Last summer converted my a/c to 134, only thing i replaced w/new was the expansion valve. it was nice and chilly w/no apparent problems. had our first really hot days recently and ....... no cold air. i checked the refridgerant pressure, it's good. i don't hear the compressor kick in, so that's my first guess, but i thought i'd ask for some direction on troubleshooting before i lay out the "cold" hard cash for a replacement compressor. thanks for any help......

yeah, belt is very likely. how tight did you put it back on? or, might actually be too loose. i had a bad squeal for awhile, thought it might be the idler pulley or harmonic balancer. belt conditioner would help for a very short term. i gave it the ole 1/4 twist test and the tension seemed to be fine, but come to find out when it was tightened up it a bit more, squeal was gone. i could still twist 1/4 turn obviously, it was just more resistant. :dunno:

Edelbrock Remote Reservoir Shocks - Feedback?
WahooSteeler replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
at the price they were selling them for, who cares if you can't get a warranty replacement? everyone who got them says they are awesome, and they seem to be very well built so hopefully failures will be minimal. and for hornbrod's use, i.e. pavement pounding, they're not gonna get hammered so, again, i'd say the chances of them falling apart are low. for your build and usage TNT, i understand why you may feel that way. -

All very nice, but I'm partial to MaryJane.........................it's identical to mine! :brows:

If it's part number 7571 that info is incorrect. MO sells these and says this is the correct part# for 0-3". Actually said it's INcorrect (aka not correct). RC does not make a trackbar for the XJ/MJ under 4" of lift. Well, I guess we see what we want to see LOL, cuz my eyes saw "correct". Damn! Glad I didn't order yet! Thanks for the clarification.

cool, thanks........good info. yeah, since you were unfamiliar with it i was just clarifying that it's not a long term "supplement" to the trans fluid.
-
The directions are to add it to the trans, drive around the block a few times etc, then drain and fill with new trans fluid, so not really an additive in that you don't leave it in there.
-
They make a transmission specific product also, not the same thing as what we run through the engines. http://www.seafoamsales.com/trans-tune/index.html
-
thanks for the good info guys, i was all set to run synthetic. at 214k, my trans seems to run just fine, that would have sucked to implode it by putting synthetic in. whew! now by "flush" you are talking about a power flush, i.e. machine flush, correct? any thoughts about running the Seafoam through there before the drain and fill? *Edit: oops, had to walk away for a few minutes then hit "submit" w/out seeing the other new post. Even w/the Seafoam though, I'd still need to do a "poorman's flush" to get all the fluid out. The Seafoam should just do it's job to clean things up a little, right? Not debating you, just looking for more input why not to Seafoam it.
-
:huh???: I plan on changing out my trans fluid soon also, what exactly do you mean by this? I was going to run Seafoam Transtune through it per the can instructions, drain and replace.

non-resevoir ones are still available... :brows: -
If it's part number 7571 that info is incorrect. MO sells these and says this is the correct part# for 0-3". Good advice though Hornbrod, I'll call RC before I click the "buy" button.

Same seller has several listings, this one says for lifts of 0-3". http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... &viewitem= thanks for the heads up though

What size front speakers?

If it's part number 7571 that info is incorrect. That be the one!

The description on it says 0-3", I'm about 2.5" right now, plan to be 3.5" soon.

Driving from FL to PA...need anything transported?

Yup, been to that one. Easy right off the highway. Good eats for sure! -
Carparts is a big seller on ebay and has Rough Country adjustable trackbars for $87 delivered. This seems like a pretty good deal. Any thoughts out there? :dunno:

you'll want at least 7" wide rims for 31s, that's ideal. less than that may not be good, 15x8s work too. 31s will make a big difference in your get up and go, it depends on what tranny you have and more importantly what gears you have in the rear. what tranny do you have and do you know what gear ratio you have in your rear axle?

Engine oil additives...
WahooSteeler replied to CWLONGSHOT's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
CW, I'll be interested to see if you notice a difference. I first heard about this stuff on a morning radio show I listen to and they were pimping it. Checked it out and, like you, I was very curious about it, but I've never bought it. -
What's the width on your current rims? some of the results will depend on what the offest is etc. as to how far out the fill the wheel wells in relation to the flares. Tire-wise you can go 31x10.50s no problem with that lift, even 32s. But, the 32s will likely rub on your LCAs on sharp turns. as far as filling out the wheel wells, again, the 31s will do that nicely. the rears will still be tucked in a little in relation to the flares.
