I'd be interested in some rear quarter guards if he is able to make them.

Measure what the old axles pinion angle was and set the new one the same. General rule of thumb is the angle between the driveshaft and tcase output should be the same as the angle between the driveshaft and rear pinion. If you have an SYE installed, the rear pinion should be about 2 degrees low.

Just looked on Autozones website, its only $16 for a new blower wheel. I think I'll just pick up a new one, for the price, its not worth trying to save the old one.

I'd like to know as well, I have the same issue. the squealing in the mornings is pretty annoying.

Good for Enos, he finally got himself some Daisy.

x2 I have a Nuvi that I can use for driving directions, and for hiking/backpacking I have a Garmin GPSMap60CSx, I would recommend both. The GPSMap also does turn by turn if you get the software for it. I took both to Hawaii with me a few months ago and we only used the GPSMap the entire time. 70% driving / 30% trail hiking.

Looks like crap, and if you actually wheeled it, you'd shatter those bedsides in a heartbeat.

What were the mods?

how many cranks before it starts?
Blue XJ replied to MJ86YJ90's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
x2 except mines a 90. -
I don't think I posted on here about that, but I have that issue as well. The driver side is an inch lower than the passenger side. I swapped springs side to side and it stayed the same. I assume my frame is tweaked, but everything fits fine and it drives straight.

I did the opposite swap and went from vent windows to fixed windows. It was pretty straight forward, just a few bolts to hold everything in.

hey....i got another whats it worth...with pics!
Blue XJ replied to STERLING STINGER's topic in The Pub
offer him less, if he has to duct tape his for sale sign together, he is obviously hurting for cash and would take less. -
Just take your time and watch what your doing. I can do a full set of balljoints on both sides in just over 3 hours. They really aren't all that bad to swap out.

Engine remanufacture or rebuild the head
Blue XJ replied to 2360's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not that you need it anymore, but you should be able to have your motor rebuilt for less than $1500 at a local shop. At least thats the going rate around here. I built my stroker for about $2800 a few years ago. Neither of those prices include removal/installation though, I did that myself, since its pretty straight forward. -
Looks real good, I keep checking at my LHS and they are still saying the body is not available yet since it hasn't been released. I'll be mounting mine on the original Axial AX0 Scorpion, but with a tube buggy frame. Not sure how the 2 piece body will work with that, I might have to cut out the lower back wall and front wall of the bed to slip it over the tube buggy frame.

Cheapest Way to Swap 8 Tires?
Blue XJ replied to 1987Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I use my HF one on big tires all the time, I actually find them easier since the sidewalls are softer. I have swapped out 31, 32, 33, 35, 36's with it. I also use the airsoft pellets to balance them, I buy the big gallon sized jug of them from walmart. -
I just bought the XJ body, I guess I'll have to get the MJ one as well. Image Not Found

I upgraded to HID on mine, best improvement I have ever done. I bought it from a guy that sells them locally here, I got both housings, the bulbs and the wire harness for about $135. Well worth every penny.

If you are working on M-1's.,.. I find alot of irony in that.... I work on m1's, along with other stuff. kinda strange that i changed jobs, but technically I'm at the same place. :dunno:

I used to be an engineer for Chrysler, but we all know how well that works. So now I am an engineer for a defense contractor, and I get to play in tanks everyday. :clapping:

It sure is. From crunching the numbers I could find online, and assuming stock cylinder heads (which these are nowhere near) its putting out 486hp and 505 ft/lbs. I would assume with the amount of head work done, its in the 550hp range. It makes my 300 wheel horse SRT feel like a stock 4 cylinder. :D I think there will be a dyno pull and a 1/4 mile run on it at some point, just to see.

Yeah, she enjoys all the same hobbies. Cars, jeepin, backpacking, camping, fishing...... That 80 Vette in the garage is her toy, its her all time dream car, its only fair we both have our dream cars. :D

This one is pretty nice though, its more or less flawless. My fiance bought it for me as a wedding present, I'd say she did pretty good. 1972 Duster, 27k original miles, built 440, TF727, mini tubbed, 28x13.5 slicks, 8 3/4 with 3.91 posi...... I've gone through 6 alternators. I just buy the lifetime warranties, and keep my fingers crossed that I am close enough to make it home or to a parts store before the battery dies. :D Now I just stay out of the mud, the occasional water crossing hasn't hurt it, since its usually clean water.
