  1. Man I bet that was a great trip. I LOVE snow-wheelin'. Great pics!
  2. The Sprinter came out in the states first thru Freightliner after they were bought by Daimler. I believe some Merka-dees were imported prior to that on a limited basis, and then Dodge stuck their name on it too. The van shown by mfpdm has been a huge success all over europe for years, mainly based on the Mercedes engine and it's incredible fuel efficiency. I believe Sir Sam is correct that it is built on a different chassis in the states. Same drivetrain though. It is a 5cyl with a 5spd auto and while it's no drag monster, it'll pull a grade at the same speed loaded as empty from what I heard from a lot of owners. The amazing feature though is they get mid 20s on highway (single rear wheel models). Considering the size and weight of them, that's pretty impressive. Being that the alternative to that was usually a 10-12mpg gas box van or 14-16mpg regular cargo van, delivery companies really like them. When I ran a commercial rental fleet in Pittsburgh, we considered buying them but we were able to buy regular cargo vans SOOO cheap and resell them in 6-8 mos for a nice profit, so we didn't get any. I did hear about the maintenance headaches of basic LOFR's and brake jobs as noted above. IIRC it's a 300k rated engine, so if it's rattling at 300-400k for the UPS boys, that's about when it's due for overhaul. On a small displacement engine under that kind of use, I hope UPS isn't complaining LOL.
  3. Now ya tell me... :ack: ;) I need to look at that site a little more often, but I just don't seem to think of them when I need things like that. yeah Taz, always worth looking at them because in addition to some items that are still available as NOS or aftermarket, i.e. the Crown wiper motor, they are also kind of clearance center sometimes i think. i've seen some items on there that they may get a very limited inventory of a hard to find item and, as they say, "when it's gone, it's gone".
  4. teamcherokee.com has wiper motors for $50, just another option.
  5. Toblerone..............
  6. Its a combo of death metal and miley cyrus. I'll burn you a copy! :rotfl2: Cool, my 7yr old son will like the death metal and my 3yr old daughter will love the Miley. Perfect. You're so well rounded!
  7. That seat looks to be in good shape overall, there's bound to be a good buyer out there for it. So, what kind of jams are on the "MJ Mix" CD? :D
  8. More time for the beer drinking then!!
  9. Jeff, super happy for you and the Mrs., congrats! :clapping:  So where abouts is it?
  10. Duuuuude, if you got MT spring packs back there, you'll have no problem unloading those in less than 10 secs when you are ready. In fact.........Dibs!! LOL Seriously, let me (us) know when you're ready to pull those. How many miles on them? Do you do a lot of hauling? I got them by accident- I lost a spring eye on the OEM one, and ordered some used from the wrecker/recycler out in washington- JWs?- he had both the 1 tons and half tons, and plently of them- got them for $69 each. I really didnt need the extra ability, but it did give the rear 3 more inches lift...rides like snot unloaded. :headpop: put 50lbs in the bed and presto, smooth. You mean J&W's in California? Yup, got mine there too. Thank goodness they have a reasonable fixed shipping rate seeing how they had to come all the way to the Right Coast :brows: for those who don't know............ http://www.jwjeep.com/About.htm
  11. Wow, looks like you have more than 2" of lift up front with the amount of clearance showing. Those coils must have been in good shape, i.e. no sag. Oh, and I love the wheel stance with those Spidertrax, I'm all over that in a few months.

  13. Wade-Deucy, looks super nice! Very clean. I am voting for your MJ as the current stealth rig on here. Slowly but surely and VERY QUIETLY I think you have one of the nicer trucks on here. Seriously. What kind of lift do you have on there again? I remember the Chebby drop shackles out back, what else?
  14. I like the home-brew bed rail mounted light bar on the green 4x4 parked on the street. I especially like the "Paulie Jr." spider web on it too. Killer.
  15. Skater, check out jbhill's project thread. that's about as friggin low as it goes LOL! Damn shame that Archer kit is not available, that is one hot looking truck! viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14658
  16. M, now that's big pimpin! And totally within line of you doing a full frame off rebuild. Can't wait to see THAT!
  17. Looks good, too bad I sold my shell to Komanche last year. :smart:
  18. Ahhhhhhh, that's the answer I was hoping you'd say. :clapping: Alright then, go ahead and do yours first so I can see if I like it. :rotfl2:
  19. Good idea I think Wahoo. You could mod the cargo light with a dual filament bulb socket; use one for the original purpose and the other for the 3rd brake light. Since the cargo light is in the cab so to speak, it would be easy to run a new wire and tap off the brake pedal switch for the additional bulb filament and you wouldn't need the logic module. I have a wiring diagram in MS Power Point if you need though for the 3rd brake light. :D Hmmm, may have to put some thought in to this one. But you said wiring in to the brake pedal switch is a PITA?
  20. Nice work, killer truck. I'm sure the neighbors love you LOL
  21. Because even in Cali nobody would pay that much.
  22. I love wheelin in the snow! That FJ40 is killer too........
  23. Like my signature says, 213K and counting! I am only the second owner of this truck. Bought it in Sept. '07 with 210k and, knock on wood, have had no real issues with it motor wise, or much else. It still pulls strong, but mileage is not that great. Then again, I haven't changed any of the sensors, cleaned the throttle body or anything. Changed the oil when I got it and that's about it. I DO plan to do all the other "tune-up" items this summer.
  24. Rub it in Wahoo - rub it in :fool: . Not one of the lucky few to have that option. LMAO, well guess what, the factory wiring is up there already so throw a WTB on the classifieds and maybe you could be cool like me! Well, you could TRY :clapping: Hey Cherokee, so to clarify, do you no longer have a functional cargo light? i.e. your mod turned it INTO a 3rd brake light only?
  25. Brent, when I keyed the part numbers it pulled up, but when I did a general search, it said right side chrome was available and nothing else. That being said, I didn't know there were 3 styles. I assume the "black" means there is a style with black trim painted on in place of the chrome trim like on Hornbrod's truck, and red is just a red lens, no trim color? Finally, I could swear when I first got my truck and joined here that I learned that MJ tailights were no longer available "new"? :dunno:
