  1. I have a 1.5" lift shackle laying around that I was thinking I could use. It doesn't matter to me if its SOA or SUA, I just figured there'd be more wrap SOA. My XJ with 4.5" leafs wrap like crazy if I stand on the pedal. It will be getting linked next winter. This winter is to build it up and get everything working. Next winter is shortening the wheelbase abotu 12", linking it, and bobbing the bed abotu 18".
  2. you must have real crappy gas, my moms got a built 355 and she has 11:1 and runs pump 91 x2. My stroker is running 9.7:1 and it runs just fine on regular, but prefers mid grade. And my quench height isn't quite right either, its closer to .055". I could definately run regular if the quench was a little better.
  3. Picked up an MJ for a project to build. There are currently 3" lift springs in the rear that are completely shot. If I stand on the back bumper, it drops the truck about 2-3 inches, and I'm only 150 pounds. I'm planning on running about 6" of lift of front, what would be my best option for out back? Replacing the pack with a stock one and going SOA, getting a longer shackle and running the current pack? Adding a few more leafs from something else to stiffen it up a little? I'm also putting out 330ft/lbs of torque, so axle wrap is a BIG concern.
  4. Not sure where I found these, but I think it said he took 16" out of a long bed. You can see ho wmuch of the frame he had to chop. I'll be doing the same thing with mine in a couple weeks. But I'm cutting off the rear leaf mount too, gonna build a rear crossmember that serves as a bumper and has the leaf spring hangers in it as well.
  5. 96 was still the older style cherokee, the year it switched was 97+
  6. Just picked up a comanche for a new project truck. The current leafs are pretty shot and I'm worried when I go SOA I'll get too much axle wrap out of them due to the stroker. Was wondering if anybody has done a triangulated 3 or 4 link out back instead of leaf springs. If you have, please post info and pics, or links to other build ups. Thanks
  7. yeah that looks pretty good. I don't think I have even seen a 2 door MB XJ model before.

    Snow!

I'm assuming Belleville is over by Toronto? I left there this morning and the rain was pouring, they were predicting a pretty nastty strom later in the day with 6 - 8 inches of snow in the Brampton area.
  9. I'm new to the site, just picked up the bare MJ body from bigworkskidoo and figured I'd join since theres a lot of good info on here. I'll be swapping all the parts from my current XJ on the MJ and also adding a cage to it before the interior goes in. Stay tuned for a picture filled build up thread, unfortunately I work in Canada M-F, so it might be a slow build. Taking parts from this... And putting them on this....
