I have a "lead" on a roll bar locally... guy said it wasn't a OEM Jeep Bar, but he had it installed in a SWB MJ. He mentioned something about that he had small "risers" in the front (that he can't find) to get the height to look about right. So something would have to be fabbed up. I know the pic is TINY but it's all the dude said he had. He said he take $50 for it, but I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble or not, especially without better pics (I don't think he had the MJ any more and the bar has been sitting in his yard.

I don't feel bad about about what I paid for this set then... less than $100... I plan to clean up the seats, install the best pair of brackets on mine and then will sell the extra set of brackets/sliders to almost pay for these. I think I paid $75 plus shipping for the first set of bucket bracket/sliders that I got a year or so ago.

Probably not the "recommended" way, but I popped mine off with one of these... -
I have some cleanup work to do following mfpdm's great seat cleaning write-up, but I have some new seats (and soon to be an extra set of Bucket Bracket/Sliders) These are in much better condition than the XJ seats I took out (even though the old ones cleaned up pretty well.) These have no tears or rips, appears the frame and foam is in good condition and the brackets have just some minor surface rust! The ones with the "holey" headrest are the "new" ones.

Pete, I've always been confused by your description of the brackets vs. the sliders and the insistence that the bucket and bench "brackets" are the same. You keep flashing that one scanned pic from a service manual of the seat brackets with the red circles and it still makes no sense to me...maybe I'm just extra slow, or never paid much attention. When I had my Bench Seat and Bucket Seats sitting upside down on my garage floor sitting next to each other, the bolt holes on the bottom lined up, but not much else was alike. I'm planning on buying complete OEM MJ seats from where they mount on the floor to the headrests, so I'd assume there are sliders included somewhere there in the middle "(although when I bought my other set of brackets/sliders there was no apparent way they they could be separated, thus my ongoing confusion over your description and photo). Maybe you are pointing out that we are being lazy when we universally say "Bucket Brackets" when in fact what we mean is Floor Bracket and Sliders, since when I say "bracket", I mean from the floor to the bottom of the seat. I have a lead on some MJ Buckets with the original MJ brackets...the seats look OK, just dirty (but no tears or rips). They are about an 2 hour round trip (give or take), so I'm just trying to see if it will be worth the trouble to get em. If the brackets are better than the brackets I have on mine now then I'd have a set to sell... Thoughts?

SuperWade2 replied to azscott's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Guy on Ebay used to do Headliners and also sell just the fabric kits to do you own replacement. Not sure if he still does or not. -

"The 1989 Jeep Book" PDF Scan of Comanche Section
SuperWade2 replied to SuperWade2's topic in The Pub
Glad to help guys...makes me feel like I went back to late 1988 and am sitting in a Jeep Dealership thumbing thru the catalogs...Since I was only 14 at the time, it wouldn't have been for me but still... Wade -
No Pics Yet, but wanted to see if you guys thought it might be this might be a thought for an engine / tranny swap into mine (and then maybe a project besides). I've wanted an Auto anyhow... should be no real issues going 88 to 89 and I'd swap the entire engine tranny-tcase right over to mine ***Edit -> Link Expired*** $750 for a 89 4x4, 4.0L, Auto, Rebuilt Engine, Tranny Swap, pics in thread Thoughts?

I picked up the "The 1989 Jeep Book" on Fleabay the other day... It's basically the sales brochures for the entire 1989 Jeep Line in one catalog. I scanned the Comanche Sections to PDF and have posted them here. http://www.leishman.net/download/1989JeepComancheBrochure.pdf I also picked up a 1986 and 1988 Comanche only Brochure, but this was the only one "small" enough to fit into my scanner and get the full pages. Since I have an '89 I was most interested in that anyhow. 8) Hopefully you guys enjoy the scan...some great pics of stock rigs if nothing else  I don't know if someone has already scaned/posted this, but I hadn't seen it before. P.S., the PDF is pretty big (~33MB) , sorry, it's the best I could do with the software I own (I only scanned @ 300 DPI, so if I re-did at higher, it might be a little better quality, but larger file size), but it looks OK for me just sticking the pages in my printer/scanner Wade

One thing I miss about Nebraska (there are only a few things too miss)...Deer meat... I never hunted myself, but my Pop, Uncle and G'Pa went out every year... Deer Sausage and Deer Jerky are the BEST!!! If anyone gets a big pull this year, gets some sausage or Jerky Made up and wants to ship me some, I'd be happy to pay for shipping and whatever for the meat. Wade

And It begins
SuperWade2 replied to comanchekidwa's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Hey Jason, enjoyed the Pics in the new Crawl Magazine, that one on the back cover insert would look great blown up!!! I talked to Gerald not too long before that trip. It would be cool if they did a big spread on the MJ in an upcoming issue. Wade- 32 replies

I'm at the car wash now getting the MJ cleaned and after a good chunk of the year with no carpet, no center console, and only 1 bucket seat, I forgot how nice and "quiet" this thing can be (comparativly)... I actually enjoyed the ride over here... I haven't enjoyed driving the MJ in a long time! Wade

I figured my interior may never look this clean again, so I better get some shots... That's the original 20 year old carpet... I scrubbed the crap out of it, steamed it at home and then took it too the Car Wash Place (removed from MJ) and they cleaned some more. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out... And one of my Engine bay, just cause, and it looks pretty clean (any my newly painted Valve Cover)

Yah the ends are just a tad crooked and If I really cared I could loosen the d-ring ends just a smidge and get em perfert... I don't care that much... But you will notice the BFH that was used heavily in the install process!!! :rotf:
