    258 crank

currently I'm bidding on a 258 crank and rods. Man, I hope I can get them super ccheap. Right now it's $50. Once I get those then all I need is a rebuild kit and machine work and it's budget, low compression 4.6L
  2. doesn't look lifted to me. Mine fit's 31's on a stock suspension. we sit a bit higher than MJs :)
  3. will the newer style heat/ac controls in the 97+ dashes work with the renix era system? I'm curiois, couse I'd love to have dials and a real fan off switch.

  5. I saw those. Was considering them. They're about the only ones makeing full springs. I certainly wasn't going to order the LA kit ;) I was looking at the 3" setup, and ten some 3" coils from somewhere else. At least then I couls stuff these 31's I'm thinking mabe going WJ LCA's so I can get rid of the rub

    Happy New Year

funny, my MJ came from connecticut, and it's pretty clean rust wise. At least carfax tells me it spent most of it's life there. Maybe that's how I ended up with a rollpan!
  10. the spare tire hoist used a setup just like yours to connect the tire. Went through the hub hole in the rim. Was bent to fit it, and connected to the cable with a crimped on nut of sorts.
  11. AW-4 then. About the only thing to do with it migt be to put a larger, external trany cooler on it. It's a phenomally stout tranny, but heat is always the enemy.
  12. WHat really sucks, for me, is that they only have the tonneau cover for SWB :( Oh well, I may just make the GF make me the cover and get some snap strips. I'd like to make it so I could keep my toolbox, since that has all the Spare parts in it, and the tools, and the floorjack and jackstands. Never know when you've got to jack it up in the parking lot to change the CPS.

    Happy New Year

If it makes you feel better Eagle I promise to avoid body damage to my MJ. It's just too nice to beat up, so no crazy wheeling for me. I even want to get a stck rear bumper instead of the roll pan, so I should be your best friend now. I'll trade you the roll pan for a bumper w/ mounts :)
  14. NM, I see in the post now. Nothing to see here folks, move along..
  15. dayum that's a sexy bike. You said you work behind computers all day, what's your day job? I'm in the it/service/repair sector. PC's suck by the way, that's why the MJ has an Apple sticker on it :)
  16. where is the Badlands? Or if you have a website for them. Just trying to figure out how far of a drive that is.
  17. for some reason that bulb appears to be missing on my 87...
  18. triumph maybe? I'm intrigued...
  19. looks decent. How are they going to tie in the tube bed with the rest of the cage? or is it going to be a seperate component, since that's not around the passenger compartment.

    stereo?

Well, it's still my DD, and driving from customers sites would suck without my satellite radio. I still plan on keeping the sat-rad when it's just a trail jeep.
  21. I'm not using them, but I'm curious as to how well they work. If they're just using some big NIB magnets I may build my own, as I've got a few laying about. Let us know!
  22. I don't know that they ever changed the location. You just have to be sure to use the sensor that corresponds with your ECU. In your case it's the Renix AC sensor. Can someone verify this?
  23. My guess based on the wiring schematic is that the white wires should be tied to ground. use a multimeter to test for pins that have continuity to ground should get you started. it will be painstaking to do this all with an ohmmeter. I'll type up more of what I think when I get home. At work right now.
  24. the CV driveshaft goes with the SYE. You change one end of the DS to mate to the SYE. Check out Tom Woods Driveshft. I can't remember the site name

    pictures!

I'd say that somethings wrong with your tranny then. i never had a problem with it dropping into OD too soon. I'd say that it dropped into OD at about 45, then locked the converter shortly afterward, maybe 50, and if you weren't hard on the pedal. It certainly wasn't a peppy car though, definitly downshifting to go up a hill, and if the A/C was on then you had better turn it off before attempting to pass. Overall it was a great little car. I beat on it for a lot of miles, and it never left me stranded or didn't start on a cold morning.
