  1. Welding a nut is a actually a very good idea. The heat you will apply to that bolt welding it will very likely be enough to facilitate its removel anyhow... FOR cheaper then the price of a socket!! If your worried, just use a grade 8 nut!! CW
  2. NICE PIC!! Looks like a good time!! OOH and welcome back!! :D CW
  3. LOOKS GREAT!! What is the tubing and what are you bending it with?? FESS UP!! :rotf: :rotf:   :D CW

  5. Mine got a wash, might muddy in the woods yesterday!! I installed the new CB antenna and a CB remote speaker too!! CW
  6. Did you have a spring mount? I had initially installed it on a spring. But it was WAY UNSAFE!!! I would have hit people on either side of the vehicle ALL THE TIME!!! I figured that with the mount lower in the bed and with the tire behind, I would have enough flex for it not to be a problem... Guess that 4" limb 4" over my roof was a bit much...   OH WELL, No damage to the jeep or the mount only the Aeriel was lost. I have more. Pat, Have you tried heating hot, hot and quenching with water? I have been lucky and every one that was tough like that was able to come off with my CO2 and a impact. I cover it with a HEAVY blanket and turn the pressure WAY up and "hammer" on it. Its always worked for me!! Like that pinion nut on the front of a D30...esp the lo pinion with a crush sleeve!! If we where closer, I would get it off!! Maybe you have or know someone with a CO2 setup? CW
  7. NICE JOB!!
  8. What is clamped/attached to your rain gutters????? CW
  9. Image Not Found These are the last ones I ran across... YUMMY!!! CW
  10. Twenty something years ago I had a pretty hot mustang. On a dare, I roasted my tires the full length of out parking lot and finished with a couple donuts to further prove my (senseless) point. Yup, I won the bet... and spit a freeze plug right out of the block to quite another "smoke" steam show!!! LOL I had my radiator froze in the MJ on a super cold snap a year or so back.... I blew a heater hose. Pulled over and huffed it a couple miles in below zero temps to work. We towed the MJ into the garage and two of our grounds crew fixed it up for me while I was working!! No damage, but that hose & the T stat. After my buddies fixed me up... CW
  11. :fs1: I busted off my 102" whip in the woods today!! :headpop: :headpop: :headpop: :wall: :wall: :wall: CW
  12. I have been on there for many years. I was having this problem back then and solved it buy buying in to them, Now I never have speed issues. I am on DSL so I am fairly fast connection, but its not cable fast... I don't find it expensive and love the service anyhow so I recommend just buying a plan... Also, maybe do a disc clean and clean out all onld junk to overall speed up your machine. CW
  13. Looks GOOD with the ford wheels!!!  CW
  14. ALL the more reason NOT to dump over a grand into your D30!!! :wall: JMHO, CW
  15. GOOD JOB!!! I really like the MJ-O-M format and its first subject is most deserving, both for what he brings to the table and who he is. Don is a true asset to the CC, just as he was to our great country while he served. THANK YOU DON!! I am proud to be associated to such a fine group of guys!! Pete, you done good fella, :clapping: thank you for creating and providing this forum for all of us to display, brag and boast about our projects and of coarse make friends. :D CW
  16. Bring it over, I'll weld it right up!! :brows:  :rotf: CW
  17. I have welded in a grade 8 washer a couple times, its thicker then the steel in the factory mount and harder as well. All you need is that washer and a welder!! EASY FIX!! CW
  18. i think mile marker was the other. BINGO!! That is correct!!!  CRS sux.... CW
  19. As you have found out the AT's are NOT a MT!! Yea each has its pitfalls. the MT's are not so great on road with heavy snow. Lack of sipping is likely the cause. the are good in the rocks and acceptable for the mud at the same time good on the road if a bit noisy. I just picked up a set of 4 with 60-70% tread 35X12.5's from my buddie on here for my TJ!!! Yesterday I picked up a fifth BFG MT for my spare!! I'm not a factory rep, just a guy like you'll. I hope to pass along what I have found to be a good product to my brother jeepers!! CW
  20. Our MJ's don't have a selectable "hub" like a FS chevy or ford PU does. (if you talking about a selectable hub, like a warn or select a-matic) You will either have a CAD or your axle will be engaged all the time. The D30 does have a UNIT bearing. Is this what your speaking of? I am not familiarly with the terminology, "quarter locking hubs ". Can you clarify? If you want to add selectable hubs (like a FS cheby or ford) to your d30 axle there are really only two options, neither is cheap. Warn makes a kit for about a grand. There is another company but for the life of me I cannot remember the name. IIRC its not available anylonger anyway. CW
  21. WELCOME!! Where do you live. More accurately, how far are you willing to travel?? I just saw one on EBay in Michigan... CW
  22. Here is one of me last year before my weight loss... This is me from this AM. my trail camera took this one!! CW
  23. I have a bunch of radios to sell from my grandfather. no one in the family currently is a ham or has interest or time to devote. he was a ham since returning form WWII... I don't know much about it. I have a couple of the radios here researching the values online. ICOM, IC-761, IC-229H, and IC290H, I also have a Kenwood TR-7950. SO MUCH more, this is just what I could carry out the other-day. Cables, wires, antennas hanging everywhere in the basement!!! MANY more radios as well as a couple handhelds I have not located yet. Its all going up for sale soon. If anyone can offer any advice please post up!! CW
  24. I would check linkage adjustment. 4Lo is all the way in one direction on the Case lever. (Back on the shifter) 4Hi is somewhere in between. may just not be correctly adjusted. CW
