stripes so that it matches my MJ. heh

Well it went on pre-order in October. Was going to order one but not too sure if I want to with the financial issues the big three seem to be in, might wait till its all over if they are still offering them. Glad that for the most part they stayed true to the concept. I won't be gaining much milage if any over my MJ, but it should be fun. XD http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro/ Enjoy. I know I do. Alex

Wow, talk about brought back from the dead. Anyways, I still agree with Wildman. And I still feel the Gladiator has a stronger chance at surviving. This is nothing more then the CJ-8, which as stated way back when this post started, did not live long. A smaller niche vehicle in an already niche vehicle line is not the best idea. Just the other day though they (Chryslers dev team or whatever you want to call em) were talking about maybe building the Gladiator once the financial issues are resolved. Only time will tell at this point. *crosses fingers* Alex

GM is the one that is in the worst position out of the big three. They even reported that for this bailout plan, where all three CEOs of all three companies are asking for money, that they are asking for the most both straight off and down the road. Ford seems to be sitting much better off, being able to last till next summer atleast, but GM is the closest to needing for file. But I see no need to worry, this economic upset is effecting every aspect of business. Toyota just laid off a bunch of jobs nationwide yet you don't hear much about that because as a whole they are sitting pretty when placed next to the American auto companies. But right now anything linked to American industry right now is hurting. If they refuse to bail out the big three the economy will only get worse from all the jobs that would be lost if they went under, but don't count on it. There are some other options they have, if not able to clean things up as fast as a bailout, that will keep them going till the market picks back up across the board. Just my honest insight on this matter. Alex

Okay, I'm sure this is listed on here somewhere but I was unable to find it. I don't have much free time to flip through all the pages of search results that came up. So anyways, I know that my '86 had a 23.5gal tank. But what are all the sizes that were offered and what would my '91 Eliminator have? Specs on it that MIGHT make a difference but I doubt it... 4.0L HO, 4x4, auto, short bed Thanks, Alex

It was called the Comanche Thunder Chief I believe and was meant to be a "Luxury" Comanche made with Grand Cherokee interior and looks. I use to have a pic somewhere of the inside and it had an OHC and all the stuff you would expect to find in a Grand Cherokee of the time, but since my laptop fried all those pics are lost to limbo. As for where it is today... it sits in the Walter P. Chrysler Museum. They also have one of the old race Comanches and one more that someone donated that has a rollbar and looks really sharp. Alex

Hood Vent Install
GirsMJ86 replied to LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
I got mine and put em in my hood of my 91, did it a bit different and will try and get pics here shortly. Been busy with college stuff. Alex -
hmm... looks like i added that line into my PM for no reason. ah well, enjoy those engines! Alex
-
you get those measurements be sure to let me know, i might even just pay for a set off ya since i won't have welder access anymore soon. But, i might need to make em a tad wider or whatever to work with my after market bat which i like better then the factory ones. Alex

Some of it is wired, wiper fluid level and a few other easy to install sensors like that. If he wasn't clear across the nation and getting rid of the entire axle it would work. Not sure but I think trying to put the just sensors in a normal axle wouldn't be a smart move. Someday I will find another Waggy XJ with em still and swap em out if I still have the 91. Alex
-
My last 86 had a 2.8 in it rebuilt to 3.2L, and I tell you the thing still was worse then my 86 K-10. Like Jeepco said, its the carbs. If you can cut back on the carbs then you have a much better truck. :D Anyways.... Just do the Camaro swap, and when you do the swap make it fuel injected as well. Alex
-
That is indeed the XJ Waggy Sent sensor. The front should have it too, but if not then the front was never swapped. My 91 was going to get a set of Waggy axles with those on em since I have the Sent in the MJ. I decided against it since I didn't feel like doing the swap for something that will mainly just be for show. Alex

Exhaust's For Jeep Comanche's
GirsMJ86 replied to Hemenechi's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I had my last 86 dueled from the manifold straight out the back. No CATs and dual glasspacks (turned out much louder then I wanted). They don't have to put the CATs on if the vehicle is pre-90 IIRC. I saw a sign that said that it was illegal to remove CATs from vehicles newer then that I believe. My 86 K-10 is dueled CAT-free also. Same place did both trucks, 200 bucks each. My next 86 will also get dueled with a 40 Series Flowmaster without CATs all SS too if I can find it. Alex -
91 Eliminator 4x4... Rusty's 3" lift with 31" Dayton Timberline A/Ts. Alex
-
They ONLY came with straight sixes, and the gearing was over 5.00, I think something like 5.28 or something. Full floating Dana 60 front and Dana 70 rear. PTO driven Xcases, and PTO winches that could be in the bed or front bumper or both. I just did a ton of research when I was gonna be able to get my hands on an old fire dept one, which that deal fell through. Alex

Actually I believe there is a Dodge/Chrysler 4.0 V6... is that not what is in the Nitro? I know there was a rumor of a 4.0 V6 going into the JKs since the 3.8L or whatever it is gets ragged on pretty good. Don't blame em either since it is a minivan engine trying to haul a 4dr JK around... Alex

From what I've seen, it seems like a heat issue. Shouldn't have been one with any of mine. Had em all sittin on laptop cooling pads, which were in turn sitting on an old metal wire frame milk crate. So plenty of air all around the system. Found a place that could install liquid cooled system into the 360 since there is a lot of free room inside, but decided not too since selling it was just easier. I will say though that those dumb power bricks sure got hot... :headpop: And the noise those fans/rom drive would make... just bad over all. Alex
