Lots of grays, some tans, but cannot find a full blue console. Manual, 2wd is perfect. But will use filler panel for 4wd. 30028 or 30005

Jeepfest - Pickens Co. Georgia (North Georgia)
Butchershop replied to Butchershop's topic in The Pub
My son played football Friday night about a mile away. I sat where I could see the road and the game. Great game (and win) but I spent more time scanning the road for MJs. That's pretty sad, but I did spot a nice Pioneer - manny cause he had trouble driving it. Mine will be there next year. No crawling, just show and tell. -

From Idiot Lights To Gauges
Butchershop replied to AeroNautical's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Murphy here.... Got a new brass fitting. Looks just like old one. But the new oil pressure sender is so much larger than the old switch that I don't have clearance enough to get it in the 90 degree brass fitting threads. Not enough room to eliminate the fitting either. Is there a smaller sender? Anyone ever use an extension? (Move to Tech section?) -

Ok. Picked up the parts, but the threads on the brass fitting are toast (other side from the picture above). Hoping A*Zone or Lowe's has one. I'll measure, but looks like 1/8"? -
From Idiot Lights To Gauges
Butchershop replied to AeroNautical's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ok. Thought I had this figured out, but need some help. 88 2.5L had a 'new' cluster when I got it but no oil pressure or temp sensors were working. Cluster says 1988 cherokee (JY noted). Has gauges. Not lights. Does this sound right? 1988? Or is it possibly a different year? Speedo hooks up and works fine. I took this oil pressure sensor out. The brass fitting came out with it. What do I need to do when I put the brass fitting back in? Possible to get a new one? What year sensors do I need to get? Oil pressure and temp? Do appreciate the help! -

I talked with the owner of the second one a few days ago. It was a typo and he's aware. Truck was purchased new and lived in Boston until the last year or two. Been sitting since at a friends house near ATL. Had it been 4WD, I'd prob own it now. -

Credit to AKULA69: After searching the forums is became apparent that there is a lack of information on wiring trailer harnesses to the MJ. Although it would be nice to get one of those 'plug and play' type kits that are available for the newer vehicles, they are in very short supply for the 86-92 trucks we drive (at least down here). Jeepcomj had a great idea in one of his posts, go to the junkyard and get the under body to stop/turn/parking light harness connector (both sides), leaving enough loose wires to create your own 'plug and play' set, but that still does not address our hook-up problem...so: The rear stop/turn/parking harness has 5 actual wires in it, and although there are numerous factory splices to duplicate wires to each of the plugs, the wire codes are as follows: Brown: Right turn and brake light Black: Ground Blue: Tail (parking) lights Brown with white tracer: Backup light Grey with black tracer: Left turn and brake light Another way to explain it: Assuming you are standing at the the back of the truck, the LEFT side being the drivers side, and the RIGHT side being the passenger side, the main body ground will be behind the left tail light, and the plugs on the left side will have the gray w/ blk tracer wire. The right side will have the brown wire. To hook up a six pole receiver you have six wires: White: Ground (Don't ask why...) Brown: Tail (parking) Yellow: Left Turn Green: Right turn Blue: Electric trailer brake Red: Auxillary So Harness TO Receiver: Brown TO Green Blue TO Brown Black TO White Brown w/white TO Red (my choice - my trailer has reverse lights) Grey w/black TO Yellow For a 4 wire flat connection it would be: Harness TO Flat 4: Brown TO Green (sometimes with yellow tracer) Blue TO Brown Black TO White Grey w/ black TO Yellow Hope this helps!
