  1. Or a good way to go is decals. Either get some made up same size and font like the Comanche badges or go custom, maybe something bigger in a different spot? The possibilities are endless. Finding actual badges in REALLY nice shape is rare, but the ones I have seen that are go on ebay for quiet a bit. I have taken mine and I taped over em then cut along the edges of the letters so they are still covered, then re painted the black part. They look way better if you even just do that. Alex
  2. Colbert is out, NC (where he was mainly wanting to run) would not put him on the ballet. I vote for Edwards. Alex
  3. Contact Jeep Here ya go, have fun and good luck. Alex
  4. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=68216#68216 There is the link to my post with the clear lights in my project thread. Enjoy everyone. Alex
  5. CLEAR CORNERS!!! finally... There were two styles on ebay: Euro: OEM: I bought the OEM style and here is a few shots comparing them to the factory ones. Drivers side is pure factory, passenger side is the new clear/clearer ones. Drool over em and enjoy! I sure like em better. :D Oh, and yes those are new chrome headlight doors on it too, thanks for noticing. XD Alex
  6. Mine should show up here shortly. Once I get em on I will get some pics. In the meantime, I have had nothing but trouble with getting the front signals out... makes me wonder how I was planning on changing the bulbs ever. The screws were so rusted in it wasn't funny. I only got one to come out, the other three broke off. So now I am hoping that I will have enough room to drill new holes and it won't move em too much so that they look odd in the headlight doors. Alex
  7. ... I can't wait to see what options my 91 Eliminator (if it is one, lol) had new!! Here is to Chryco and their great ability at keeping records on old vehicles.. Alex

Isn't the Scrambler a CJ-8? And the Brute kits/already made Brutes are nice. Once they make their kit for the JKs I may think of ordering one that is already done. Alex
  9. wait, you said it was a 92 you found yet you ask about the renix injection... is it a 92 with the EFI or is it a different year? From what I have had, my 88 Elim ran smooth. Started right up and everything no matter the temp/weather. Same goes for my 91 Elim HO EFI. Either is a great choice I think. Alex
  10. I already did the CAD fix on my 91 and took pics the entire time. I already added this to my project but I will be more then willing to rewrite it for a write-up in this section. I have also done 2 custom headliners and will be doing a third for my 91, it would be for everyone who has no backer board. I could take pics and do a writeup for it too. And once I rip my carpet up and redo my floorboards then the custom washable floor goes in I can turn that into one too. Alex
  11. In 88 only the Eliminators came stock with the buckets, center counsel, tilt steering wheel, and all the goodies, but they were ONLY 2wd. Sounds like to me they were all swapped in though because it has power windows and locks and is 4wd. Good find and looking truck no matter what though. Alex
  12. There is my intake. Going to be making a cowl hood and making a cold air intake that will go along with that over this winter. A turbo would be sweet. But it doesn't have one... yet. Alex
  13. Yep, they will fit. I have been looking for some for idk how long. So i hopped on over to ebay and bought these ones just now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290177492846&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=019 they have the more factory look which i like better. or so i hope they look like that rather then those other ones. if not no big, they are still clear and will look great with my new chrome headlight doors and truck color theme. Alex
  14. One more thing I forgot to bring up. When I press in the gas pedal and hold it there to maintain speed, at any speed, there is a loud squeal/whistle high pitch sound going on. It stops if I press the pedal in a tad more or release the pedal. But of course it comes back once I find a spot and hold it there again. So, my question is what is that sound cuz it is starting to drive me nuts. Something to do with vacuum maybe? I don't always feel like having the music up to cover it and my other mystery noises up. :brows: Alex
  15. Thanks for the input so far. I am going to get a friend of mine that has a shop and works on stuff when i don't feel like it to pull it in and check stuff for me when he gets the time. I wouldn't really think there would be anything major wrong since its only got 16k miles, but I don't seem to have good luck when it comes to cars. I will post up what he finds out once he gets it in. A GM Cyclone engine eh? hm... *wheels turning is not always good in my mind... lol* I was always thinking back when I had my 86 to stick a dakota magnum in it in place of the 2.8, wonder how hard that would be. those magnum engines are fun. Alex
  16. OK, I brought this up somewhat in skimore11's "What engine?" post and I thought that rather then steal his post for this I would start a new one. Eagle brought up that these engines run around 55-60psi at 55mph close to new and like 45-50psi at 55mph when at like 200k miles and up. My 91 has a pretty much new engine in it, only like 4 years old. Jasper remaned 4.0L HO with almost 16k miles on it. It sat for awhile before I bought it off Rob and he hardly started it. In fact they had to jump it to get it onto the trailer when I got it. So it does burn some oil now, you can really only see it when it is left to idle. So I am sure some if not all seals are shot. It only leaks maybe a drop on the ground, not sure from where but seems like headers or something. Oh, and it is running pure synthetic SynPower oil and I even put a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil to get it to try and recondition the seals a bit, didn't work. I was driving it today and the oil pressure at 55mph with like 1700 RPMs was only 20, yes you heard that right, 20psi. Now when I gun it the psi jumps to like 60 or more, have not had it max out though or go into red. Most the time it is around 20 though. Jaspers warranty ran out at 3yrs or 100k miles so I can't just get it redone for free. So, options? I have no clue what would have to be done or anything, most I have done with an engine is put a new remaned on in my K-10. About how long does it take and cost? Maybe just order a new one from Jasper? Maybe order a 360 or 401 or something from em? Maybe something from some newer car that would fit; eclipse, camaro, talon... Thinking about something nice and fast since it is an Eliminator, but an easy swap. Could I put a last year 4.0L in it? I don't know, ideas please. Alex
  17. One thing I have always been told, correct me if I am wrong, is that rebuilt engines are just pretty much made to run again, where as a remanufactured engine has new parts put in and is cleaned, bored, and whatever else to make it as close to it was when it left the factory in the new vehicle. Plus most places will update it as needed. But I believe they cost a lil bit more. Going the rebuilt/remaned engine route would be easier, plus I would think the warranty might be longer/better then going for a junkyard one and having that rebuilt. Plus going to a junkyard for an engine gives risks. Sure let say you find an XJ with the one you need with only like 50k miles, but you don't know how it got those miles. Was it hardly driven or was it ran really hard and threw a bearing and scrapped? Hard to tell. If you do go that route I would try to find one that got rear ended and was scrapped rather then fixed. Then it ws taken off the road cuz it was hit not cuz the engine broke down. That is all just my though. Alex
  18. I ran my 2.8 almost bone dry once, it really didn't like it. My 91 ran fine without oil, and now it is pure synthetic oil so it would last even longer without oil. synthetic coats things better so it can lose oil and still run, this is why the military uses synth oil. If you don't want to go new I have 2 4.0Ls and one 4.0L HO you could pick from, not sure where you are located though. I'm sure nowhere near me since you have snow in your image over there. Then you could just go get it rebuilt while yours is still in the jeep. Alex
  19. well then, my friend the mech is a moron. maybe he just let it slip while looking at my 91 for me and its oil issues. my 91 seems to have major oil pressure issues anymore, it can range from one end to the other in one drive depending on how much gas i am givin it. but then again its seals are shot and it smokes if left to idle. I sort of ignore oil pressure gauges anymore. none of my K-10s gauges work other then speed and gas, and I don't trust either of them. Alex
  20. Talk to rob about that one. One of these days I am going to fix it, but I am so use to it I don't notice it anymore, just freaks out people who ride with me and I just filled it up before I picked em up. They are always waiting on it to die at any moment. I think fixing my missing floor is top on my list right now though. lol Alex
  21. Now where would be the fun in a rig with no mods? lol Nah, it is like 3 trucks in one (a red one, a smurf truck, and a white one) plus some XJ parts. It has a new Jasper motor with like 16k miles, XJ Waggy lighted mirror visors, XJ Waggy OHC temp/comp, XJ Waggy control center display, CAD "fix", 3" lift... The doors are both from an older truck which uses the old AMC keys (each door diff too, only had drivers side key) rather then the one key setup like the 91 should have for doors/ign/glovebox. I put an old 86 chrome 10 slot grille on the stock 91 header panel (that was a pain). So, as you can see, not all that mod-free now is it? But to throw this out there, I'm sure the fuel pump might have gone out and just been replaced with an older one maybe before I got it? Who knows. Alex
  22. My 91 reads like this also. makes for finding mileage a lot easier. Since the light normally comes on with two gals left, I can now figure that mileage i got in those two gals once it goes off. Alex
  23. eh, thats ok. i need the bumper too. cross my finger, that is the one thing i will fork stealership prices out for. Alex
  24. Ever try higher octane? My 91 get about 25 highway, have never figured city since I don't drive it much. It is also a 4x4 auto though... I run premium in it thought, that is all that has been in it since I got it. Plus I swapped it over to full Syn Power oil and high mileage tranny fluid. Then again it just dawned on me, mine only has like 16k miles on it... DOH!! Alex
  25. I bought a 350 for my 86 K-10 from Jasper. Got here fast and went right in. All I had to do was paint it, if you want to, and swap the option stuff over from my factory one. My 91 Eliminator has a 4.0L HO from them and it has been very reliable. They even make sure to upgrade stuff that needs it, like the HOs are known for low oil pressure, maybe all 4.0s are I can't remember, they try to fix it or make it not as bad. Here is a link to their gas engines overview, check em out. http://www.jasperengines.com/gas-engines.htm Alex
