By no means are my lines pretty and perfect, they are all run through the factory clips though
-
To me.. it is OK.. I think it needs to stick out further to protect your body panels more. I personally use my rock rails as pivots, an I still manage to tear up sheetmetal.
-
At first i thought it was a clean install, until he went to the passenger side, and there is a fuel filter in the rear tire well, andlines running out through the wheel well. Sadly.. it looks like that rig was built to be wheeled

That would be an easy build... I bought and stripped a 79f250 for 200 bucks last summer.. had all the above minus the engine

Well today I planned on finishing up my brake lines on the New DD. I got them all installed, but not with out much ado. First.. no matter how clean a MJ looks.. the brake lines are rusted in 2 by the fuel filter. That and the rear line has a funky metric fitting  and Napa doesn't carry an adapter for it, but they do carry a length of hard line about 12" long that has the correct fitting at each end  Besides that.. the MJ line at napa is only 12 bucks :D and if you use the mounting baracket for the height sensing valve as a moutning point.. it makes your line the equivalnet of a 20" line :brows:

To me to build it right.. I would go al ford.. Find a 78-79 f250.. they have NP435/np205 combo... Use the axles as well... the front is just about a bolt in.. need to do high steer on the knuckles.. but they can machine those. The rear relocate the spring perches.. I know they say you have to relocate the gas tank.. but I know someone who did just what I described.. and he didnt. Build an anti-wrap bar for the rear.. and do a shackle reversal upfront.. if not.. your leafs will not last if you wheel hard

Need advice on a striped caliper bolt.

Sometimes from the factory they use Loc-tite on the stuff like that.. and figure its been a while since it was applied.. factor in some rust... I think a lil heat would work wonders on it. I also agee with them.. just weld a nut on it, and replace it with a grade 8 hex head -
What does this do for the rear leafs?

I was wondering if the coils I had above my springs were stock.. or some booty fab crap... guess they are stock  My truck has the same mirrors as well -
The booger flick was great

I am not sure now.. Chris changed the way things were setup not to long ago... I think you have to go on an open weekend.. and you have to be a guest of a memeber, or something like that. Once I get Pong finished.. I plan on going up there again

to think they will be the leaders of America when I am old

Is this going to be a driver.. or a wheeler? If its a wheeler.. just get a YJ hood, and grille, then run no fenders or build a set of flatties. I think your budget is unrealistic.... but that is just me. The wiring harness is right expensive. Keep in mind that the d35 will not hold up to any throttle from the 350 :brows:
-
On the issues of rust repair... I was looking at some parts I have laying around... It seems to me that the front fenders would make great patch panels for around the wheel wells. I mean if all you wanted to do was replace a rusted out wheel opening that is
-
LIke I said it was only my theory. I don't have a gas tank on the drivers side  Mine is right in the center, so my lean was not that... I adjusted my trac bar some more.. It still had a slight lean.. but not as bad as it was before
-
Shoe Creek.. I have such fond memories of wheeleng there :brows: now that all my rigs are trailer queens it isnt worth going there.. I just soon run up to Crozet
-
The 90 model I just picked up.. brake lines are rusted in 2, but there is almost no rust underneath, and only minor rust along the bottom of the door.
-
It was said before that book.... Thats why they won't bring it back either.. will compete with the Ram's now
-
I thought it was rock crawling  I know I have way more throttle at times.. but as well built as that rig looked He should have been able to crawl lots of that :brows: Everyone has to remember Spectacular throttle= spectacular breakage :D

Since someone brought up UNIONS. The whole purpose of a UNION is to provide a better way of life. They first started cause factories were notorously unsafe... and they wanted better working conditions and hours. Then they moved onto wages... granted some trades get paid stupid high wages, but.. lets look at some CEO's of companies that are losing money making 5-10 million a yr, plus bonuses.. and THEY ARE LOSING MONEY. Lastly UNIONS fight for better health benefits. I don't know about anyone else here, but I have had a life threatening illness, and if it wasn't for MY union brothers fighting for good health insurance in the past.. it would have ruined my life finacially. Are unions great.. HELL NO, but are they needed hell yes. Look at how hard Wal-Mart has fought to keep them out. Thats why you won't see any Wal-Marts in closed shop states. Sorry Pete.. I just had to give a few examples ;)

Thats awesome... We had some excitement at work.. we lost the whole mill  they were doing transformer work, and forgot to put some jumpers on an interlock... needless to say we went black. The most exciting part was listening to the pressure release valves popping off when we started back up.. the 150# steam was loud the 400# moved small items... but when the 1200# PRV went off at 3 in the morning... they thought a stteam vessel or something blew apart ;) and some ppl started to run for cover

I have seen several writeups on pirate where ppl windowed there bell housing so they could run the CPS at the back -
I had the same problem on Pong. It was worse after we cut the back off and moved the g-tank to the middle  only one of my lifted xj's has this feature.. and that is capser... I think that has to do more with how it is lifted :brows: My theory is it has something to do with the trac bar pulling/ holding that side down

K-mart use to pride it self on having American made products... and even advertised it... then came Wal-Mart  I am glad to see that Wal-Mart is losing market share despite there low prices
