  1. To me it is cool :huh???: I started off in lowriders and muscle cars. I think it would look better with bigger rims and tires, but then it wouldn't be a Lowrider  (at least in the traditional sense). I guess that makes most of my junk piles of Poo Poo especially since none of them are stock in no way, and are built to my taste

    ebay guy?

When I first read this post I dismiss it cause I thought it was childish and petty especially since it was over 15 bucks. I see the pricipal behind it, but I would not open myself up to the possible ramifications of posting someones personal info on the web like that. I could very easily see how some Distrcit Attorney's or lawyers would jump on that as a way to "teach" someone a lesson for stalking or libel lawsuit. Would it stand a jury test.. who knows... how much did that woman get for getting burned with hot coffee at McD's
  3. I ran one in Pong In Tellico in 04  I busted 2 front shafts, and came home with a bent d35 but the axle held up to 33's and lots of abuse. I also have a rig in the yard with a d35 in it  on 33's  and I drive that back in forth to work.. once the cage gets built :D its own like donkey kong :driving: The best deals in axle ussually mean buying a whole non-running piece of doo doo  and stripping it out :brows: Trust me I have bought more then one rig to strip to get a single part just to send the rest to the JY. IF you were closer I could make you a decent deal on a D44/F9" combo
  4. I ran a set of used RE drop brackets on Pong years ago, and loved them. As a mater of fact I used them with stock uppers and lowers with 6.5" coils  Pong could unseat the coils by 3-4 inches. I have never had any issues with any RE product. I switched to a Long arm setup and lost some flex. Mine was the Tera kit, and it is now sitting on my parts shelf, but it did use a parrallel 4 link, like designed from the factory. Where as most of the kits out there today are a radias arm setup. As pointed out earlier they only have two bolts holding the axle in place  Yeah it works. BTW I sold the Db's to another jeeper who ran them for a while, and then resold them himself, and as far as I know the brackets live on in the jeeping community
  5. No the one I was talking about is the Mopar Performance Parts Jeep Engines 3rd Edition Part Number: P5007161

    $1000 per day?

Even if you only could come back 3 months out of the year... you would have enough cash stashed to probrably pay the house off after one year... and so what if you have to pay Uncle sam a nice chunk..... you made a nice chunk. Lets keep in mind the US military is deployed to Iraq and not making what he could make in one month in a year. I would be all over it,but I have no kids, and I don't see my wife much with the rotating shift I work anyways.
  7. Time to start giving him the football.. and a set of weights.

    $1000 per day?

I would go, and only work there for a max of a total of a yr, but not all in one yr. The first 85K you make out of country is tax free :brows: so you can bring that back after 3 trips, pay down your debts. Then I would repeat this the following year  Come back find you a easy job to make ends meat while you wait for the following yr. The goal being everytime you go, to pay down/payoff something. After a couple of cycles vehilce paid for.... a few more then your house will be done. My goal is to be able to walk away from where I work after my house is paid off. 9 more yrs :D
  9. THe only reason why I suggested the 8.8 was cause they come in the most common jeep ratio's, Have disc brakes after 96 and come with a LSD (sometimes)while not the perfect axle for eveyone... it works for 75% of the ppl.
  10. To rebuild for power.. I suggest you start with the Jeep engines book 3rd edition. It is chuck full of ideas on how to squeeze the most power out of them. ON page 176 it has jeep part numbers and lift and duration numbers for the cams, it also has a few tips on buiding the 4.0 to be a reving motor.
  11. There are a bunch of advantages to doing something like this, mostly the ability to un lock the hubs so the front and can free spin. To me his article was well written, but seems as though he went around his a$$ to get to his elbow. He spent just as much time figuring out what had to be done, and then doing it. If He hadnt had the parts laying around it wouldn't have been a good swap if you ask me.
  12. Damn Jeff. Welcome back
  13. If you were closer I would be interested in the Taco. Do a SAS and a few small things and adamn can them things wheel
  14. YOu also have to look at how you drive your rig, and where you need the power. MOst 4.0 live under 2000rpm, or when they are getting abused see 3000 to 3500rpm. I know when I wheel it is rare for it to see the rev limiter
  15. as well as the explorer ones too
  16. Invest in a yellow top. I drove Pong back from tellico with a bad alt 450 miles  It sounds as if you alt is not putting out enough juice, and your battery is slowly giving out.
  17. You can find them on ebay for around 100 give or take. It is best to buy a new one instead of trying to find a used one. :brows:
  18. Around here fully loaded limiteds are bringing 4 grand for that vintage with under 100,000 miles.. just to give a comparision. Just watch the used car market.. lots of flood vehicles are staring to hit the markets
  19. what a true statement.... did you at least get some for doing the brake job
  20. I bought a cheap winch a few yrs ago... and you get what you pay for... It was painfully slow. Luckily I found someone who wanted that winch more then I did
  21. YOu can very easily clear 33's 2ith a 2" budget boost if you use a lil bit of cuttting. I did..... 31's can be done stock if you don't mind a lil rubbing.
  22. I made one myself for POng way back in the day. I used a short length of exhaust tubing (2.5 aluminized by 6") and some steel air chucks threaded into the side. For the mount I used a piece of 1x1/8 flat and secured it with the 2 nuts used for holding the airbox down
  23. I think you should sell me your rig for 1 dollar  and I will show you how to fix the lower paint problem on your rig :brows:
  24. I say boat side it, and wheel the piss out of it.. kinda like a fat samuri
  25. Think it might be a lie though.. or really old ad ;)
