I thought Dave Stewart was an ace pitcher for the Oakland A's in the 80s-90s? ;) -
I am guessing you are not intending to put any lift on it and go much bigger on the tires, but staying stock and just going to a 30" tire. That being said, there are a hundred choices obviously, and depends mostly on how you plan to use them. Pavement pounding only, light off-road, heavy off-road? With no lift, stock size tires (for now :brows: ) I ASSume you are most on-road. Then of course there is always the appearance factor for mall crawling. That being said, if you are going to spend the money on new and want a high end tire, the 30" Bridgestones I had that are in my pic were awesome. Best truck A/T tire I've ever had in overall performance. Super quiet, VERY nice ride, aggressive tread and great looking IMHO. They were the Dueler A/T Revo's. They have regular Dueler A/Ts, but the Revos are a completely different tread. I have 31 BFGs right now and when they need to be replaced I will definitely get another set of Revos. If budget is a concern, lot's of good off-brand stuff available, or with a little patience find a good used set of something, although 30" tires seem harder to come by used.

Taz, the pic of my truck is with 30" tires before I went to 31's. And the only time I had any rub was at FULL lock on the driver's side, and it was minimal. And while 8" rims are at the outer limit for 235/75 tires, you're still ok. Recommended rim width is actually 6.5" but anything 6-8" will work. You just need to grab some 30" tires after you get the wheels. :brows:

is it me or does this look photoshopped? the logo on the door looks like an add on, and the wheels are faux beadlock Moabs?

your paint code is on the business card size plate riveted to the firewall. i'll check mine tonight and report back. as i said before, i am pretty sure you're paint is the same as mine. can you post a pic of said VIN plate? -
yeah, that one has been posted on here several times. i think someone with some deep knowledge confirmed it as factory IIRC. it's super cool for sure......

take a magnet with you and go around the truck and make sure it sticks to metal. put it on the cab corners, rockers and above the fender wells. most importantly, lay down under the truck and inspect the floorboards for rust. is he the original owner? like pete said, he needs to provide supporting docs on the engine rebuild, especially since that's probably what he's basing his price on. there is NO consistency to price on these trucks. MrSimon is an example of an exceptional bargain. others have paid well "above average" for various reasons, or no reason at all LOL. what do you plan on doing with the truck? keep it as is or convert to 4wd? i.e. how much more money do you plan on putting in to it? all things worth considering before you make an offer. go to the classified forum here and there is a link that captures several websites with Comanches listed for sale. If you are willing to travel a little ways, you may find a much better deal. IMO patience is what finds the best deal.

just found this out tonight. and farrah dying on the same day? CA-razy! Two true icons dying on the same day. Kinda interesting that ole Mike died at 50. you could argue that he live roughly two completely different lives the same amount of time. i don't know how old he was when he went full whacko, but i'm guessing it was @25.

actually, i'll be out again. i'll be in tappahannock at my frat bro's annual get together on the river.

sorry to hear that jeff. i think house closings are the 8th wonder of the world because they almost never go right and 99% of them do not close on time. so it's 4th of july weekend huh?

so, your saying that UPS failed to deliver the part, not once but twice. Then the same thing happened with a money order too? come on :shake: that is just a little far fetched. And I see why you don't want to lose money on the deal but why should the buyer lose money? you should refund their full amount and take up any losses withe UPS. After all, according to you, it was UPS that caused the problem which may create a loss for you, not the buyer. :agree: Jim, thanks for stepping up and saying what a lot of us were probably thinking. So Pat, you write the address on the envelope for the money order. The buyer tells you he never gets it. Rare, but possible, and usually because of an error by the sender. You confirm the address again. You PRINT the address on the envelope and send another one. Then USPS messes up again?? :hmm: Like Jim said, the buyer should not be out a dime in this situation. Eight months to reconcile, which could be argued was only motivated by being called out publicly, is simply unacceptable. Your losses on this deal could be minimal compared to future lost sales (since you have acquire a lot of parts and do a lot of selling) if people don't think you are fair and prompt. For the record, Pat I don't believe you were trying to rip anybody off. But I do think maybe you took liberty with his money, then blamed the delivery and postal carriers until you had the funds to refund him, to which it seemed to be a low priority or it wouldn't have taken 8 months. I may have missed it earlier, but whatever happened to just sending him the part?

I had a job interview -- FINALLY!!! UPDATE -- I'm in!!!
WahooSteeler replied to BLHTAZ's topic in The Pub
Ask the Chevy dealer to put it in writing about the pay etc., then IF the Mopar place is where you'd rather be, ask them to match it. If they won't, ask them to give you half and the other half through incentive bonuses. Yes, you still have to meet the goals, but if you'd be happier at the Mopar place, what compensation package would it take to make you say yes? You're in a win-win situation, go with your gut. -

if i follow you correctly, the answer is no, there is nothing out there like that. i think you are asking if there is a shackle that has adjustable mounting positions and can give up to 3" of lift, but you can drop back to stock height after going SOA. first, you wouldn't want a shackle that would give 3" of lift, it would be as long as your arm LOL. seriously though, because you are only lifting it from one end, to achieve 3" lift over stock the shackle would have to be 6"! longer than stock. closest thing to what you are asking is some chevy drop shackles, available on ebay for @$45/pair. they can give you either 1" or 2" of lift. when you go soa you could either drop down to 1" or just find a JY pair of MJ shackles. AND, if the SOA turns out being a bit too high for you, XJ shackles will actually drop you about 1". i hope this is what you were asking. :dunno:

Great looking place Jeff! I love insta-lawn. When I built my house in Richmond in 2000 they sodded the front, it really is cool to go from dirt to grass in 1 hour. Impressive that they sodded your front AND rear, and that ain't no small yard. Again, congrats!
