did you replace your trackbar? With that much lift the axle likely isn't centered, I don't know if that can do weird things with the linkage geometry or not.

the stock piece was hefty, but I bet I gained 2" of clearance with this one, and got a smooth bottom.

is it three holes in the front fender well, two below a third that's offset towards the bed side? I have these mystical holes in my wheelwell, and wonder if I didn't have one at one time. I haven't looked forward into the box, toolbox is in the way.

Just got my Warn skid installed. what an Uber PITA! The PO had welded the stock POS skid to the trans crossmember and the frame. I had to grind off the weld along the edge and where they had welded it to the remains of the bolts. There was one I couldn't get to on the back with the grinder, so I just used my floor jack to lever it up and some persuasion with a BFH. I'll get some pics of the new skid tomorrow. It's pretty nice for the $75 I paid for it.

www.lunghd.com there's a writeup in the tech section there too. Basically any 60 degree GM block that has the starter on the proper side. Might want to consider going to the 2.5 honestly. Those things seem to be pretty bulletproof.

plug the oil galleries BEFORE you start cleaning off that sludge. Use some shop towels or something. If that nasty clogs up the oil galleries you'll be worse off than having a dirty valvtrain.

yeah, steel isn't the problem. My total lack of fabrication skills and lack of metal working equipment is the major hurdle. My other hobby is RC airplanes, so I've got lots of tools to make small metal and wood parts, but nothing to do something that big.

I know. Unfortunately I don't have a welder, or a place to get steel. I'm building my bumper, I can take that somewhere to be welded, but rock rails seem like a different story. How about I just come up there? ;)

I was going to mount t on the back of my toolbox, or underneath it. Underneath it would be well protected, but harder to get at.

If the 3550 for the TJ is anthing like the AX-15 for the tj then the shifter is different, and I think the bellhousing is different. I've been looking for an AX-15 myself, and the TJ ons have some differences i how they bolt up.

body's in great shape. Nice and straight, not a lot fo rust. I'v got 2 places on the sheetmetal that need taken care of. In the spring I'm gonna pull the bed and do like 512tr and por-15 the whole frame. This is planned to go with new brake lines from the master back.
